When I was 16, I went to beauty school.
I loved doing hair.
I loved how I could help someone feel incredible simply by using my skills.
...but it wasnât an easy ride.
I was looked down on for wanting to learn hair at such a young age. I was bullied in beauty school.
And I remember how often I would eat lunch alone in the back of the salon.
The others in the salon thought I was a weirdo because I was excited about my career and I wanted to learn more and grow.
(And because I was obsessed with figuring out how to get more of my dream clients using Instagram)
I knew that one day, I wanted to build something for hairstylists like meâŠ
...something that would help those driven, ambitious hairstylists get more dream clients by mastering the simple strategies Iâd worked my butt off to create.
I remember the moment it all came together:
I was standing in my bathroom, putting my makeup on while I listened to a Periscope
(anyone remember Periscope? It was basically a live streaming service before FB and IG Live was a thing)
I heard this business coach say: âIf you have a skill you can teach other people, you can have an online business and impact peopleâs lives by sharing what you know.â
And I didâŠ
After all, Iâd gone from making just about $102/week to making a 6-figure income as a stylist using Instagram to build my business.
And thatâs when Oh Hot GRAM was born, my signature online program for hairstylists to learn how to use Instagram to attract more of their dream clients.

Hi, Jamie any suggestions for stylist in a HIGHLY congested area? Theres at LEAST 10-15 salons in a 7 mile radius, some right on top of each other in my area. I'm really starting to think that has a lot to do with why my business isn't booming no matter how much effort I put into social media or behind the chair. Thanks!

Hi Jamie, So literally you're on my text messages I'm thinking of joining Rise Academy , but I wasn't sure if I was ready for this. I'm a brand new stylist just outta school 6mos ( which taught me less than the basics) and my first job was at this awful chain salon which I quit about a month ago. So here I am doing clients here and there from my home salon with little experience but ALOT of persistence and perseverance. I'm not going to quit. I watch your vids like breathing every day. Any advice? I'm not going to work with more assholes I love this profession and really enjoy when a client loves what I've done and it elevates my spirit to keep going.

Great question! The program is definitely geared towards hairstylists, however, most of the information can be applied to other beauty pros as well! We've had quite a few beauty pros go through the program in the past and have had great results!
