I have to quit watching you. I want to adopt every dog you talk to and I already have my counties legal limit. I hope every one does like me and buys a life insurance policy that benefits my local shelter. It only costs a few bucks a month and it can mean thousands for the shelter after you are gone! What a legacy!
I know it's heartbreaking
I want to adopt every dog also. I can't have another one either for different reasons.
Same. I can’t take it anymore. It’s heart wrenching and painful to watch. Makes me so very sad. 😭😭😭😭
Bob Barker listed 40 programs in his estate for animal welfare.
Horse Plus has been provided $100k and will open a spay and neuter clinic.
I wish we had a program for life insurance to donate.
There's a legal limit. No way
I rescued a a dog 7 years ago. Last week I was sick. Had a fever with chills. My dog picked up his blanket, put it on me, and then created body heat for me to stay warm. He always stays with a family member when we are sick, and takes us to the family member that is sick. They are family, and have feelings just like us. I would never get rid of my dog.
😥
@grabzndealz8213 I know what you are talking about.
I used to housesit for some friends & they would joke that their dog was my brother because of how well we got along.
One day I came over to do the walk-the-dog & water-the-plants thing but I was feeling wiped out so I remember laying down on the floor, apologizing to him and I was out like a light.
I woke up to find him laying right there like he had been guarding me the whole time.
Religions may disagree if dogs have souls or not but my unshakeable belief is that they absolutely do.
Sounds like a very loving dog!
I am sick right now with chills and my dog wanted to go outside all night when she realized I wasn't going to work, like she does every weekend, and will tonight no doubt. I think she thinks it is a privilege, or someone's job. I don't know.
Yes my sister came back home after surgery. Her dog knew and never left my sister. Stayed all the time with her.❤
I'm 61 and have never been able to have children but if my husband and I could have had children, we would have been so proud to have a son with the compassion and humility that you have. You are so kind and it's lovely to see how the dogs react to you. We watch from England. Very best wishes Angelax
Beautiful comment. I wish you the best ❤
Gracias a Dios por existir equipo de personas como ustedes, desde Colombia bendiciones y agradecimiento
What a nice thing to say ! (Did iI spell every word in correct UK English? (If not, consider me cancelled.)
He reminds me so much of my last foster. His ‘family’ moved and left him tied to a tree. The founder of this rescue group ask for someone to take him for a break from the shelter. I volunteered. He was the sweetest boy ever and he did so well with my dogs. I ended up telling the group that I would keep fostering him until a home was found for him. Well, it ended up that he found his home with me as I couldn’t let him go. He was such an awesome and amazing foster. In July, it will be a year since we’ve been together!
Thank you so much. My heart breaks for these dear pups. Abandoned by their families, shocking i don't know how they can do it. Not fit to own a dog, they are family. You wouldn't abandon a child.......or would they??

Lovely story! I am so glad to hear it!
So happy someone has taken a dog in who was abandoned and kept them because they find the dog is now their buddy
I agree, I think he sees people pass by and he keeps looking for his family. He must be so confused. Thank you Rocky for showing him love!
Thank you Jamie
A dog is like a child. If the apartment doesn't take kids, do you dump your kids?

Yeah and changing his name only confuses him further.

Well said. Rocky does essential work. 🐾💕
I hope the people that dumped him, see this. I hope they see the emotional distress they abandonment has caused him. I have 2 just like him, 1 little guy sat so long in his cage he never regained the strength in his back legs, through outright neglect. I carried that poor little fella everywhere, right up until he recently passed. Now I carry him in my heart. Hope this sweet little one finds a new home where he is loved & cared for, as he deserves. God bless you for your kindness to this sweet little one
🙏❤️
We don't know why they moved. Rent prices are very high and people are living on the edge. A lot of people are one major medical event/ jobless away from homelessness. These people may have had a horrible event occur and been forced to move, and many places do not allow pets. I see comments about the harm that comes to animals, but there are families that are being evicted and living with their kids in cars. I too hope he finds a loving forever home. My rescue cat came from a town that is not financially well off, and he spent time on the streets in a cat colony before he was trapped.
I have enormous respect for Rocky, but people are being made homeless, having to move in with family and suffering other misfortune.
They didn't dump him, they brought him to the place where they adopted him from and they knew he would have a chance to be with someone else.
@@starrionx1 Or, who knows, they might be moving in with a sick or aging relative to help them when no one else can, and that person is allergic to or afraid of dogs. There can be any number of reasons for having to let go of your pet.
@@malovelaThe owner likely would've said that in the reason they provided. They just said "we're moving and we can't keep him". Unless Alexis is purposefully leaving stuff out, I think they would've said it if there was a reason like this.
Rocky, I just moved from a rental I lived in for 28 years. We got our dog Buckley from a shelter, and he was 8 months old. He is 7 now and we were so scared we might have had to take him back to the shelter. I fought so hard to keep my baby, but many Apts that we could afford didn't allow dogs over 20 pounds. Buckley is a pittie and 60 pounds. We were very lucky to find a seniors only apt., that allowed companion dogs. I would have gone on the streets to keep him and be homeless. I am very serious because I just couldn't do that to him. He is a very needy guy and scared of thunder and fireworks and heavy wind. I can imagine when he was homeless what he went through. I am so glad you do this for doggies, they need someone to fight for them, and not take the easy way out. Thank you for your heart xxx💗💗💗💗💗💗
Oh, what a beautiful heart you have✨️💖💕✨️
I got a ESA certificate so I can take my dog anywhere with me, even those places that don't allow dogs over a certain weight, or a certain type of dog which a lot of apartments have that stipulation. A service dog however will be able to go more places with you.
I feel the same and as a rescuer who adopts out cats and dogs , you are my ideal home. On a more practical note, there is a fairly new medication specifically to treat anxiety from thunderstorms, etc. Its very effective. Can't remember the name or the cost. You're dog is lucky to have you as his person.
You are a true Dog Person, the best People on Earth. I love Pitty's too♡
Lie. Say he is 20 pounds. Thats what I did! By the time my landlord saw the dog, they were just happy to have a renter who pays on time, especially during Covid. I said I thought Runt was 30 pounds. He is 50. I smiled as charming as I could and joked about putting him on a. diet.
Ohhh, the way he reacted when people walked by makes me think he's watching for his people. Breaks my heart 💔💜
Exactly what I was thinking. So sad. 😞
Yep, absolutely what I thought.
I thought so too. Completely broke my heart.
@@Karen-mx2fpit’s so sad, when people dump their dogs out here in the country, the dogs will run after every car! It’s heartbreaking! Even if they were abused they want to go home! I respect and rescue these dogs, you are amazing
Mine too. I got my own dog after my neighbours neglected him, left him when they went on holiday ….. he’s a small dog, in the end I went and asked if I could take him as they had a lot on …. 4 yers down the road and Chad and me are so happy together. He used to sit waiting for them for days …. Still makes me very very sad when I think of that
My husband passed three years ago. We both wanted to give to a local shelter. Just redid the Will and left a nice amount to the local shelter--my husband's wish and mine.
Bless you. I'm so sorry for the loss of your husband. He sounds like he was a loving and considerate man. You're an Angel.
I had to put my Bea down end of Feb. I'm so devastated and heartbroken and I can't stop crying. I turned 72 less than a week later. She was my best friend. How can people not love these poor animals is beyond me.
I'm so sorry for your loss. It's so hard and it's totally understandable why you'd be crying nonstop. They are family! I hope you can find another family member someday when you feel ready. I'm sure you have so much love to give a dog and any dog would be lucky to have you as their doggie momma. Sincere condolences to you. ❤
I'm so sorry. I know exactly how you are feeling. I lost mine too after 17 years. I cried so much. I pray for you as you are going through this horrible time.😢
Happy Birthday 😅
I am so sad for you. I am 72 and adopt senior dogs from rescues now. It works for me even though I hate to lose them. I comfort myself that they pass knowing they were fiercely loved their last breathe.
I’m 72 too
I have been homeless and still kept my dogs. I have had to move and still kept my dogs. I checked 21 rental listing before finding one that I could rent with dogs. It's priorities, pets are our priority. These people brought this dog back like you return a pair of shoes- you wore them to the event now you don't need them. Animals are living beings. they care for more for us than we realize. Thank you for helping these poor souls.
Very true 👍
Same. It’s unthinkable to just leave them.
They are your children. Would you live in a place that wouldn't allow your children to live with you.🤨
Exactly and my former friend’s husband had to pay an extra $500 for his dog when he rented an apartment. You have to keep them as they are family!
@@salguodrolyat2594Yup but sadly many treat them like nothing which is sad.
The “family” dumped this sweet dog after having “adopted” him. I know Arthur is going to get a good home, where he’s loved and cherished.
Wouldn't it be nice if he ended up on a cattle ranch? If he is a cattle dog, that would make him feel better. Dogs used to have jobs that were so much a part of their existence. I hope Arthur finds that perfect home.

we don't know their situation. if they're moving into a rental home there is a very high chance that they're not allowed to have pets, if anyone should be to blame it should be landlords that don't allow people to have pets while renting from them.
@@Kogobean Absolutely agree. As a renter, I am not allowed to have pets where I live, and suitable rentals are rare to come by in most areas.
There are millions of people in the world in wars, poorness, desasters, etcetera, and they don't abandon their dogs. People with a blessed heart that take their pets with them wherever they go. You nailed it when you said, “I don’t want to take the treat away as he has so little right now.” This guy has nothing. No toys, bed, blanket or family to call his own. So sad.
And yet he took away his name. The more I think about that, the angrier I become.
Screw those people. I hope that pup finds the best family and completely forgets the other "family".
How heart breaking that he had a home and they decided to un-adopt him. What bastards.
Mark Twain said most dogs are better people than most people, and he was correct! Thanks for what you do. It's like you're a dog social worker. Well done!
Twain also said, if anyone is a cat lover they are immediately a friend and a confederate, no further introduction necessary.
99 percent of the things that "Mark Twain said," Mark Twain didn't actually say.
Even comparing dogs with people is insulting.. 😂😂 It’s amazing because there are NO PSYCHOPATHIC DOGS and it’s ALWAYS.. AND I MEAN ALWAYS THE RIDICULOUS HUMANS WHO CREATE UNSTABLE DOGS.. I wish MORE PEOPLE, especially people involved in animal rescue were trained properly and made sure EVERY NEW OWNER learnt how to be around dogs and it’s NOT TREATING THEM LIKE HUMANS..
I have always said that.
@@hellabella8295 Well, technically there actually are some psycho dogs out there who would have still been psycho regardless of the owner. It happens.
Please remember that just because he was discarded by the member(s) of the family that make the decisions doesn't mean there aren't heartbroken children who are just as sad about losing Arthur as he is to lose them.
As a former child, I can confidently say that this happens. My parents got rid of our family dogs on two separate occasions. I still wonder what life was like for them after they left us over 30 years ago. I hope they had wonderful lives.
Wow... if my parents had done that to me I would abandon them in an old folks home and never visit them in their old age.
My mother took my dog to the vet to "stay" for "a while" because he was supposedly sick. He never came back home. I eventually realized what she did. Dog is in Heaven. Mother ...
My dog went to the "farm" when he got nippy
That is horrible!!
Totally understand !!!!!
How can anyone leave this beautiful baby behind? He's a sweetheart!
I hope the family that dumped him sees this video. Thank you for caring.
Years ago we were living in TX and a beautiful puppy followed my car when we turned into our neighborhood. I stopped so I didn't hit her. As soon as I opened the car door she jumped in. We contacted local shelters and walked all over. No one was missing her. We took her to our vet and got her checked out. Of course we kept her. We moved many times and she was always with us. She loved kittens to turtles. Even a hamster. The best dog. She lived another 12 years. We still miss her. Rescues are the best..who rescued who. ❤
They totally rescue us.
Isn't it wonderful when a pet chooses YOU? She sensed goodness in you, because dogs and cats can do that.
That's a great story! ❤ 3:58
Great video . Arthur is a real trooper despite his unfortunate circumstances that his previous owner put that great gift of God to humans. I agree . Dogs ? And cats are definitely family . My girl a Chug . Named Sandy is my world . She means so much to me. Although my previous girl Sassy I had for 17 and a half years and it literally broke my heart when I had to put her down with congestive Heart failure. These little great gifts God blessed us each with are such a meaning to us all. Big? Small and everything and size in between. They are all special and each bring their own unique personalities to which makes everyone of them to be loved and appreciated that much more. My Sandy turns 7 years old in April and no matter how she gets ? She will always be to me ? My baby. Or I guess now ? My pretty little momma girl.
Arthur is so great! Hoping great new home for him. My small Yorkie Poo is so intuitive and gentle. He understands words and is so smart! He rescued me after my husband passed away. ❤
He is puzzled about why his family abandoned him and afraid of his future. His trust has been shattered.
And his heart is broken.

He's beautiful. Hope he gets adopted soon to a wonderful family.❤❤
I can easily imagine this pup was not seen as disposable, but leaves behind a broken hearted family who had to make a heart-wrenching decision. Not everyone has the same choices to keep a dog when they move, so I'm glad you aren't passing judgement.
There is a whole economic "class" that doesn't have the same choices many Americans take for granted. We are one step away from losing an affordable apartment that allows pets because rents go up, the pet fee goes up, the pup gets too big and we face losing our home if we keep the pet. Or job hours are cut and a family needs to move away...and the pets are not allowed. Many apartments will not allow dogs over a certain size.
Will you help these families manage these changes, give them a job, pay the pet fee? The answer is, No. We can, however, sit with this family's pet and lead our thoughts with compassion when we just don't know the family's experience.
You don’t dump a dog…. Ever.
@@MrJackal43 I agree. And that is why I commend this family for taking this baby to the shelter (despite all the likely misplaced judgement they may receive) instead of dumping him on the side of the road somewhere. I pray that circumstances improve for any family that has to make such an impossible decision and any dog who has to lose their only family.
My Dog´s Name is Arthur and he is a full Member of our Family with all Rights and Responsibilities. For us it will be like abandoning a Child.
Absolutely!
I agree, and I'm lucky enough that I could choose where I lived, and anyplace where I couldn't bring Mal was an auto-decline.
But... sometimes people have to move, for work, to a place where it's all small apartments that won't allow dogs (and to be fair, if they're working long hours, they may be newly unable to give a boy like this the time, exercise, attention and care he deserves).
We just can't know their situation. But they proactively took him to a safe, caring place. I'd rather believe that they're heartbroken that they had to do this, and desperately watching this wanting to hear that their Good Boy has a new forever family.
I can't imagine it any other way. It always blows me away that people can find their pets disposable. It's horrifying.
First of all, stop capitalizing words that don't need it. It's ridiculous. But, more importantly, DO NOT compare an animal to a child! How that sickens me.
@@Yesica1993
Do you realise you capitalised two words that didn't need it? All-caps, I would argue, is the more egregious case. But you understood what was meant by the first letter capitalisation; that those words were invested with Significance.
"But, more importantly, do not compare an animal to a child!" - why not? Equating them, I might agree ("giving an animal to a shelter is exactly like putting your firstborn up for adoption" - that'd be going too far). But comparing them?
They're both living beings whose health and wellbeing is 100% in your responsibility, and you chose that, and if you mistreat them, they can carry that trauma for years or even decades. They have wills; they feel love and joy and comfort; they fear pain. It's possible to love them, and act out of love, in a way that is profoundly damaging. It's possible to centre your entire life around them, but usually they'll be happier if they are important, but not the only important thing in your life.
Yeah, there's a lot of valid comparison points.
On the other hand, my cat Mal is never going to learn how to cook, how to read, or how to solve algebraic problems. He's never given me a present (and I'm actively glad about that). So there's a compare-and-contrast going on there. Isn't there?
He’s a very pretty dog. I hope someone gets him and loves him a lot!

it's sad, but as someone currently looking for housing in this crazy market, finding a place that allows animals that you can afford to keep and still keep them and yourself fed/cared for is getting harder and harder. but, I still hope that this was an absolute last resort option
Sometimes financially it's impossible to take a dog with you. I rented in NYC for many years, and discovered that there are many reasons for moving. If you rent, it's very difficult to find any apt you can afford and that suits you in NYC, and there are many reasons for having to move. If it happens that you do find a suitable apt that doesn't accept animals, you will have to rehome your pet. It happened to me once and I was totally heartbroken. I found her a home, though, rather than a shelter.
I adopted a dog that a family dumped in the woods. I have had her for 7 years and she is the best.
I adopted a dog who was dumped next a busy road in winter. The vet thought she was 8 and tied in a yard all her life. She is the sweetest dog I have ever met.

Arthur has a heart of gold. He will be most loyal❤
The owners didn't throw him out on the street, and took him to a shelter in hopes that someone will want to adopt him. I have seen emaciated dogs, and near death. Good luck with Arthur. He's beautiful.
He’s young so I am sure Arthur will be adopted soon.
Yes, they did the right thing if they couldn't find him a home themselves. They may be moving overseas, to a medical care facility, or even to a shelter themselves. Sometimes good people who love their pets can't take care of them anymore, no matter how much they might like to. Sure, some people even keep their dog with them when they live on the street. That's not always an option though, and sometimes that is much harder on the animal than a shelter would be.
Shaming people for bringing in their dog just leads to things like people leaving them in the night drop because they are worried about the judgment. They knew this was a good shelter and chose to adopt in the first place. They were likely asked to bring him back if they ever couldn't care for him, because a shelter will make sure the next home is one where he is cared for and loved. Also, he seems like a very sweet and well mannered dog, so they obviously cared for him well.
I love the name Arthur for this beautiful dog. He does look scared and sad and not aggressive. Hope he finds a wonderful home, ❤️🙏🏻
No kidding. People surrender children for adoption and are praised. People surrender a pet and they’re judged and criticized. I can respect they took Arthur to the shelter they adopted him from in the hope they will find him a permanent family.
@wildflower1397 the most sane balanced comment.
I guarantee you that dog's never ask for anything, but they give you 100% love in return. Someone will pick up that good dog,and hopefully be best pals with someone.

Poor Guy It's sad when Thir Trust has been Broken. It's heartbreaking..😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Caring enough for your dog that they brought him to a safe place to be adopted says alot about the family of this dog. The dog taking the treat from the palm of the hand is a huge indicator that the family put alot into training. This dog has a name that he’s trained to listen for. To have empathy you need not slam the family for circumstances that were beyond their control. That’s empathy. I hope the family or person who adopts this dog will stick to his given name. He’s a precious boy.
Abandoning their dog is NOT caring for them. Stop making excuses for bad people. Everyday knows how long dogs live. Either commit or stay away from them. There's no excuse for abandoning a dog.
I was homeless for 4 months trying to find a rental that would let us keep our dogs. Fortunately we own our home now and won't have to go through that again hopefully. I know the heartbreak I would feel if I had no choice but to give up my dogs and what hurts more is knowing the heartbreak and confusion they would feel. This baby's family might not of had a choice. Thank you for all you do for these magnificent animals.

I totally agree, pets are family, people don't leave their children behind when they move, the same should apply to pets
@@joannagodfrey5111 Some, DO leave some kids behind!
Ditto, my dogs, my family! I would no sooner give up a child as a dog.
I lost the last of my3 adult dogs over the last 3 years. I had to have my14 years old Beagle put down bc of illness. That was six weeks ago and my heart is breaking. I watched your piece yesterday and now today. I have decided I need to adopt another dog that I would be compatible with. I am a senior citizen and I need another dog. Whether it is a 2 year old Beagle or a dog that would be a good match. I have several indoor cats that were born in my house. My adult son lives with me that has lung cancer but doing well Praise God! But I did not realize how much I need that companion dog that I have grown so use to have for 16 years in total. Your stories have touched my heart and brought me to tears. I am interested in adopting again. Bonnie
Well done Bonnie. Your last dog would be pleased you are giving a shelter dog a little bit of the love you gave him. Thank you.❤❤🐾🐾💕💕💕💕
I'm happy to hear that you are adopting again. There are so many dogs in need of a home. Thank you for caring about them.
How could his family leave him, that's horrible. Hopefully he finds another home
My heart breaks for this sweet boy, loosing his family and being in a strange place. His world has been turned upside down. He probably is wondering what he did wrong to be given away. I am crying for this poor boy. My heart hurts for him.
He’s crying inside, he doesn’t understand why?! What did I do? This is heartbreaking
I’m with you Lisa, it just sickens me to see the sadness & confusion in the faces of this sweet boy and so many others in the same predicament.
Dogs are much nicer, more loyal, more loving, kinder, and more beautiful of heart than many, many people. I have a rescued dog from a kill centre in Spain.... she's amazing. Always, always give a home to a dog in need. You will never regret it. I know circumstances can change, and there are times when, tragically, you may have to part with your dog, but please, never just dump your dog...... try everything you can to keep your loyal friend..... your friend would never dump you.
There is no reason to dump a dog anymore. Not with social media. I have personally rescued 5 and rehomed 3 of them, one of which was done via FB, and wound up being a Christmas miracle.
This story had me crying my eyes out. I sure hope Arthur has found a wonderful new home with a loving family.
I simply can’t fathom how anyone can dump a family member so easily. It breaks my heart! My parents made us leave my cat, Jinx, behind when we moved when I was 9. I still recall the heartbreak and I’m 73 years old. Our pets love us, trust us, depend on us and don’t deserve to be treated like an old sofa. Thank you for loving these sweet, loving companions. 😊
He knew the word “treat”. So sweet!
What a sweet boy!!!! So sad! I hope he goes somewhere happy!
As I watched Arthur, I just fell in love with him.....he is absolutely precious ❤. I hope his new family is forever 🙏🏻
Six years ago my husband passed away. He had been in the hospital for a few weeks and our dog was so sad. They were best buddies. When I came home with his belongings she was sooooo excited and kept looking behind me waiting for him to walk in. When he didn’t she went into a major depression and nothing I did helped her. After about a year she quit eating and the vet couldn’t find any physical reason for it. She passed away on Christmas Eve. I truly think her sadness literally killed her even though I loved her immensely and tried everything I could think of to bring her out of it. Dogs for sure have emotions and so much soul.
People who think animals are disposable, shouldn't have them. This makes me so angry. I'm so sorry.
keep in mind, if people are renters it can be extremely difficult to find housing that takes dogs over 20 lbs.
After COVID we had more people than houses. Rental vacancy rate is under 1% & so many owners wouldn’t let people keep their pets that we’ve now got a huge issue. I would also be homeless if I couldn’t have taken my dog with me
Amen
DON'T APOLOGIZE, we all agree
@@ullebor Then don't take on or adopt an animal, I would live in my car with my pet before leaving them.
He lost his space toys and loved ones. I wish some humans weren’t so selfish. Cold hearted.
I agree!
Space toys?
There not loved ones, giving him up like this
Space toy is?
Not always because the owners have cold hearts. My son’s dog owner had to give up Ranger because they became a caregiver & did not have the time he needed. Super active/working dog who needs 2+ hour of activity a day. He hikes, runs, loves to ride besides on my son’s bike, etc. He has hit the lottery w/my son & his fiancée!
oh this poor dog. I will never understand how people “throw away their pets”. Pets are like kids and should go wherever the owner goes just like the kids do. Thank you for all you do for these wonderful dogs.
Your empathy for these four-legged souls is phenomenal. May God Bless you.
Thank you 🙏
This is just like leaving a child, you are their mother, father and they come to depend on you.
Yes!! They are ur family, pack.. he’s heartbroken!
This boy is so handsome ......and it is so heartwrenching......to see a sweet Angel with fur so sad from betrayal or mistreatment.😢❤
My dog is my forever baby ,and will always be my baby .And no one and no situation will give me reason to give him up. He is family ,and if i move home, that home must include my dog or we dont move.I am his forever mummy, thick or thin,no if or butts. This baby Arthur boy deserves better with everlasting love and treats and experiences.Heart breaking and he is so gentle and loving, please find this sweetie a loving caring gentle home.
This dog is so so very sad. We have moved several times because of my husbands job. My dog and cat always came with us. Thanks for all you do. ❤
Some people think that pets are like a pair of old shoes that can be discarded, it makes me sick. Poor sweet baby. He will get a fantastic family he deserves, the last ones didn't
Well I don't hold out much hope. This place gave him to his previous owners who abandoned him.
@@lancslass8 Are you serious? Im mind blown reading that.
@@gordocarbo Jus5 listen to the woman speaking. She says he was in the shelter as a stray puppy before this.
😢😢 so sad l wish I could adopt every Animal from those shelters, I'm getting old. I pray they find a good loving home 🙏
when you accept an animal it is FOREVER. they are family. I would never give up my dog no matter what.
I dont understand how moving could mean you have to abandon your dog/responsibilities.
It makes my blood boil. My rescue GSD is around 8 or 9 (not 100% sure, got him in 2020), he is the best dog and now he's going through health issues. I will do anything for him, I could NEVER give him up. It makes me mad thinking about people that abandon their pet.
When we moved to a new city and had to find a rental in 2022 we couldn’t find any place that would allow our 95 lb Briard. So many places have weight limits and Arthur is a big boy. Thankfully we were able to have our adult son care for him for 3 months and then we got permission from the landlord to have him with us! Sadly so many people are struggling with housing right now. 🙏
Playing devil's advocate here, it people are living in rental properties, not all landlords will accept dogs. I'm not saying this to excuse his owners, but it is the only reason I could possibly think of that might be acceptable.
@@susanolsen7248 fair enough. I'm happy you went the extra mile to make it all work!
@roowyrm9576 fair enough. Where I live, you can't deny a pet to a tenant. They have rights too.
Arthur’s story is heartbreaking. I think it’s important to remember that the people who surrendered him may not have had a choice. None of us know their family/financial circumstances. It’s a really tough housing market out there & there’s a lot of people losing their housing. I hope Arthur finds a family who can take care of him forever but lets try to be empathetic to the family who gave him up
Once upon a time I was married to a verbally abusive man. We shared two boys and two girls (his by birth, mine by love). We also shared two English springers and two beautiful cats. The abuse got so bad that my therapist told me it was time to leave. I got laid off with two weeks notice! On the last day I was rehired to a different division in the same company. I had one day to flee 100 miles away. The first apartment I found was safe, but no pets. I took it, thinking I would find another after I moved. I was terrified of him, but I knew that the (now adult children) would care for the animals.
That was 25 years ago, I still mourn.
@CatherineHickson-er2uh 💔😥
@@CatherineHickson-er2uh 💔 I can relate
Yes, if it is a good reason it is best not to judge. But if they did because it would just be easier to get a new dog or something awful like that then we can very highly dis-like them.
Well said, Sarah Wiles.
This dog is so cute, sad to see how easy it is for some people to dump their dogs like they are nothing but trash. TY for loving and caring for these animals.
I’d take this baby in a heartbeat . I’m sure by now he’s found a loving home . What a sweetheart 🥰
He's a real beauty! He took the treats so gently. And, his eyes are showing that he's sensitive and intelligent too. What a great dog ❤❤❤
And, he does look like he would be very loyal and loving.
I would never, ever move somewhere I couldn't take my boy. My boy is more important than any living space anywhere.
You have the patience of a Saint. My hope is for every adopting family with very young kids watch this video with them to see how you sometimes need to be with older dogs brought into the family.
That smile when he took the treat…you are so great Rocky!! God bless you.
I knew a family that adopted a child. When the mother died, the father remarried the new wife didn't want her and the father was ok with putting the child into foster care. I still can't understand how the father didn't kick new wife to the curb.
Sounds too similar to my story. Been 35 yrs since..well never mind. Pet are better than people for sure.
@@gordocarbo I remember playing with her and then she was gone. It effected me. Can't imagine what it did to her.
@@margarethughlett9428That is horribly sad, I’m so sorry you both were treated so badly, it’s truly unforgivable to abandon a child.
I’m so heart broken that people do this. Shameful. I hope he finds a forever, loving home ASAP.
that people have* to do this. I doubt it was done in malice. Probably because they had no other choice.
Sometimes people do it because they don’t care, other times they do it because they have no choice. Possibly moving to somewhere they can afford or need to move to for work and the place doesn’t allow pets. There are many situations, we just don’t know.
He's broken hearted or abused. Rocky these make me weep. You're a bodhisattva. I bow to Arthur. 🙏🏽🌹
We got both of our German Shepards as rescues. The most recent one was pup, who was 3 months old when we got him about 1.5 years ago. The other night he was up off and on ALL night long with an upset bowel. He had to go out, eat grass, and then yak. He finally did his #2 business, and his gut was all settled about 3am. Just like a sick child, he is part of the family and I could never send him on his way. Shame on those people.
Poor Baby. I would never desert my dogs if I was moving. 😢
Poor sweet baby, how could anyone leave him behind 😢 Thank you for sitting with Arthur, Rocky
So much sadness in those eyes.....breaks my heart.
You guys do such amazing jobs.
God bless you for your love of animals. Arthur proves that man is not dog's best friend. Like you said, he would never abandon them. 😢 People like that don't deserve a loving pet !!! My wife was bitten recently by a dog dumped on the street. Poor thing didn't trust humans anymore. My wife fed her and showed love ❤️ to a forgotten animal.
It breaks my heart to see dogs like him. The expressive eyebrows are the uncertainty of where am I. So glad you sit with dogs! Praying someone adopts him.
I understand there are circumstances where it is impossible but I can’t imagine giving my dog away. She is my baby. She is family.
We saved each other.
No one needs selfish and cold hearted people. Good for this sweet doggy that he's out of his past. There will be lovely people who will give him a forever home and never give up on him and stay with him no matter what.
I'd rather stay under a bridge than giving up on my girl.
Brilliant and heartbreaking 😢. Poor poor baby. Thank you for being present 💝.
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PUPPY ❤❤❤❤❤🐶
Pets are not peace's of furniture, yes exactly they are family for life and wherever you go they should go with you
Thank you for what you are doing!!! Our GSD is a rescue and she is family. Thank you!!!
I cannot imagine leaving my dog! I teased him the other day driving off slowly because he wouldn’t come and he cried out! It pierced my heart and a pain went through me 😆. He’s totally got me.
I am inconsolable for all these gentle but extremely hurt souls that you come across. Every single one of them deserves love and support, even the agressive dogs. They’ve been hurt just as much if not more. They’ve had to learn how to survive not just physically but mentally.
Thank you for doing what you do. You’ve really had an impact on me, I don’t often see someone that is so genuine and full of love. You make me feel less alone and I hope you know how amazing you really are, you’re exactly what this world needs right now.
This is making me cry…please let us know if he is okay now.
It never ceases (sp??) to amaze me how you can drop off your dog (or cat for that matter) and walk out the door, KNOWING your dog's eyes are following you... I just can not wrap my head around it.
He’s so sweet & beautiful! I hope someone adopts him! I hope he won’t be scared.🐶
❤Thanks so much for all you do for them. Dogs rule. I know you will use these funds to buy treats and maybe toys or pay bills for some deserving pups!
