    We felt it was a great hotel, clean, tidy and great staff.
    @jet2com where brilliant from start to finish with plenty of support from the moment we boarded the plain until we touched down again at home.
    #olhosdeaguia was a lovely place to visit too

    Love this! Nice to see an updated video on here! We are coming the end of April too! What temperature was it? Hope you had an amazing holiday! The reviews sound amazing 🤩

      We genuinely really loved it- Portugal is such a family friendly place! It’s was about 25/26 when we were there but some days it hit 30 as there was a mini heatwave!

    Hello, love the video, have you got any more you could tell me about the food? How many meat options are there at lunch and dinner? & is the fruit juice watered down?

    • @foliageandfodder
      @foliageandfodder  Před 4 měsíci +2

      Thanks I really enjoyed the food. For breakfast there was a really good supply and there were fresh fruit juices and smoothies inside just outside is watered down . Inside you’ll find a full selection of pancakes and waffles with various toppings from fresh fruit to syrup and chocolate. There’s also a continental area where there’s lots of meat, cheese and yogurt . There was a cereal bar . There were donuts, muffins, rolls, and bread for the toaster and obviously toasters.
      In the center there was a full English style area where you could get bacon sausages, etc. and eggs cooked to your liking including omelettes and there was fresh fruit The only thing is that it is uht milk but that’s to be expected. We made up some rolls at breakfast although we didn’t really need to because there was so much food available throughout the day, but it was handy to have for the little one.
      For lunch there was a soup station, a good selection of meat and seafood and salad.
      There is also lots of fresh fruit, pate, olives..a really nice selection. Sorry I don’t have any pics I was too busy eating lol... I did enjoy getting some soup for lunch one day but there was also pizza and hotdogs and burgers and pasta, so a good selection for the whole family. There were also lots of other hot options- some strange Portuguese specialities but generally lots of tasty chicken, curries, so much..
      At dinner time there was a standard selection of food that was available every night, but there was also themed food say Mexican, Tex, Max, etc.. They also had some really nice wines inside and Prosecco.
      I thought the food was good and I feel we eat well at home and therefore was happy with the quality, freshness and selection. Genuinely wouldn’t say it was great if I didn’t think it. We had watched a few reviews and were a little anxious before our first visit but they were just great, helpful staff, constantly cleaning and entertaining little ones. It costs nothing to be kind and the staff were all really nice and I think it made it a great experience.

      @@foliageandfodderis there many shops restaurants within walking distance

      @@andyhawke8860 Olhas du Agua is a nice little seaside village. So it’s definitely quieter in terms of shops and bars etc but just to paint a picture- when you leave the hotel you walk down a little street, about 20/30 meters, and at that point you can either go up a little hill to the right or down towards the beach if you go left. To the right you’ll find lots of little shops, on the Main Street such as little holiday shops, chemist, little super mercado. There are also some restaurants but we didn’t use them as food in hotel was so good. There is also a much larger intermarche on along the road.
      If you were to head down to the beach there are some nice little shops and restaurants, a couple of really nice ones especially La Cigalle- bar restaurant right on the beach. There’s some nice icecream and coffee shops too- I feel it’s like all the best bits from bigger towns within this small area and it was great for us. The incline isn’t too bad either.
      Hope this helps 🙂

    Thanks for this review! Coming at the end of April with 2 younger kids. Would you say the pool was too cold for them at this time of year?

    • @foliageandfodder
      @foliageandfodder  Před 2 měsíci

      No they’ll probably love it and don’t forget there’s the heated indoor poor which is great too. It’s heats up during the day with the sun etc- just get them to jump in- definitely helps :)

    Hi there, great video. Me and my girlfriend are going next week. Do you need to book the other restaurants that aren’t the main one. Thanks.

    • @foliageandfodder
      @foliageandfodder  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Hi yes you do but no need to worry about, I’m sure there’s plenty of space. You just speak to reception when you arrive or on the day you’d like to go and they book you in. Then it’s just pretty straight forward when you get to the restaurant in the evening- name, number and that’s it. Loved the med one and it had a nice outdoor area too! Hope you enjoy it. We’re going back in 3 weeks 🙂

      @@foliageandfodder that’s great to know thank you. And all the restaurants are included in all inclusive? Thank you I’m sure we’ll love it. Bet you can’t wait to get back 😁

    • @foliageandfodder
      @foliageandfodder  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Yep all included and also just incase you’re wondering- there are some beers and wines outside the main restaurant but at meal times there’s cava and ‘better’ wine inside. Also with the beer, let it pour for a bit before putting it in the glass (I know wasting precious beer lol) but it gets too much of a head and fills the glass with foam Lol. The main bar also has a good range of spirits, gin etc. we didn’t make it to the sports bar but still a good selection I’m sure
