- CSX W891 loaded DOD military equipment train heads west out of Brunswick Yard in Maryland, on it's way to Newton Falls, Ohio. Bonus CSX double stack intermodal train is also heading west on the other side. Locomotives: CSX 5494(GE ES40DC) & CSX 4291(EMD SD40-3).

I hope to have a military train on my layout one of these years! Lol. I'm acquiring the necessary 89 foot flat cars and I have some of the military equipment already. I use to see a lot of military trains down in the Clovis, New Mexico area, but I don't travel that way to much anymore.

I'm retired US Army and this is what units do when they go out on training missions such as NTC in Fort Irwin in California, there is no conspiracy or other "nut job" ideas going on, just units taking their equipment for training exercises in other states, that is all! We always use the railroad for moving our heavy equipment.
You do realize that is one of those answers that just Sounds like there should be some shady stuff behind it right a by the book type answer? lol That's answer that would get a conspiracy nut all riled up lol

I wonder how often they have to replace the wiper blades? Even with the rain - those tanks and equipment are very impressive. I would have put a DPU in there somewhere though. Too easy to break knuckles with all that weight. I am not the Engineer, though :)

@@BaltimoreAndOhioRR They announced the intent a couple months ago, but the agreement was actually signed a couple days ago.
It looks as though (you can see this in the first few cars and the very last car) that they put metal plates over the wood deck on the TTX flat cars. Is that what they do?

The best thing about seeing this is knowing it's a sign our men and women are finally coming back home. About time! Logistics is going to have a lot of work to do when they get the cargo off that train.

What a great catch at a good place to catch trains. Do you have a way to know when to be there to catch such good trains?
not really. sometimes someone "upline" will tell me that something special is coming my way, also i have a couple friends who are in some facebook groups where they talk about different trains and where they are. (i dont have facebook) othereise, i just go to the spot i want and wait and hope. thanks!

I was imbatween the two train and my grandparents live there I love going to brunswick md it's a great place to watch trains fun fact this yard down there from where the train came from there used to be a roundhouse there for b&o train until csx tor it down
