This is one of the more underrated season of Dexter. I kinda like how this season sets a new tone for Dexter and we get to see what life is like without the family life like before he meant Rita. We gotten so use to him always being one way but change is good for awhile
People say it goes downhill after s4 but i enjoy this season alot, one of my faves. Also Michael C Hall (dexter) had cancer this seaon so he is wearing a wig.
I like this season a lot, as well.
I LOVE this season, much more than s4. I think s4 is just so insanely overhyped. It's good, but it's definitely overrated. While this is extremely underrated. In my opinion.

Yeah, *stupid* people say that. By far the best season in the show. One of the best seasons of all-time. Everything about it is perfect and elegantly written. I could watch this season every month and enjoy it.
Welcome to most underrated seasons of Dexter and in my opinion - it's actually in top 3. But obviously, it's just personal preference. But I think the story, the writing and Dexter's emotions are handled extremely well in this season.
And as for Dexter's lack of tears or anything, I get it. My father died few months ago and I also didn't cry and I just looked quite... empty, like Dexter. Doesn't mean I didn't feel anything, but sometimes emotions are too overwhelming to actually show them. Sometimes people say they're 'too tired to sleep', in some cases I think you're too sad to cry, you're so overwhelmed you just feel empty.

From the epic season four and the ending that broke records, now Dexter has to begin season five as Clyde Philips vacated the showrunner spot. New for season five is Manny Coto and Chip Johannessen. John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Scott Buck and Michael C. Hall all remained in their roles. To resurrect Dexter you can see it took two episodes to really finish season four. Only with episode 3 will we begin this adventure. I avidly admire the work done to bring Dexter back into his own after the death of Rita. Julia Stiles's character, Lumen Ann Pierce, and her situation are the perfect remedy for Dexter. Remember -- Take it!
Michal it appears as if your emotions are quite attached to characters in Dexter. Showtime did an amazing job with the cast of this show.
I think Quinn always loved Deb from the get go. Christine was a distraction. He was not invested.

I like Julia Stiles. She is a terrific actress.
I mean, they gave him a pinkie ring; we were never supposed to like him, he's a sleazeball. (I don't understand why they had Deb get back with him at the end of this season. The only misstep in an otherwise transcendent season; probably because the actress and actor were dating?)
