thanks. i got a $70 prime rib BEFORE prices went crazy for the holidays. Only we did not get to use it! so, while its still very nice in the freezer, been thinking of cutting that baby up and just having it for yours truly... was wondering how to fix for just one or two. thanks for sharing

Hey Jay- that looks awesome! I was wondering and I know that you want very high heat to sear and the kettle burns hottest with the lid off but have you tried searing with the lid on? This may help with the flare ups as most flames are choked out with the lid on. Just an idea and was curious. Looked incredible for a rib eye that thick, congrats!

Oh yeah that works great but not for shooting video. Shut the bottom vent and pop the lid on once there’s a bed of hot coals. I really just hope it helps to get more people out cooking on any barbecue and try to keep things easy while going thru things slower. Cast iron sear works great too. Get crazy with some bacon fat with rosemary and garlic. Toss the beef in for a few flips and it comes out so good. Hopefully more steak recipes to come.
