I ruined my Tanglewood via the truss rod...I just fixed it and was goona dump it for a few hundred.
It sounds better than my Maton Acoustic and the Taylor 214 in the shop and equal to the 314.

Absolutely brilliant demo... beautiful sounding guitars... especially those at the top end. The Tanglewood is a good beginner guitar

Really good video. However I think there's a gap in the price range - it would be interesting to hear something costing about £500 - £600

Thank you! Something like the Taylor GS Mini would be a good fit for that price bracket. I've got a Koa one and it's amazing!

Great stuff Sam, I enjoyed that. Any reason for not having a Taylor in the mix?

Glad you liked it Steve! We wanted to keep it to four guitars, but if we had a fifth it would have definitley been a Taylor!

Great vid again Sam and I'm delighted to see the focus on acoustics. I was surprised at how good the Eastman sounded, but the D-28 is the winner for me. I can't hear 7 grand's worth of superiority in the Purple Martin D41 .I guess all that bling is where the money is but it's rather ostentatious, I'd prefer the regular D-41. Enjoyed this and looking foward to next week's .

    Ill play along
    Guitar A - Expensive
    Guitar B - Cheap
Yup was super obvious. However those crossroads and the same vintage stateborough £99 are suprisingly good to play i found. But the sound is nowhere near.

For £99 they're an absolute bargain!

I am torn between these exact two!!! I want to learn guitar with some Blues background and I am considering an electrified acoustic so I can jam too, these are the closest to what I'm looking for my short budget, but I can't figure out which one I should go for. Do you please have any recommendations? I really wish there was a full comparison video somewhere between the Crossroads and the Statesboro.

Great video, maybe do an OM size one, as an owner of a Larivee bought from you btw, I'd love to see that compared with A Martin etc.

I am not an acoustic guitar fan. So, for me, the 100 pound guitar is more than enough. However, if we were talking about electric guitars, I would definitely go for higher end models. Last year I spent over $20,000 on four electric guitars, and probably a similar amount the year before that. I just like quality brand named guitars.

    • @roddyragbone3925
      @roddyragbone3925 Před 2 lety +1

The same logic translates in reverse. I'm not an electric guitar fan although I have owned a few and can appreciate thier qualities, but with acoustic guitars it's got to be high end to acquire the superior tonewoods, voicing, playability and build quality. A cheap electric guitar would do me if I had a reason to buy one.

They're not for everyone, and likewise electrics aren't for everyone! Either way, we can all agree that having some nice guitars to play is the best feeling in the world!

You know.. you know when you pick these up, it's laquered and one is brighter with bass with the spruce. Mahogany is lighter, no laquer and mid scooped mahogany etc....

You should stay by the cheapest...boring chords...am c d f g man...even not some.basic guitar guitar picking and also you won't hear that much of a difference...why thousands of pounds for a guitar with 100 pounds guitarhands...?
