I grew up listening to this band. Their songs have stuck with me through my life. I read Psalm 18 today and thought of their song. I love how their music praises God. It’s not all about us and our needs. It’s about praising Him!
I found Petra in 1992, and I have been blessed by their music ever since. Thank you Petra for all of your great songs. Especially Enter In and Beyond Belief.
Conheci em 1997 na casa de uma namorada do meu irmão, o irmão dela tinha vários CDs de bandas de Rock Gospel, nessa época eu só conhecia o Catedral e já achava muito fora dos "padrões" da época, imagina quando olhei o Petra Power Praise(aquele da capa do leão), quando olhei o verso e vi aqueles caras cabeludos com aquelas roupas de rockstar e aquele som pesado, aquilo explodiu a minha mente!
e pensar que na época esse disco "flopou", quando comparado aos discos anteriores, eu adoro essa fase da metade dos anos 90 e começo dos 2000 do Petra.

e pensar que na época não foi um "sucesso" quando comparado aos anteriores, ouço esse disco hoje em dia me impressiona a qualidade técnica, foi uma fase "soft/prase" da banda que durou boa parte da segunda metade dos anos 90 até começo dos 2000.
Em 1998 essa grande banda que eu considero melhor do mundo de todos os tempos esteve em Joinville Santa Catarina não fui no show me arrependo até hoje.
Tá brincando que o Petra já foi a Joinville!? Cara, é a cidade onde moro hoje, só que, naquela época, além de eu não conhecer a banda eu também não morava na cidade.

There is a video on Farm Aid that never plays anything but the first song then freezes. I would love to see it but the ad presesenters seem to hate farms. Can it be fixed?
John, maybe, maybe not. Hartman's more of an issue ... it kinda doesn't feel like Petra I guess ... it doesn't LOOK like it for sure apart from John S singing. But it doesn't sound TOO unlike them. Did Bob play on the album? I know he wrote one or two of the tunes on PP2. Probably told the young guys what parts to play, too. Too bad the guitars are kinda mixed back a lot ...
Renaissongs Mann from what I've read, Bob Hartman played all guitar parts on PP2. The only album where both Kevin Brando and Pete Orta played on was God Fixation (Pete Orta played on Double Take).
Because Petra is a ministry more than just a simple band, there were many people involved. Bob was always a part of Petra (studio, song writing), but at the time he had taken some time off the "road" in order to be there for his very young son who needed to grow up with a daddy. John Lawry had supported Petra enev after leaving the band. The Elefante brothers who were never "in the band", but they wrote songs, recorded, made brilliant arrangements and sang brilliantly on some of the albums. That's how Petra works.
This line-up was the worst. Bunch of teeny boppers prancing around stage trying to be cool basically. Was the last time I went to a Petra concert cause it just wasn't Petra anymore.
What is wrong with praising God? That’s all I see. It’s beautiful! I also saw them perform in 1997.. the day Princess Diana died. They stopped their set to announce the news and led a moment of silence and prayer before returning to their set. Standup group with genuine integrity.
