GWR Castle Set & Cross Country HST Tribute 2023 : Christmas Special

GWR Castle Set HST's and Cross Country HST's have reached their retirement from UK Mainline Railway service with originally being introduced in the 1970s as a stop gap for UK Mainline Transport and have since became a huge part of the UK Railway family. Great Western Railway recently converted the original London Paddington HST's from the long distance service's until Summer 2019 to partly long distance trains of the 2023 GWR Castle Class 2+4 HST's with the MK3 Sliding Doors and their own Castle Nameplate named after castles in South West England. The Castle Sets operated services from Penzance to Cardiff Central, Penzance to Bristol Temple Meads, Penzance to Plymouth etc and of course services covering the same Railway Links from Cardiff Central to Penzance etc.
Cross Country HST's reached their retirement on 18th September 2023 from the South West and the rest of the UK after the incredible operational years from the 2000s - 2010s. The MK3 got the sliding doors in the recent years as same with the GWR Castle Sets at around 2020.
This video is a tribute to their work and very often appearance on this channel which in my opinion the GWR Castle Sets with had a huge part on this channel since the channel was launched appearing on almost every video. There is a few Cross Country HST's aswell including 43007 Intercity125 and 43184 Intercity125 Executive aswell as the Midland Pullman and the New Measurement Train just to make up the video slightly and kinda time stamp certain times of the channels life.
