    if you don't have a vacuum chamber, you can try using vibration to work the bubbles out. putting on top of your washing machine when it's on full cycle will help, but not do fully

    i tried to mold intricate rings using this same quick set silicone. made a giant mess and it crumbled when i tried to cut them out. I had to mix up extra super quickly when pouring it too lmao.

    @4:25 Or you could use ultra sonic jewelry cleaner to get the air bubbles out

    did the same.......ended wasting a lot of silicon.........i think part of the problem was re-making the box as well, allowing the second layer to adhere to the first along the outer walls ........

    If you are not going to reuse the mold then cut it up in small pieces. It makes great filler you can add to your next poor and save cost.

    What are the compounds of your mold?

  • @yoopermann7942

    for the first time you did this all is not lost,, you can still get a working figure out of that mold and tweek it a little then make a new mold,, just takes time salvage what looks like a total right off,, just dont stop trying things will all work out

    when he poured the stuff into the other half of the bear, I knew he made a mistake. he didn't have a 3rd layer separating both halves so he could take the mold apart easily. he had to cut his way out of this mess. lol

    Great video. Can I use playdough clay?

    • @lundgrenbronzestudios
      @lundgrenbronzestudios  Před 3 lety +1

      Depends on the composition of the clay and they type of silicone you use. Some chemicals in clay can cause the rubber not to set, you don’t want to use it if there is sulfur in it. Platinum based rubber is particularly sensitive to that. I’m not really sure what is in play dough, but it could potentially work.

    10 to 1 ratio has nothing to do with chemistry. it is just calculus
