It's downright criminal Hasbro never reissued the First Edition figures. Those molds are so good and we're probably never going to see them again in any official capacity
Transformers Prime figures didn't sell very well, so there's no motive/profit for Hasbro to resell them. The TV Show was fairly well-liked, but (much like Transformers Animated) the toys never sold well.
@mrsamaritan6881 Source? Prime(Be it RiD or Beast Hunters) was the main line for a time, I have a hard time believing they didn't sell well.

They should've reissued them for the 10th anniversary a couple of years ago. I'm glad we got a domestic release for the Jet Vehicon and Breakdown, but idk why they rereleased a random Takara Megatron repaint instead of something more desirable like the FE Voyagers.
The APC toys mold is actually slightly oversized to get him to scale better with the other Prime figures. That’s why I got him despite having the original. The original did have soft plastic for stuff like the crest, and I wish they kept that so there’s less chance of breaking
The knee problem can be 'fixed' by undoing the second joint in the double bend, allowing for that lil piece of kibble on the back of his lower leg to slide next to the thigh. If you slide the kneepad over it it looks pretty natural. But it doesn't bend any further than ~80 degrees which is eh
Honestly this is still a 9/10 figure for me. I got the 4.0 deco and that's ABSOLUTELY the one to gun for. It's so absurdly accurate to the show and definitely worth the retail price point. Def better than looking for the RID mold too
This redeco is based on the TFCC/GIJCC Stealth Advanced B.A.T that were released exclusively in these two clubs with a figure of Old Snake/Cobra Commander. Their smaller drones are called Nightshrieks.

@@returnedtomonkey8886 It was before Metal Gear Solid video games even existed. It was in a season 3 episode of the original Transformers cartoon where Cobra Commander/Old Snake made an appearance from the G.I. Joe cartoon that ran around the same time back in the 1986 or 1987 timeframe.

with the happenings in 2006 or around then, Cobra Commander was far before his prime, and due to a copyright snare halfway throught, they had to do a quick redesign and renaming.
as often is with hasbro, the OldSnake identity for Cobra Commander was rolled into the main mythos, and in, was it 2010?, they had this pack with Old Snake and 2 of these redecoes figure

Soundwave is an interesting mold, and unique enough design for the character. Never had any issues or breaks occur though my only complaint if anything was he felt way undersized like the FE Starscream deluxe. Would love for these two to get Voyager treatment in an upcoming Legacy wave.

got the beast hunters one back in december 2022, for wahtever reason you find plenty beast hunter figures here in argentina (specially Zebra stores and Mercado Libre)
pretty neat, my only complain is that ravage is not completly black and the brownish colors on soundwave upper body
I got the APC Demonic Whisper, which is the show accurate colors for Prime Soundwave. I’ve always wanted the original Hasbro Prime Soundwave figure, but he’s sooo expensive. When I saw APC made an upscaled version WITH show accurate colors, I knew I needed to get him
"because bro doesn't speak... at all" incorrect, soundwave said only ONE line in the entire show, the line was in beast hunters and he said "autobots inferior, soundwave superior"

I have the original rid version, and he actually has amazing range of motion at the knees!takes a bit of shimmying, but one you do the knees are pretty posable

I hope Legacy can eventually get to Prime Soundwave. As so-so as Hasbro/Takara's attempts at Prime has been, I want to see their attempt at a G1'd Prime Soundwave.
It’s based on a Cobra BAT. 2 were packed together with a Cobra Commander action figure from TFCC. Still have mine sealed with my other Joe/TF crossovers
the knee kibble that prevents the bend on this toy is much softer on the official release. you can actually get a 90 degree bend on the official toy.

I really wish APC took the opportunity to retool some small things. Giving him ankle tilts, adjusting the leg transformation to not have random bits obscuring knee articulation and not have the cockpit as such large protrusions would've been great.
I'm hooked on APC and AC. Got 7 plus Prime trailer and Cliffjumper on the way. 1 AC that Bulkhead. APC hasn't released their still. Someone posted on the forums awhile ago asking showz about who made Bulkhead and was told they and APC don't know who AC is. Since AC also released their version of Cliffjumper. Can't go wrong with APC, they also oversize some figures like Soundwave and they all fix or improve the figure from the original.

I just bought this off of Amazon for $65 US. $70 US with tax. I’ve always wanted one, and I can’t wait for it to arrive.
So APC makes Prime figures which is awesome, but man do I wish they also made Animated figures Bc it would be so nice to have someone continuing to make them.
And you know, not having to pay ridiculous prices for half a figure or settle for legacy which so far is just mid
I got most of my Prime Beast Hunter figures for $5 Canadian each at Wal-Mart (years ago of course), the Soundwave has Ravage but no removeable Laserbeak.
I actually have the original version of this soundwave, I remember my dad bought it for me on my birthday one year.
The inbox completionists must really have trouble getting the 1st edition considering how expensive they've gotten and how they came. The deluxe came two ways, one in vehicle mode, the other way was in robot mode. And the fact that this line wasn't really released in the US. Some TRU's got them, but not many.
He did actually speak twice I believe. Once when the autobots captured him... I forgot if he did after or before that.
You can still bend the knee I believe but it flexes the kibble, though it might just be with the beast hunters mould
I bought one of their Attack Primes a while ago and the Cliffjumper is arriving soon, I can’t wait for it to come.
Ive gotten a few, wish i could find a bulkhead but eh its neat that the three kids come with cliffjumper though its weird that they came with him as they never met him...
that soundwave figure was and bulkhead was what got me into collecting transformners , plus i saw a masterpiece hotrod at TRU and bit the bullet and with that the bug bit me and i was off i bought all the prime figures i could i even managed some 1st editions with living in the UK that wasnt as easy as it was for you lot state side

You can flex the plastic piece on the knees and bend the knee 90°, it doesn't stress the plastic on my copy either

I just got the Demonic Whisper version a couple of weeks ago. He was a little smaller than I was expecting, I was hoping he'd scale in the with the other APC I've got Darkmaster Megatron . But it's still a cool model, I prefer the show accurate colours although that face screen does look nice. Wait...what? there's a Prime Ravage?! Mind blown haha!!

I have the beast hunters soundwave but I lost his arms somewhere. And if im not mistaken he does have knee joints, similar situation with SS hot rod, where you kinda have to "force" That piece to get out of the way.

the one thing I don't get is why, even if it's a 3p, they find themselves refusing to go down the arms-micron way, even when there's much less immediate accessories that get done (not in this case, the tentacles are iconic but absent in pretty much everywhere else)

Joe crossover that was sold with 2 of these figures and a Cobra Commander figure called Old Snake based on a G1 Transformers season 3 episode where he made a guest appearance. This color variant is based on the Battle Android Trooper or B.A.T. from the original G.I. Joe cartoon series. A robot that Cobra made to fight G.I. Joe.

Am I the only one who wants the Legacy line to remake Prime Soundwave and Airachnid???? Sure they messed up Arcee, and Bulkhead and Knockout are only good to some. But after seeing the Seeker twins and Thundertron, I doubt they'll mess up with someone like Soundwave and Airachnid.

The set has 2 of the Soundwave figures recolored as this robot. The figure’s colors is based on a robot that was featured in the original G.I. Joe cartoon called a B.A.T. or Battle Android Trooper.

Transformers Prime: RiD is the sequel to Transformers Prime. I'm pretty sure that's just regular Transformers Prime Soundwave with an alternate paintjob. Not Transformers Prime: RiD Soundwave.

First also anybody know how to fix his arm joint? Cause my first copy the arm joint was loose af and I used the superglue trick but the arm is weird and I fused it together. Any ideas on how to fix it?
