When moments like that happen, it only makes me MORE impressed because of the teamwork, the poker face, the ability to correct on the fly even when you’re beginning to panic
I was a stage manager for a few musicals so I DEFINITELY know that heart-stopping fear when something goes wrong and needing to spring into action to make sure the audience is none the wiser
Only, I was never in view
I’d just be freaking out off to the side while ripping some actor’s pants off to help with a quick change or tripping over myself to help move a set piece in time and utterly BRUISING myself in the process while frantically whispering over comms to the booth and the manager on stage right

I can't dance myself, but I LOVE watching ballet on youtube. I'm so used to dancers making things look effortless, I guess I didn't really think about how much work it must be. It looked so easy for you before that brief moment of a struggle. 😅 This is a great reminder of how much control, muscle and skill it really takes. Ty for sharing. ❤

I can't imagine smiling through that. I push myself hard in daily workouts and there are times I'm shaking like that but I can look ugly and grunt and make weird noises forcing myself to make the full count. Doing it so poised with a smile is a whole other level.

So a ballerina on toe is the equal amount of pressure of 3 elephants standing on top of each other. It's an incredible balance of Grace, excruciating pain, and extreme strength.

His professionalism is gospel. He saw and took the proper steps. Only the trained eye would have noticed a problem. I’m so proud of you for fighting through. Also it’s important to show young athletes that the struggle is real. No matter how long you have been doing your art. There will be those times when your body rebels and become disrespectful at the worse time. A true professional don’t show it on their faces and keep fighting the good fight. You had an Amazon partner. The partner is always overlooked. But these dancers are a team. One can’t shine without the other.
