Fasnacht in Basel is a three-day festival that begins on the Monday following Ash Wednesday. It is considered to be one of the biggest and most important folk festivals in Europe. The festival is a traditional Swiss festival that dates back to the 14th century. The event is characterized by a large number of masked and costumed participants, who parade through the streets of the city playing traditional music.
The festival culminates with the Morgestraich, a parade of around 4,000 masked and costumed participants which march through the streets of Basel, starting at 4 A.M. The festival also includes a wide range of other events, such as concerts, balls, and processions.

You know what is so wonderful about this parade? In New York, Boston or elsewhere in America there would be police lining the route. I want to move to Geneva! Will you have me?😃HONOLULU HAWAII 🇺🇸😎🏄🏼‍♂️🏖️🌴🐠🐠🏄🏼‍♂️🏄🏼‍♂️

Thank you for your kind message! 😀 In Basel, Zurich, Geneva, there is not any police lining, but in USA there are also nice festivals. I'm sure that in Honolulu, even smaller festivals are also fascinating. Moving to Geneva? Great idea but leaving Hawaii could be very hard decision! 😀 🏖🏖🏝🏝🏝🏞🏞
