You forgot to include the lip busting high notes that they love to throw into the first trombone parts that make your lips feel like the next addition to the Kylie Jenner challenge
I play clarinet, but I feel bad for all the trombones out there. They play hard too, and work just as hard as any instrument. I can't say I'm very professional either🎵🎶 Edit: Thank you for the likes! I have never had so many!🙂❤️🎵🎶
The clarinet struggle... -Gotta pick the perfect reed -Slowly putting everything together -The "oh crap" not wet enough reed -Must get all comfortable before playing I play Bb clarinet and I love it this is exactly what I do before playing, maybe a little different because I have a smaller clarinet, but all around the same.(:
Alexandria Moore So true! I find it especially cause I play bass clarinet and I have to put the two middle pieces together and if it's not lined up properly it doesn't play right 😂
This is showing how other musicians perceive trombone as an instrument with such little grace compared to another instrument like flute or clarinet and show them as the more graceful instrument in a band
Hey flying jellyfish, If you still play Trombone you might find our Brass Recordings channel really helpful where we have lots of tutorials on how to play the Trombone and pieces.
We are offended because that is not how all trombone players are! Sure, we all know it's probably a joke, but some of us trombone players take the trombone very seriously. Sorry, but I had to say this. (The trombone part didn't make me laugh at all)
Fonzipan I'm more offended about the Clarinet/Bass Clarinet portrayal! I don't usually do long tones, but I throw in Solo Repertoire and Orchestral Excerpts at the end. Also, clarinetists practice sightreading too! It is a funny vid tho...
I don't know why trombones get so much hate, like its a brass instrument, it changes notes, so why are you hating on it? because of the slide shouldnt be a answer, some instruments are unique like that... people make a keyless saxophone
Hey Soul, If you still play Trombone you might find our Brass Recordings channel really helpful where we have lots of tutorials on how to play the Trombone and pieces.
Goddammit people, it's a large bore tenor. NOT a bass. He can't have a small shank mouthpiece (12C, 7, 47, etc.) because it wouldn't fit in a large bore tenor. Get your facts straight. EDIT: *bore not born lol autocorrect
The brass struggle(French horn, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, and tuba): Making sure you are in tune. Making sure your valves aren't sticking. Getting the perfect embouchure(if that's how you spell it.. Don't correct me if it isn't) Getting the perfect position and most comfortable Making sure your slide is greased(trombones). Making sure all the spit is out of your instrument .
Getting the perfect position isn’t hard, trombone slides are sprayed with water with another layer of lubricant below, the perfect embouchure is not even too hard to achieve
true in the band room clarinet/b. clarinets take so long to set up while brass just places there mouthpiece in and they have time to play around before class ughhh the struggles of being a woodie 😂 (00:00 - like 2:25)
Ok I actually found this funny but I have to say I feel like you’re leaning closer to the clarinet side and purposely making the trombone seem like they goof off all the time when really that’s *not* true..
Not all trombonist are like this. Some trombone players are bad but some some players are really talented. It's actually not that easy. In fact a lot of wood winds I know are great at making a loud screech. You should do a video about percussionists.
I chose sax in 5th grade im getting way better as i go but there are a few struggles, like getting a non broken reed, sucking on it for long enough, getting the right fingerings, not using the octave key when im playing low notes, making sure my neckstrap is tight enough, not playing bass clef when im supposed to be playing treble, paying attention, not talking to another person when im supposed to be listening, and making sure my ligature and reed are in the right spot
Hold up on the bass clarinets expressive tones the first selection was the Etude I played for my region band audition😁 good to know a reg. Clarinet etude is a good practice for bass
This should be titled how other band students see trombonist
FearGaming HD 100th like
FearGaming HD fuck u
That would be the PERFECT name for this video.
You can tell the bass clarinet forced the trombonest to do this
Indeed!
This video triggers me it makes all trombone players look bad
P1nh3ad 😲😲😲Im a Trombone Player😲😲😲😲
I am too
P1nh3ad imma clarinet player and I'm proud!
its bias comparison. its ment to trombone look bad
You're welcome. Appearances are important.
You forgot to include the lip busting high notes that they love to throw into the first trombone parts that make your lips feel like the next addition to the Kylie Jenner challenge
@Ainsley Mcdaniel same
It wasn't that high
@Ainsley Mcdaniel i was only trombone and was kinda always stuck with first
I was half expecting him to play some jazz licks as a warm-up
The title should be bass clarinet vs trombone
LordeAvici 101 ikr
Hank Hill It kinda does matter though, because it is a part of the clarinet family but it specifically is a Bass Clarinet
potato pototo
It’s a bass trombone too
Jake Lin no it isn't, a bass trombone has 2 triggers
I play clarinet, but I feel bad for all the trombones out there. They play hard too, and work just as hard as any instrument. I can't say I'm very professional either🎵🎶
Edit: Thank you for the likes! I have never had so many!🙂❤️🎵🎶
As a trombonist this is... absolutely hilarious, also nice sound on the pedals.
The clarinet struggle...
-Gotta pick the perfect reed
-Slowly putting everything together
-The "oh crap" not wet enough reed
-Must get all comfortable before playing
I play Bb clarinet and I love it this is exactly what I do before playing, maybe a little different because I have a smaller clarinet, but all around the same.(:
Alexandria Moore omg me too, I so agree with you. It's especially hard to play with a dry reed😂😂😂
Alexandria Moore So true! I find it especially cause I play bass clarinet and I have to put the two middle pieces together and if it's not lined up properly it doesn't play right 😂
Alexandria Moore The struggle is real...
shut up
also add in the step to make sure none of the keys are sticking
Thank's for the pro advice! I need a puppy! No wonder I've been struggling!
He looks like a professional compared to my trombone section
I can't believe how many people are taking this seriously lol
4:45 yes, i did notice the difference. a trombone part is typically played correctly, while a clarinet part is not.
This is showing how other musicians perceive trombone as an instrument with such little grace compared to another instrument like flute or clarinet and show them as the more graceful instrument in a band
Your mom is the more graceful instrument in the band!
I play the trombone and this is actually making me die of laughter 😂
Poptart Queen I also play trombone
Same XD
Same and I play the trombone as well.
Poptart Queen I play trombone too
I've got mixed feelings. It's funny, but it also makes me worry that this is how the other people in my section practice....
This is so wrong and cringey
So wrong, it's right!
Ryan Shepherd yes
Wrathful Panda no
this video is just annoying
At my school, this is exactly what happens.
You’re making trombone sound pretty evil...
And the way a tuba practices is by watching this video
The trombone is better. You can use it in all types of instrumental music. The bass clarinet is limited to only some types of music.
flying jellyfish i agree with u
Hey flying jellyfish,
If you still play Trombone you might find our Brass Recordings channel really helpful where we have lots of tutorials on how to play the Trombone and pieces.
flying jellyfish
I do not agree. I play bass clarinet and I'm in the jazz, marching band, concert band, and the full orchestra.
Wes Alf Wow Good Job I'm In 5th Grade Learning And Hoping That I will Be Very Good At The Clairnet
It’s funny because trombone is harder to play than clarinet
This is so true!!!! takes me forever to put my bass clarinet together (but I love it and wouldn't change it for the world)
There's two types of Trombone players. There's the Christopher Bill one, and this guy. They both have unique techniques and it's just beautiful.
Everyone's so offended at the trombonist omg XD
I apologize for any offense caused. Was my fly down?
We are offended because that is not how all trombone players are! Sure, we all know it's probably a joke, but some of us trombone players take the trombone very seriously. Sorry, but I had to say this. (The trombone part didn't make me laugh at all)
Fonzipan I'm more offended about the Clarinet/Bass Clarinet portrayal! I don't usually do long tones, but I throw in Solo Repertoire and Orchestral Excerpts at the end. Also, clarinetists practice sightreading too! It is a funny vid tho...
Apparently it’s a meme that us trombone players mess around alot
Man trombone players always messing around, this is too accurate..
o wait I'm one
trombone guy is more realistic
I worked hard on those graphics. So lifelike!
Ryan Shepherd I dont think that's what he meant but alright xD
Ryan Shepherd 😂👍
Yea lol
This is the perfect encapsulment of why the trombone is the superior instrument in any band
I don't know why trombones get so much hate, like its a brass instrument, it changes notes, so why are you hating on it? because of the slide shouldnt be a answer, some instruments are unique like that... people make a keyless saxophone
Keyless saxophone = vuvuzela.
Ryan Shepherd there are actually saxophones without keys and you play it with a slide.
You ever see a Slide Saxophone, those things are something else.
I play both Trombone and Bass Clarinet (Trombone Primarily) and I must say they’re both pretty spot on
That's unpossible. STOP YOUR LIES.
I liked the part where they pranked us with a bass trombone vs bass clarinet practice session
this
Did you know that the trombone and clarinet are supposedly rivals and us trombonists call them “The Black Sticks of Death”
I play Trombone. its sooo fun :D
Hey Soul,
If you still play Trombone you might find our Brass Recordings channel really helpful where we have lots of tutorials on how to play the Trombone and pieces.
Soul Collector I play trombone to!
these two instruments also serve different roles in the band, so different routines should probably be encouraged
More like bass clarinet vs bad trombone
Fairly sure that's a tenor trombone. The bell looks too small to be a bass.
Lindsay Gibson and it’s got a jazz mouthpiece
Bass trombone* ;)
TheDerpNinja/SuchFaster u would no what note he's playing if u actually played trombone
Goddammit people, it's a large bore tenor. NOT a bass. He can't have a small shank mouthpiece (12C, 7, 47, etc.) because it wouldn't fit in a large bore tenor. Get your facts straight.
EDIT: *bore not born lol autocorrect
Fun Fact: Trombone is more widely known than the Bass Clarinet, making the Trombone a better, more interesting instrument
This is a freakin hoot.....Nailed it
The brass struggle(French horn, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, and tuba):

This is like a Walt Whitman poem.
Getting the perfect position isn’t hard, trombone slides are sprayed with water with another layer of lubricant below, the perfect embouchure is not even too hard to achieve
i am triggered as a fellow trombone player and btw you hurt my feelings ;-;
some kid I play a tenor trombone and this really pisses me off
Y'all need to grow a pair, it's a joke.
Good
MUDtheJOGGER I play Tenor and Bass. This bugs me like crazy.
@@buhbuhbenny3618 do you even have a pair
*PHYLLIS SPOTTED IN 2019*
I THOUGHT PHYLLIS WAS POLKA DOTTED
840 measures???
true in the band room clarinet/b. clarinets take so long to set up while brass just places there mouthpiece in and they have time to play around before class ughhh the struggles of being a woodie 😂 (00:00 - like 2:25)

Reading Reaper it’s a joke
As a trombone player the last one is pretty accurate
As a trombone player, I don't trust a word you've typed.
THEIR IS A DIFFRENCE FROM A CLAIRINET AND A BASS CLAIRINET
A Robloxian with a Dream chill
Clairinet?? clAIrinet?! CLAIRINET?!?! I'm sorry but it does not have a second I... it's "clarinet"
*there
*There *Difference *Clarinet
Wrong 'there' buddy
Dude this is so true! Trombone music is so easy compared to other instruments and us trombones are always joking around.
Actually, if you look at trombone parts, quite often they have the melody lines.
Yeah, gonna have to completely disagree with you on that one there.
@@romansans1581 yes agreed
The trombone price at the end was our middle school warmup! Oh the doxology
This is why Trombone is better 😂
Not all trombonist are like this. Some trombone players are bad but some some players are really talented. It's actually not that easy. In fact a lot of wood winds I know are great at making a loud screech. You should do a video about percussionists.

The trombone part is spot on, all I can say.
That last one killed me😂😂
I can’t believe how many people are getting triggered in this comment section
I'm getting triggered by people commenting that they are triggered
Excuse me but the trombone part in symphony no. 4 by maslanka seems to say otherwise on the part difficulty comparison...
Please explain further. Show your work.
As a clarinetist and a trombonist, I say that all of my practice sessions look like the trombone one.
I can relate to when the bass clarinet player had to keep adjusting the floor stand. Literally me everytime i play
As a trombone player, I can confirm we like to mess around
Hahaha... awesome video! Was deliberating about "easy" instruments to pick-up... I think my decision is made.
Tell us what you pick!
I loved the trombone
This is hilarious! I play a Bb soprano clarinet, and my friend who plays the trombone acts the same way.
I recognized that maslanka 4 before it zoomed in... all time fave right there.
Hold up on the bass clarinets expressive tones the first selection was the Etude I played for my region band audition😁 good to know a reg. Clarinet etude is a good practice for bass
Truest thing ever
I love my clarinet and can play forever
OMG, it's the chosen one!
It's funny because when it is showing the trombone play pretty slow and simple music, in the background you can see other much harder music.
It's not our fault to be so fucking awesome 💁🏻✨👑💁🏻✨👑💁🏻✨👑
Hmm I wonder what you play, and I also wonder what’s your least favorite instrument
I find this relevant. I do the exact same thing before i practice
I'm waiting for my royalty check.
Y'all trombone players that are getting offended because it's making us "look bad" y'all need to learn how to take a joke
THIS WASN'T A JOKE!
Xpert Duck yeah and you need to learn how to pick a better channel name
itz.cal3b umm so do you...
Xpert Duck ummm I play trombone. This is obviously a joke XD
This. Is. The. Power. Of. TROMBONES!!
The part at 4:45 was played incorrectly
rose etude #1?
That clarinet scale grinds my gears... who stops on every octave and don't follow the metronome....
Festival of the happy neighbors ......
Where my tenorsax/altosaxes at?
Ryan Shepherd is getting really annoying with all his bias remarks. I bet he can't even play the Bb scale.
Which scale is that? The one with all the 1st positions in it?
Ryan Shepherd *smh*
Ryan Shepherd Bb scale for us trombones in position numbers are: 1 6 4 3 1 4 2 1 2 4 1 3 4 6 1 so no it isn't just 1st position.
Why is this so true
The trombone parts were so true
Oh god i love trombone
;)
SOMEONE TELL ME THE SONG AT 5:10!
Is that a Bach trombone?
Why is that song 840 measures long
Did she put her reed in water??
i have to play that etude for region band
Proof the woodwinds are our enemies my low brass brothers
With friends like these... AMIRIGHT?
Bassoon is the only instrument we like
Maslanka 4!
Why is this so true XD
I play clarinet and my sis plays trombone so it works out well in this situation.
Must be hard to play fast pieces when your instrument has 23 buttons...
LaValle Coleman its not
LaValle Coleman no one piece is harder on a different instrument
Wow, I never thought of that. Thoughts and prayers to all our pianist friends. :(
... it's not a complete sentence?
That's sooooooo true! I can easily play every song by KISS on my trombone! Sounds just like the album! Take that, Gene Simmons!
Hey the names of the instruments right
Get
I play both of these instruments
Alright alright, we do slack off a lot but hey, it's not like many songs have a hard trombone part; much less a feature (without glissandos).
I honestly thought the trombone part in the actual song was cooler than the bass clarinets'
Ironically blasting pedal tones and practicing growls is a great way to work on technique... in addition to learning how to use mutes....
Ironically not understanding what you mean by "ironically"?
Looks like he still has his
Trigger trombone in good condition
very nice :))))!
It's probably a bass clarinet but it would be cool to have an instrument called a clarifone
Honestly the trombone dude is me when I practice
Don't you dare steal identity. Trombone dude is me. MEEEEEE!
Okay I play both bass clarinet more often, but boi are they right. I'm 2 different people whenever I play them
Just because trombones have it easier than clarinets does not mean you can make fun of them
Wrong! It means we must make fun of them! Check your brass privilege.
