Hans Zimmer's DUNE (2021) GOES METAL || a Dune metal medley by GamePlayMetal - Hudba
I'd actually pay money for an entire metal album of the Dune soundtrack done by you.
Should I start crowdfunding it? lol

@@johnzachariahg WHAT ARE _YOU_ DOING HERE
dune has always been metal. even before it was a movie.
Sadly Herbert hated metal. He was quite insulting when Iron Maiden asking for permission to make "To Tame a Land" Original title: "Dune."
@@almor2445 I am going to incorrectly apply Death of the Author as a literary concept and say “Since Frank Herbert is dead, we can do whatever the hell we want. The thrash must flow.”
I think I speak for everyone when I say "we need part 2, specially "Arrival" and "Kiss the Ring" in metal"
I need to immerse myself in the new soundtrack and come up with an arrangement!
Yes Please!!!! 🤩
@@GamePlayMetalpls also make one for harkonnen arena

Yes, and work ride
Hans Zimmer is definitely a metal head.
He plays the guitar for their live performances
@@corbin101I thought Guthrie Govan was his guitarist?
@@heyyitsRJhe definitely is in the studio, but i think Hans plays some less technical or inventive parts live. Like Hans isn't imitating a bagpipe live but he's doing the melody or repeated accompaniment. Not sure if Guthrie was ever a member of the band or just brought into
the studio multiple times.
he used to be in a punk band back in the day, so, yes.
He does like Nightwish
"We are House Atreides. There is no jam we do not answer. There is no riff that we betray."

Sounds like the opening track of the most epic prog metal album of the year.
I think it had to be this way.
I'm not convinced that any traditional metal styles could successfully encapsulate or emulate this...this _oh-so-unique_ soundtrack.
I think it HAD to be progressive/experimental in some way.
And i couldnt ask for a better version of it than this one.

It sounds a lot like the ocean specifically their album Cenezoic/Mesozoic

@@blackpanther3676 wasn’t comparing them. These are metal covers of the soundtrack, I’m saying that song is the closest to metal on the actual movie soundtrack.

FUND THIS MAN AN ALBUM IMMEDIATELY ‼‼‼🗣🗣🗣🗣
Help! My eyes turned blue within blue and all I can hear are ancestral memories accompanied by this crunchy jam session
Please put this on Spotify. I would listen regularly
ofc man. hans zimmer outdid himself with this super dark arrangement and tonality. this is an amazing adaptation, feels completely natural. thank you guys
Agreed. I’ve always been a big fan of hans zimmer, but the music for dune/dune 2 is on a whole other level
I like Hans too but most of this soundtrack has been recycled from previous compositions of his. The Holy War theme (the low pitched, ominous synth/string motif, not sure of the exact instrument) is just a pitch varied version of the Harvey Dent theme in TDK. The Battle themes are from Gladiator which the man admitted himself. Hans has some bangers and I have listened to all of his soundtracks, but all of his soundtracks post 2010 lacked variety and the soul of 'A Dark Knight', 'Now I am free' or his Last Samurai suite. He's either gone Philip Glass (as he did with Dune, Interstellar and Inception.) or just recycled his previous themes. The only exception is BvS, which has all that's wrong with modern Zimmer but it's still unique and beautiful in its own way.
This is VERY reminiscent of the old Dune RTS games, especially Emperor: Battle for Dune.
That is a HIGH compliment, friend.
Thanks! I only played the og Dune 2 from 1992 haha
Frank Klepacki huh? hehe
Honestly I wouldn't mind more Dune RTS with the old CnC-style gameplay. Even more so if the soundtrack is a mix of the old industrial metal and the modern more alien/ethnic sounding themes.
Exactly my thoughts, listen to David Arkenstone's House Harkonnen OST from Emperor: Battle for Dune, it is awesome (e.g. The Machine). It was a very cool game from the RTS masters Westwood studios. Each house had their own specific, unique soundtrack, The Harkonnen was metal, Atreides was sublime war songs, Ordos was sneaking Acid/DnB/techno.
@@mikerowave1986Emperor Battle for Dune was my absolute favorite RTS when I was a kid. I still play it every few months and just finished the Harkonnen campaign. Absolutely legendary soundtracks
Majestic work. Not only is this a superb translation of the Dune score to metal, but it's some of the most awesome prog-metal I've heard in a long time.
This deserves at least 1 million views

Hey don't you make those DnD videos?
Nice nod to the original dune soundtrack done by toto at the end, which is also an epic soundtrack in it's own right. Excellent job.
In the Dune soundtrack for part one the House Atreides bagpipes in the very beginning when they get to Arrakis is actually an electric guitar immitating a bagpipe. This is before the chorus of actuall bagpipes comes in.
I just can't stop listening to Your performances! I didn't think that Hans Zimmer's Oscar-winning music could be even better, but it is. Your performance is H.Z. on steroids. ;) It makes it perfect!
Ok, I was not expecting this to be THAT good! Epic
Really enjoyed this! It's so well put together that I can see Lisan al Gaib himself proudly head banging to this on a cool and beautiful night on Arrakis, while riding a Shai-Hulud and being high on spice. 🤟
Wow! Joining the chorus anxiously awaiting part 2. This is amazing
