- This is my first time reacting to muse! Well.. at least this song. In this part of my "First Reaction To Muse" series, I check out a live performance of their song Citizen Erased off of their album Origin Of Symmetry! The live performance is from Muse Hullabaloo.

Citizen Erased is a song by rock band Muse. The song is from their album Origin Of Symmetry and is a fan favorite when it comes to live performances from Muse. On May 19th, 2021, it was announced that Muse will be releasing a remixed and remastered version of Origin of Symmetry, titled "Origin of Symmetry (XX Anniversary RemiXX)", with Citizen Erased being the first song to be released as a single from the remixed album, on May 20th, 2021.

This Muse song has no equal. It is their Mona Lisa. Proper classic unsurpassed Muse genius.
This song is the epitome of Muse's prime, which starts with Origin of Symmetry and ends with BHAR. It has everything.
Yeah, prime Muse was certainly something. It makes me sad I never had a chance to see them play in their prime. Especially since that was when I was most into them. Their set list back then had no weak tracks and they had soooo much energy. I mean, I did like The Resistance for the most part even if it was self indulgent. But after that their albums became more: Oh, I really like this one song from this album! And less: I'm gonna listen to this entire album on repeat for 12 hours a day while I play WoW WotLK! Ahhh...those were the days....

If you enjoyed the piano piece in the end, you should definitely check: butterflies & hurricanes, it has an insane piano interlude, I personally love the live at wembley stadium 2006 version!

Citizen Erased is one of Muse's masterpiece, a personal top 10 Muse song. I've never had the chance to listen to it live (even though I heard Muse live 6 times already), but I'll have the pleasure this fall to attend one of their intimate shows in Italy, so maybe... 😏 Anyway, I think you have not reacted yet to any of their big big shows, so my pick is a classic, a must see and listen: Knights Of Cydonia live at Rome Olympic Stadium (2013).
Which show in Italy? I thought they were all fairly big shows coming up?
@@selinaodedra9516 actually, beside this festival summer tour that's almost ended, for now they do not have announced a proper "Will Of The People World Tour"; instead, this fall they'll play like 8 super intimate shows in some live clubs and theatres, 4 in US and 4 in Europe; somehow, I've managed to get one ticket for the Milan gig, and I'm so freaking ready for it!
@@williamfazzari6778 You're so lucky, I missed the presale tickets for NYC and I check 1 hour later after the general sale and they're already selling for 400 :/. Matt did say that Muse will announce a tour shortly after the album release though! Better luck next time hopefully.

By far my favourite song ever, of any artist. There's something about Citizen Erased that really sums up everything i love about Muse. I get chills every time i hear it, genuine emotions, from the energetic jumpy nu-metal part, to the euphoric powerful chorus, the almost ambient-like section, the dramatic and exasperated solo and the beautiful melodic finale. This to me is the perfect song and i will never stop singing praises about it.
I truly appreciate and enjoy your Muse reaction videos! They are very well done and genuine. If you already haven't done New Born from the HAARP Tour, that one would be a really good one to gander.. Hell that whole tour's setlist was epic! Cheers🎉
I have spent like 10 minutes playing the chords progression of the verse, then the chorus... then the verse... and singing over it, because this chord progression is so freaking good.
I like this song go much because it keeps changing, but without changing chords or anything... It makes the song so interesting to me.
I remember when I bought this album years ago. I was in the car, listening to this song like for the second and third time. When the slow chorus started, I got goosebumbs and I told my brother: "this chorus is so good, wtf is this", and he was goosebumped too, and said the same thing. It's so freaking good.

I'm loving watching you go down the Muse rabbit hole. It reminds me of when I discovered them and ended up falling in love. They are now very much my favourite band! 2003 - 2007 was like peak live performances. They're still amazing but their passion and power was different back then!

Honestly one of their best performances ever, just so much emotion and rawness. They get better technically as the years go on, but I'm not sure this can be topped.

Muse’s best live performance is the song “New Born” from HAARP Live album at Wembley. They are phenomenal live, regardless of song but this one really stands out. The solo and outro, *chef’s kiss*. Enjoy.

This is 100% my favourite Muse Period. Its what I think of when I hear their band name. Raw passion and talent. It's also my favourite Muse song and I've had the luck and pleasure of seeing them perform it live twice but this is my favourite performance. I'd like to recommend an early live version of Falling Down! I believe the version they did at university. Amazing.

I'd recommend the studio version of this simply because I do not know of any good quality live recording of it! :P But I'm sure one with OK quality exist (it's old and very rare to be seen live)
