- My recent health challenges have made me re-evaluate a lot of my life, particularly how I make a living and support my family. This wasn't an easy decision to make, but I feel like I need to change some things regarding reviewing hardtails and creating hardtail content. Today I talk about my future plans with this channel as well as my future plans with Hardtail Party.
Thank you for all the amazing support and for the kindness. I'm excited for this new chapter of bike nerdery and I'm excited to have you join the journey.

This is something that have crossed my mind at some point, how I wish there is a Hardtail Party Steve channel that isn't limited to talking about just hardtails. Now here it is. Thank you for this amazing gift to us Steve.
Thank you for your support
Agreed. Full suspension bike reviews will be more relevant to me.
Full support
Your transparency is really inspiring! Sending you so many good vibes while you are navigating everything health related!!
Maybe explain why stems are so short and how sizing and fitting on a mountain bike has changed. Most mountain bikers don't know.
You need a podcast too, i think you could make it work with interviews etc. Good luck buddy.
Podcasts seem super hard to monetize. I suppose most of my videos could easily convert to a podcast...
I feel you, Steve. Mine is getting worse, as well. I'm not riding much anymore. Two of my doctors basically told me I should be prepared to be handicapped/wheelchair bound. So, I can understand how you must feel. Hope you can continue doing what makes you happy.
Im so sad to hear that.
The party in the mountains just got bigger🔥
I don't care if you go 180/180 suspension I'm subbing.
I’ve subscribed bud🤟 you still love bikes. That’s all that matters.
Excellent. I like the “pivot” (wink wink) you are taking. 🙏Blessings to you & your family. I admire your faith, dedication, & perseverance.💪 My riding partner BOZ here in Oregon has one of your signature bikes & I look forward to chatting with him about your new content.👍😉
Refresh..... Refresh..... Refresh.... Refresh.... It's so refreshing!
You got my full support Steve!!! It shows your character and the type of person you are not giving up or throwing in the towel on CZcams!!! I look for learning more and seeing what you going to present for us viewers!!!
Watched all hardtail party vids on my old channel, fully supporting this new channel!!!
Way to roll with the punches. You are the American version of Doddy and I mean that with the most respect possible. You are the best at breaking things down for your audience and dive deeper into subjects than most others and better than all others. I can’t wait for more content on this channel and will be praying for you and your family. I wish you every success life has. God bless and thanks for the awesome content:-)
🙏
Found your channel while deciding on a single speed to get or build up. Can’t wait to follow this one. Best wishes for your health and much love to your family
Feel for you given what you are dealing with. I’ve been following g your channel for a while and I don’t even ride hardtails! This broader content will be even more relevant. Good luck!
Hey Steve, good luck with the new channel. I'd love to see some of your old content migrate over here (perhaps edited) like flats vs clipless or the wheel comparisons or crankshaft length stuff. I think those type of videos would fit this channel and be a good way to get some more videos up here quick so you can get past that watchtime threshold.
Smart to pivot old age is coming anyway having option s is great . Bro interview interesting people maybe viewers and there stories. I know i started riding watching you after reaching 300 pounds from 650. There are always badass stories and business to highlight. Go interview Kevin Wren. Be about it. Your struggle will make this channel brilliant.
I didn’t know you’re an ID! Hello from a fellow MTB-ID. Best of luck on your new endeavor Steve. I’ll be watching.
Bravo, Steve! First off, there is nothing more inspiring or impactful than setting the example of putting your health first. I have been a long time viewer and you helped me live out my hardtail dreams learning so much from you and building a few of my own. After a couple years doing that, my back gave out. It killed me to be off the bike, it killed me to be on it. Bike time meant not being able to pick my daughter up off the floor and tie my shoes. I bit the bullet and really changed my style and started riding full suspension, and riding a lot slower and "smell the roses" style riding. Plus, moved the spending ratio to where healthcare investment superceded bike investment for the first time in my budgeting life. Your move here is inspiring and I'm so glad you're branching out to a wider space all while honoring the hardtail roots. Wishing you and your family health and joy 🙏
Looking forward to watch you explaining about kinematics of full sus, and other bike nerdy topics.
I really learned a lot with Hardtail Party videos, about geometry, about component wise choices etc.
Rode only hardtails until few months ago when I bought my first full sus in almost 20years of MTB.
I hope you will find a way to manage what's going on with your health, and also wish you to ride as much as you can.
I'm in the process of changing my hartail MTB into an adventure/gravel bike but still consider myself a hartail rider (now full rigid). As a bit of a bike nerd I'd love to see you branch out into all areas of being in the dirt on a bike. Best of luck on your new channel and I'll be watching for sure.
I got you Steve. I've learned a bunch from your Hardtail Party channel already. Been following you and your family clear back when you traveled in the van and made content.
So, adding a comment here and there should also help your channel.
Take care!
Ok Steve! I am here supporting you all the way from Vietnam. 😊
Awesome! I hope to visit your beautiful country one day.
I am from the USA . I am here helping the Vietnamese people! Dave Turner helped ship me his Nitrous all the way here. I got his very last one. I feel very grateful. Thank you for your wonderful videos on this bike. ❤️
You already know I'm gonna keep following you no matter how many channels you have lol. Stoked for this next chapter! 👍
Pulling for you Steve! Sharing this with my MTB group chat to spread the word!.
Happy to support...will be great! 🎉
You're one of the best reviewers/instructors online, can't wait to see the new content on this channel 🍻
Best of luck with this new project!
Looking forward to the content!
I am here loving it
Never surrender never givevin! Always evolving, adapting and reinventing is the way to go through life!! You have all my respect and admiration.
On another note, maybe you could find another hardtail fanatic and associate with them to share the duties of hardtail party, the world needs it!
Stoked for this channel !
Big Brain Party ✌️👽🍷
We are here to support it.
Excited to see what's next!
We are with you Steve! Excited to see you next week!
Love your content! Looking forward to seeing even more of it!
Great to see the new channel, look forward to learning along the way
Congrats on this new adventure, Steve. Super excited for you!
subbed! stoked for this steve. have you ever thought about doing a podcast? it would be super interesting to hear long form conversation with some of these frame builders and even other industry folks!
I've thought about it, but it seems impossible to make enough money doing it to make it worth the energy. I suppose each youtube episode could be easily turned into a podcast.
New channel sounds dope! Sending love and healing energy man
All the best Steve! Looking forward to this new approach
Good job mate!
Stoked to see what you’ll accomplish on this new channel! You inspire us all!
I'm excited about the new channel. Looking forward to learning more from you!
Looking forward to this. Great job staying positive and continuing to move forward Steve.
Best of luck to you in this new endeavor! Hope your health continues to trend upward.
So excited to see the evolution of hardtail party! So happy for you!
Looking forward to your new channel, as usual you have created a memorable logo , it makes me smile . Best of luck , subscribed and watched them twice . Cheers .
Bro so much love.
As much as I'm sorry that the circumstances are what they are, this new channel sounds like it's going to be an awesome place to learn. Wishing you rapid success and recovery Steve.
Here for it all, Steve! Love your content and your respect your expertise! I really appreciate your great attitude as well.
No problem, I support you too.
Subscribed Steve! Sorry you haven’t been able to ride the way you want to, but looking forward to what you can do in this forum too. As bikes go, variety is definitely the spice of (bike) life!
Excited to geek out with ya Steve. HP is one of my favorite channels so to get your technical content on another will be rad.
This sounds great! Steve is evolving.
Hang in there Steve!
You got this, man. I'm sure you are going to SUCCESS!!! 🤟🏼😝
Looking forward to your pivot with this new channel.
Steve, way to stay dynamic and adapt when the only constant is change. Looking forward to the new channel and hoping you can get back to enjoying bikes on your own terms!
Got you broski!!
Love your HTP content, let's go BBP!
I've learned so much from your review system. Talking about who a bike or component is for and who it's not for just brings it all together for me. Let's go! 🎉
God Bless you and I pray this is a success for you and your family.
This is great
I hope you find solutions soon for your health! Excited to see the new channel grow and to help you and your family any way we can :)
Like the new channel name. Subscribed.
I love Hardtail Party and I know I’m going to love this channel too!
Just subscribed. Looking forward to your new channel
I do love my hardtails but this sounds like even more fun. Excited to see where this goes.
Love Hardtail Party.
I learn a lot from Hardtail Party.
Let’s go, Teach 🤙🏼
Still here for thst Party in the Mountains & looking forward to the content!
Yeah this sounds like it's going to be cool.
You are a great presenter/ you tuber. I’ll absolutely support this channel. Love all of your content.
Behind you Steve, as a fellow bike nerd I love having someone that thinks the same way and can explain things so well I show so many people your videos because you actually do the things I talk about. Coming from the BMX racing world I used to get frustrated with a lot of the common thinking about geometry and sizing, that was a sport where bike and component fit to the rider was so critical and everyone seemed to want to point to an old sizing chart that had been circulated and copied for the last 20 years with no data or proof. Also the thinking that frame geometry numbers were fixed in stone no matter what when in actual fact the parts you build your bike with and even tire size can change that and there is no way of knowing the actual measurements without building a jig like you did. I did it a little low tech with a rear wheel stand, pushing;g the front wheel agains the wall and using a plumb bob to mark the floor to measure reach and fit and show the difference a different fork or changing the bars and stem makes. So after years of people thinking and calling me crazy having someone to show them in a video was awesome.
I am a fellow hardtail enthusiast too, because of my bmx background it feels like a comfortable and safe place where I’m more connected to my bike and the simplicity and elegance of them. I built up my Kona Honzo ESD after watching some of your videos and doing my own tinkering and love riding it. I even experimented with single speed on that bike after watching you do it. By no means do I only ride my hardtail, full suspensions are so good these days that it doesn’t make sense to just ride my hardtail, but that said I resell and buy new full suspensions every couple of seasons but my hardtail is a permanent bike that I have no intention of selling, I will continue to tinker and refine and replace parts on it, whereas my full suspensions stay pretty much stock aside from contact point and control tweaks.
I guess what I’m saying is no matter what bike or tech thing you do on this channel I will watch it if your making it, I love hardtail party but I watch it for you, your energy and enthusiasm and way of connecting with the audience and breaking things down is so special and you have a lifelong fan here. Much love and support from the PNW
Great idea Steve! I said it before it’s always been more about you than hardtails. I’m 100% sure the new channel will be great!
Thank you for the support!
Stoked for the new channel Steve!
Thanks Max
Can't wait to see the new content!
We look forward to showcasing the big brains over at Paul Component
Let's go!
Rock on Steve. I feel like you are similar to Doddy in that you could talk about bikes for ages, and I for one am open to hearing everything and anything about bikes! My current rides are a '22 Kona Process 153 DL, '21 RM Blizzard A10 and '22 Kona Rove DL. Used to own '16 Process 134, '04 RM Slayer, '10 Spec. Crosstrail. I've loved them all for different reasons.
Thank you, thats a high compliment
So glad to see this! Way to go. I am very happy you are sticking with mountain bikes as your subject.
Thanks. I was considering branching out, especially if i wouldn't be able to ride again, but I'm hopeful to be back at it soon. And... I love bikes too much to step away.
Totally understand your situation! While I love my HTs, as an older rider my FS bikes are much easier on my body. It will be fun to see how you branch out with new types of content here! Cheers!
As I said when you first announced your health issues, you do you, we'll be here.
Congrats on the New Channel. I look forward to hearing more about emtb. I don't think people respect how much they help us stay biking. I got some super lights (SL) vados and levos and also a hardtail Tero that keep me going and enjoying biking as I grow older. 💪
I’m really excited to see where you take this. I’ve already watched your pedal video and you put into words thoughts I couldn’t articulate properly. Your ID background really explains a lot about why your videos work.
Thank you
Been here since the beginning and Im not going anywhere. Would love an episode on advanced bike ergonomics!
Subbed. Best of luck with your health and the new channel direction.
Here’s a MTB subject I’d love to see a deep dive into…Sizing, and how the industry has evolved and continues to evolve to best fit the most people while balancing the development and production costs of over customizing.
You have come a long way from the early Middle Child days. I’m looking forward to this upcoming endeavor… Best wishes for BBP!
I can’t wait to talk about single pivot almost hardtail bikes like the supercaliber, epic, digit style bikes.
Could be a good conversation about basic suspension design!
I also really wish they would put a pinion on one of these style bikes. 100-130mm fs “light” bike with a pinion would be amazing. It would end up being light, but I hate maintenance and it would be worth it to me to have a gate belt rather than a chain
Super excited for this and your lemons to lemonade pivot is really inspiring. If you ever want to come ride some buff singletrack let me know!
We definitely need to ride together again.
Subbed, Steve !
Dont worry about the money thing man. Most of your subscribers will follow whatever you produce. Diversify your channel portfolio, great idea!
Dig it.
I'm in
I would subscribe to your knitting scarfs channel if you had it man. Keep bringing us your generous expertise ❤
Liked, subscribed and watched!
It's been a rough year for MTB youtube. Kyle just retired from this a short time ago, as you all know, also for health reasons. Syd and Macky seem to be getting by but with major changes, and Seth gave a long explanation of how CZcams's approach has affected what he and every other paid content maker needs to change and do going forward.
I will be watching and looking forward to your videos. I was already riding full sus for trails, but hardtails for everything else. This may sound un-exciting, but would really like a focus on skills, equipment, and where to ride for people who are not EXTREME and aren't riding double-black-diamonds.
It's like Smarter Every Day meets MTB...yeah, I think this is pretty freakin' great! Roll on, brother!!
Thanks, that's exacrly the vibe im going for! Only I don't have Destin's big brain. Fortunately, I know a few people who have big brains like him.
Glad to be here Steve
Stay strong my friend!!
Thank you for your support!
@@hardtailparty always my friend!!
