I was just noticing how much friendlier Big Joe has gotten since they first got him. So nice to see.
Thank you Dusty for taking us through the park. You are the first and only you-tuber I’ve seen to do this. ( several in the area have shown the town)
Thank you for your comment!!!
There are so man treasures in Dusty’s
Area!!! Dusty started to share with us!!! I Would like him to share the Native story in his area!! Also the history of the first white men that came to sette in that area!!
Do the Natives havr a thriving art
Community with livslängd Native art!!
I Would like Dusty to share These stories with us!!! Dusty tells story with so much heart and soul!!
The damage at Chickasha National Recreational Park is devastating. It might take 100 years for the park to recover. So very sad.
You'd be surprised at just how fast the scars fade away. Sure...it takes a hot minute to grow those big 'ol beautiful trees, but Mother Nature is amazing at bouncing back after naders, fires, ice storms, and long term droughts.
So sad to see the destruction, but so delightful to see all those baby red dogs. Keep on doing what you do. Blessings.
Prettiest picture ever, the herd of Bison, knee deep in good grass with a lovely pond behind them!
Thank you for the update on Sulphur.
Big Joe is so comical. He's always the first to greet you. Like he's your protector.
I bet Dunbar is wondering where all his ladies are!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️
I'd like to see sweet Eleanor go with Dunbar.. both originals together and in a small herd she will be more confident..
You should grab some of the bricks and see what you can build. Make something with the bricks as a piece to remember her store to show Brooks and the generations to come.
Hopefully they've got a restoration crew organizing that? I know when buildings here are damaged (fire, usually), they incorporate some of the bits into the one built in its place.
The front of his mom's store didn't look near as bad as the back. I wonder if it would be possible to save the store fronts and rebuild behind them. That could help save some of the charm of the old town.
GREAT IDEA, DUSTY
Structurally, it's devastating. But, the friendship-family part is just wonderful for everyone in your town. ❤
Oh Marissa you were so funny when Big Joe started rubbing on the side by side lol. I would have been gone 😅
Breaks my heart to see such a beautiful old town so tore up. I love visiting Sulphur Oklahoma 💛
You're right the buildings will be gone but the visual history won't, it's important to keep it alive and there are ways to do that. We have an historical society in my home town, but if you don't you still can add framed prints to the new areas around town. ETC.
Big Joe is so big. I really love seeing him.
Storm chasers that I watch was minutes after the tornado hit Sulpher and immediately started search and rescue.
I always enjoy seeing your bisons! As for the town of Sulphur, thanks for the update. My brother's house was destroyed by an EF4 tornado in 2015. It took 1 year and 3 months to rebuild his new home. Sulphur WILL survive but it will never be the same. I'm still 🙏 for a speedy recovery for everyone effected. Thanks again! 👍
I'm so sorry to hear about your brother's devastation, but glad he got through it and was able to rebuild. Blessings to him and his family 🙏💕
thank you for sharing the aftermath, after effects. It's good to see what happens after a tornado to be able to empathize.
Your tree damage was as bad as ours! We just got a "little-bitty" EF-2 that took out numerous trees along its path last summer. Fortunately, only 1 bldg had to be razed.
Hi Dusty, Marissa and Brooks Big Joe is just a big kid at heart. He knows who loves him and gives him treats. Great seeing all the Red Dogs. Yall have grown so much since yall started So much to clean up at the park Sulphur is looking better but still a lot of work to do. Praying for yall in Sulphur. God bless and love yall ❤❤
If every resident gave one day a week in helping to further the cleanup, it would continue to make a great big difference in the town.
An hour after church or work would help toward community volunteering.
Have you ever lived through something like this? It isn't as easy as you might think. So much of what you're seeing needs to be cleaned up can't be because there is insurance and all kinds of bureaucracy. When the wildfires went through Northern California they left the dirt so badly contaminated that nobody could even try to start to clean up. There is just so much behind the scenes that goes on. Also, we have no idea if all those residents you speak of even have homes. How many are still living in camps or waiting for FEMA trailers to live in? Many of them have probably been forced to leave that town in search of housing because there is no extra housing in Sulfur. Not only that, but so many jobs were lost too. It just isn't that easy. I have watched this play out way too many times in the Wildfires of Northern California. Unfortunately, it will take years before things start to look like an actual town again.
Madam , I don't think that you realize just what people go through after something like this ! Believe me because I have been through a few of these in my 69 years here in Kansas ! Waiting for insurance claims to be done , government assistance , a place to live and a whole lot more that has to be done ! Some people still have jobs to go to ! Then finding construction equipment or companies to come help clean up and a place to take the materials to be disposed ! Please think before making a comment about that you have no idea about how things works after a disaster !
Exactly our little neighbor town of 600 Minden Iowa that was struck on May 26..We lost a neighbor half the homes hit the businesses the water treatment facilities ..are in a holding pattern due to bureaucracy many of the homes hit are inhabitable and those residents have had to find shelter or homes where there is a housing shortages already...so I have heard it takes about 3 years to hit recovery..after living on the Gulf Coast most of my life hurricanes floods and tornadoes are destructive and clean up takes such a long time..prayers for everyone getting through things one day at a time
Ever hear of a town called waverly ,tn august 21 2021 flashflood we are still rebuilding too
Oh my gosh! Wallowing in peaceful beauty, lush waving grasses! 🦬 bisons in their changing seasonal coats.
❤❤Dusty & Marisa,
I think Big Joe just might enjoy his very own Jeep😂😂out in the pasture😂😂🎉🎉
Big Joe is just getting his scratches in, man he’s got a big head😂. It’s something how horrible those tornadoes are and the destruction they leave behind. Some of those buildings have been through so much throughout time and to see them destroyed is heartbreaking. That bike looks cool.
Dusty, you should get some of those cow scratchers and put some in in all the pastures. All your Buffaloes would love them!!!!!❤❤❤
👍 ( THO'T the same... then, I imagined the gang making it a 'game' to knock 'em over ...) Buffalo appear to have more creative and obstinate minds than cattle.
Thanks for the update on Sulpher. Praying for your community as y’all continue to recover and rebuild.
Maybe when everyone rebuilds they can do it in the style and materials like the old historic ones were...that would be heartwarming!
They should be salvaging what they can of the old bricks and timber. It could help with the restoration.
@@carolynfrancis-mclucas6185 that sounds like a good idea!
So sad to see all the loss
Appreciate the update on the town post-tornado. 'Ol Big Joe likes the purdy girls too! He says: "If this buggy's rockin', don't come a knockin' !"
Hey Bike will come in handy on those trails to see those Bison
Those red dogs are getting so big. Sad to see Sulpher in such a state. I feel you when you talk about losing so much history when/if buildings are demolished.
Dusty, Mother Nature has her own plans and they don’t always adhere to what we want. So sorry for everything you all have been through. Will keep my fingers crossed for you. I remember the Joplin MO tornado. Devastating.
It's difficult to understand how powerful even a small tornado is, without seeing it firsthand. My Mom used to live near Tupelo, MS and it was hit by a tornado a decade or more ago and you can Still see the damage to the trees where it came through. It will take all the help the park can get to restore it to former glory. Glad the Bison were spared! Love & Best wishes from Memphis, TN!~
Thank you for sharing the bison with us
Gotta love a good scratch!
Thanks for the update on Sulphur and the Park.❤❤❤❤
Dusty love and enjoy watching your videos. May the lord bless and protect you and your family and the bison and other animals.
BIG JOE!!! 😍😀 Seeing his big fuzzy face just makes my day! Haha 😅❤
So heartbreaking to see the tornado damage. 😢
Praying for all who have suffered. 😢
Big Joe loves Marissa - like a cat rubbing on your leg or ATV!! hahaha. Look at all those red dogs!
Thanks for the park update post-tornado. Wow, those trails are something! Tribal agreement info was interesting!
Wow, so much clean-up work has happened downtown. Sad, the destruction of history.
After the storm, nothing will be the same. 🙏 Big Joe seems to be getting gentle with age. Blessings 🙏🫶🙏🫶
Dusty, I hope your mom doesn't give up her dream. I do hope that she will reopen her store again some day. It's harder when you get to be our age, but it's doable. 💖🙏💖
The bison are just so big and impressive.
So sad to see all the destruction that happened from the tornado. Of course all the bison look really great. Good to see Big Joe getting his scratches in.
Well, when you gotta itch, you gotta itch! My landlords put T Posts in the ground so the cattle could scratch themselves. Don't know how deep. Would that work for you?
😂😂😂😂😂 get’er done Big Joe!!!! 🦬
I cannot believe how many bison you now have. I remember when you first started.
Thank you Dusty and wife for the update on how things are going there in Sulphur , Oklahoma !
Sorry but it's only words! I bought land in Claremore out by Oologah lake but when I heard a tornado hit the town I freaked as if a little more than there. I'm so sorry your sister and Daniel lost one of there baby donkeys. I was concerned about the Eleanor, the red dogs and yearlings because the others are big enough I did think none of the big ones would float away
It’s so sad to see the aftermath of destruction from the tornadoes but thankful that there wasn’t any lives lost or at least very few, homes and businesses can be rebuilt but the loss of loved ones devastates everyone around a tiny community, prayers still going out to all that were effected ♥️🙏🏻🇨🇦
Maybe you can see what Jason @ Cog Hill bought for their animals to scratch on. Its a roller of some kind and maybe put a couple in each of your pastures
They were the old brushes off of the street sweepers/ brooms. Can usually pick them up pretty cheap check with construction companies and even city/County garages. Would be figuring out a strong enough post to secure them.

So sad that all, or a lot of the old buildings and history of the town has been destroyed.
Awesome electric bike! So happy your channel is getting more sponsors! Big Joe is a funny character! We love Eleanor! 👍👏❤😍
Hey Dusty Marissa and Brooks.hope you're all doing good.the Bison look beautiful.your doing such a great job.❤
Big joe is so funny he is showing you all some love today
Big Joe likes being on camera 😂
This is an aspect of post-tornado that the general public never gets to see. ---I saw some color changes in a few of the red dogs!
Appreciate the update. Sulphur is still worth the trip. And loved seeing Big Joe scratch his itch! Beautiful sunset with those glorious bison grazing. 🤗💗🙏
Nice to see Elenor. Your herd is looking great! So sorry about your town, the historic buildings and the national park. ❤
Bless all the beautiful Sulpher people for what they went through and what they lost. Marissa, your alot braver than I would have been when Big Joe came over to see you and use the vehicle cfor a scratching post. Dusty thank you for the tour of the park and Sulpher. God Bless you and your family and the Sulpher families. 🙏💕
He’s a beautiful boy!
My local town is Rilling Fork, MS. We were hit with a tornado that took out 85% of the town back in March, 2023. Our town will probably never come back from it. 😢
nobody can predict the future, just have to take it as it comes.
Good day.
Have you thought of getting a few scratching posts to put out in the pastures? Are you going to take Eleanor over to where Dunbar is? Didn't you work at the park when you were younger with Daniel?
Thanks for the update on Sulphur. It looks better than when you last showed the work going on, but still lots more to do. Sad to see all the historic buildings destroyed and beyond repair. Sad to see the destruction in the park as well.
Never heard how your cabins made it? Hope all is good and they stay full all summer.❤️🦋
Thank you dusty for all you fo in protecting.your big bison herds. You guys are amazing, thanks you for taking us thru the park and to see sulfur city after the tornado hit.stay safe and always blessings to you all.
Better days are ahead for Sulpher
Thank you Dusty for the tour around the park area and progress made in downtown 👍🏻
Thanks for sharing the national park buffalo herd and the damage pictures. I have checked online to see and so sad all the damage they had.
All those littles make me happy that they seems to be doing well.
Big Joe is such a fine specimen. He’s a beautiful animal. I really enjoy getting good glimpses of him.
We came through Sulphur Friday on the way to Medicine Park. Seeing talks videos was one things, but actually seeing it even after it was "cleaned up" made our hearts drop. When my 9 year old granddaughter was almost in tears seeing it. And on a positive note, we have lived the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge so much. We've driven it 5 times already 😂 I'm sure we'll drive through twice more tomorrow
So sorry for the losses your community has suffered!
Ps. Since the historic buildings are brick can they be salvaged, meaning gutted and bricks replaced and rebuilt?
I had an unfortunate accident with my Heybike, being 75, I caught my foot on the pedal and broke my left humorous, just below the left shoulder socket. I was on an adventure 360 miles from home. For us older folks I would recommend a step thru like the HERO.
Thank you so much Dusty, Marisa,Brooks and Big Joe for a wonderful blog God Bless 🙏🤗🙏🤗🙏🤗🙏🤗
You have a perfect right to be proud of the Bison ranches. You, Melissa and Kevin have worked hard developing this lovely ranch.
Thats the BEST is the humbleness gets Renewed!!😊❤
How is Dunbar doing? Does he miss his ladies? Nice bike. Beautiful park area for the Bison.
One thing you may look at for the bison is some scratching post out in the field made up of a 6 inch pipe and a road sweeping brush. There should be enough companies within your area that has those road sweepers that could sell you some used ones that wore out and you could put one of those in each pastor, just thought love you. Have a good day.
Why aren't the Forestry Service allowing loggers to harvest the downed trees for the wood products?
I just love the red dogs they are so cute. Your herd has really grown. How many buffalo do you have now? I'm so sorry about the town of Sulfur. My prayers will be with all of you that live there. Thank you for sharing your life and town with us.
My heart still breaks for all that was lost.
I’m so happy that people are cleaning up Sulphur after the damage from that awful tornado! Perhaps it will become a town again. God bless the people of this area. May He give each of you peace and strength to over come the material destruction. Thanks Dusty!
Thank you for sharing the National Park. I heard it had been hit but not seen it. May the restoration of this town begin to take on a new life over the next few years.❤
Last year when visiting Sulfur, I stopped by your mom's boutique and it was closed, but was able to take a couple pictures of the cute store front. Blows my mind to have been there and now see all the tornado destruction. Wishing the very best for all the residents and business owners.
In your trip to Redmond Salt in Utah did you see the herd of Bison on Antelope Island located in the Great Salt Lake?
I was in Utah this week and drove to the island to see them. There were Red Dogs everywhere.
Big Joe missed you ❤️ Hi Merisa and Dusty. Where is Eleanor?
Bison with a sunset, can't get any better than that 😊👍
The buildings may be going but the history will always remain.
Thank you for the visual update on the tornado damage to the Sulfur area. It is truly heartbreaking. It is going to be a long time before the Park Area will be cleaned of all the debris . Maybe Sulfur can create a local "CCC" for the park area and others as a project for those who need temp jobs until the cleanup is complete. For all of us who have a history in one place, it is difficult to process the required changes to the once familiar. PRAYERS for ALL who have experienced destruction like this in the past few years. "Tornado Alley " has widened to include most of the States of The United States ! ( wondering about the source of that destructive change to the 'norm' , appreciating that the answer is above my pay grade ! ) Blessings, Grace and Peace to ALL.🙏
Thank you Dusty and Marissa (sorry if I misspelled your name!) for the update on the town. It must be sad heart wrenching to see parts of your lives destroyed. I’m praying for your Mom that the Lord’s will be done for her and her business! He will continue to bless you all through this tragedy. ❤
Thanks for the update on the town buddy, see you in September
Look at all those Red dogs!
Absolutely beautiful!
Thanks Dusty and family......
Old Shoe🇺🇸
I often wonder whether each generation of your herds will become less wild as they acclimatise to the regular contact with humans? They are all looking so well.
Prayers for all who have been devistated by disasters. It takes close to 5 years to get back on your feet, and that's with aid from Federal, State and other sources.
So wonderful to see the bison in the park doing well. There will be new and different vista's to enjoy there, with lots of memories of how it was.
Big Joe is a hoot! He is quite a special bison!
Big Joe's head is almost as big as Marisa is tall. I can understand why she gets nervous when he comes up. It's so sad to see all the damage still left. But with time comes change & Sulphur will come back better & stronger. ❤
Continued prayers 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I'm so sorry for the loss that your family and everyone else has gone threw. God bless everyone. 🙏🏻❤️
OMG that is so sad, so much was lost, God willing it will grow back.
