Some background: This video was recorded in November for Ron with his blessing, but due to a last minute change up with their bassist, this bass player learned the music very fast. There are a few points he played in the wrong key and a few moments where the band weren't playing "at 100% peak perfection" and Ron was unsure to release it without modifying the original audio. But we argue that this is what a live gig should be. Any issues or problems are part of what reminds us these are human beings at the top of their craft but real and in front of you and not plastic on an album. Ron is a true professional and perfectionist. He wants every performance to be as good and better than his last and even the slightest imperfection is cause for concern to him. So it would be remiss of us if we did not mention there were minor inconsistencies in the performance. Though VERY minor. - Henry Thompson.

Can't believe this happened, I used to frequent this bar as a teenager, never thought the almighty BBF would play there. Gutted I wasn't around for it.
I first heard Ron Thal in the 80's on a guitar compilation cd. So incredibly talented.
I'll never understand why he is not mega famous, but he probably doesn't even care about that.

I truly believe Ron is THE most under rated player in the world. I think he's better than Guthrie Govan on the fretless, as he's always playing one neck or the other. Found out recently they were "pen pals" before the internet email services were available. That was cool to learn. He's got a great voice to go with his incredible talent on stringed instruments. His playing blows my mind... Hope to see Sons of Apollo in February, and meet Ron & the band. I've heard nothing but good things from his fans, and has earned the title "Humblefoot". Gifted with a brilliant mind, through which he plays with his hands. Amazing talent, and a great guy. TYVM!

You can love his music or not, discuss about his lack or feeling or not or even his singing abilities but there's no doubt possible. Technically speaking he's the most advanced guitar player to have ever walked this planet. Playing what he plays in your bedroom is incredible but live night after night is barely impossible. Hats off.

So sad Ron's guitar is too low in the mix...
biiclope we had the direct feed from the sound board but not the individual mic feeds so we couldn't up anything individually. Still feel it came out pretty great. But we'd have liked the chance to remaster it had we been able.
This is missing some tracks right? I am sure he played Paradise City at this show. And for that song a different bass player played. Additionally a guy from the crowd played bass on one song near the end. And he did great.
@@sploit1988 you are correct. Due to licensing a couple of tracks had to be taken out of the official video. And the dude from the audience was indeed fantastic!

Mmmm, this audio needs some tweaks on Adobe Audition and T-Rex in order to get that guitar where it belongs. Compressor ? EQ one side ? I'll find a way to keep things ok.

複雑で難解なフレーズの曲もバッキングは単純とか、必ずどこかに聴きやすい単純なパーツを入れてるのが聴きやすい要因かなぁ？
リアルなんかも、フレーズだけ聞くとすごく複雑だけど、コード進行はかなり一般的なブルース進行だし

He definitely wasn't drinking. It was a pretty long night - on either side of this performance was a few other bands. And this was the first show coming into the UK. But we felt he was on pretty top form personally.

God bless him and his guitar skills but singing isn't his strongest quality in my opinion. I think perhaps Vai pulls it off the best of the virtuoso's.
