One of the best product review videos I have ever watched. No drama or nonsense talking. Very straight o the point with excellent professional comparison. Well Done!
great review. i wish the milwaukee had a cord like the dewalt.
What an awesome review. Thanks so much. I’ve been a little obsessed over these two cordless vacs and you helped me in my decision.
All my DEWALT tools have not let me down yet. The lower suction unit is probably still plenty powerful for sawdust.
I own the (similar) previous version of the DeWalt. I use it around the workshop and in the house all the time. Also, I use the blower more than I'd planned: blowing up air mattresses, cleaning computers, quick cleanups outside on my deck & sidewalk. I chose the DW as I have lots of 18v XRP betteries (and tools). I'd guess runtime is 15 min for this version. I have lots of batteries so not an issue for me.
Great comparison video! Thanks! Regarding the video, I just wish that the music was at a lower volume...
Good video with great information and performance.
Im wondering how these vacuum work when collecting fine dust if the filter clogs. I have a few cordless vacuums. The hitachi and the bosch 18 volt. I find the vacuum is good on the bosch but the filter clogs easily. What I like to see is the option of connecting to a power tool. This may require 36 volt and say 7.5 amp hour like the 56 volt ego lawn mower.
Seems the milkwaukee has a good function for sitting down and stacking tools on top.
One nice feature of the Milwaukee is that it's flat top serves as a stool for sitting. I sit on it when I'm cutting in receptacles in old work. Saves my knees and I can switch it on to pickup debris created without getting up off it. In the truck because of it's flat top you can easily stack other tool boxes on top. Not possible with the DeWalt!
Sat on your phone more like 😆
Sorry to be off topic but does any of you know a trick to get back into an Instagram account??
I was dumb lost my account password. I would love any assistance you can offer me!
@Kaiser Blaine instablaster =)
@Yehuda Rex thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
Takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
@Yehuda Rex it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thanks so much, you really help me out :D
I think for most people it depends on the battery system you use. I have all DeWalt tools so it's DeWalt for me. I don't think you can go wrong with either vac
agreed
I am returning my Milwaukee the biggest let down was the battery runtime. I'm going to go for the Dewalt.
Good review. Very articulate and accurate speaker. Keep up the good work!
Agreed. That was all on point and no ums, ah, so's or other fluff.
One of the most articulated review I've seen.
As always a great review. Your channel is by far my most favorite. Your very through and we'll spoken brother!
Thanks bro, glad you like the vids!
i own dewalt one about 6months, i have to say runtime is very important, this size vac can't do the duct control job very well, but for my exprience, 4ah can give you half hour very nice cleaning job
This Chanel deserve more subscribes very cool stuff going
Hey good review, I like that you were through on all the uses.
thanks Paolo
Thx so much. Very timely info as I am shopping for a new vac. Great job
Thank you that was a very informative review!
Good review, but how about filter size this is also important.
Excellent video! Short intro, cool music, super details, very exciting contests between the two, and answered any and all questions in the video content. A+++++ 👍👍 SUBSCRIBED!!!!! Thank you Sir!
thanks, also be sure to check out the website for daily content www.toolcraze.net
Good job on your review - very helpful. Thanks!
I agree with others, the Milwaukee vacuum makes a great stool for sitting on while you type up notes or fill out paper work, etc. Plus it's shape allows you to set tools on top of it, i.e. flashlight, etc. I wouldn't recommend it, but you could probably even stand on it for a little boost to see over something. It stores inside of a work truck perfectly. The box shape makes it ideal for sticking on a shelf. I agree the hose could use some upgrading, but it doesn't just flop around like it was shown in the video, you can leave it plugged in and curl it around and it will stay wound up.
great comparison - thanks!!
Thanks for the review, it helped me to make my decision.
I am going for the dewalt
Glad it helped out
Despite the fact I like Milwaukee more, the only reason I got the Dewalt is because it had the backup extension cord and the extension wand tucked away in the handle.
That's enough to pick the Dewalt even though its blower is weaker.
I have had my Milwaukee for over a year now and have to say it's been a valuable asset for cleaning up those small jobs. I do wish that it had the option of using a cord though. Does the DeWalt charge the battery as well?
Mike L. the dewalt corded vac doesn't charge a battery although it would be great if it did.
Thanks for your detailed and unbiased review which helped me make a good decision (Dewalt) based on what I need as a DIY homeowner.
You're welcome, thanks for watching
Power trumps runtime for a battery only option but corded trumps power with battery only. If I'm vacuuming my suv 14 minutes might not cut it. On the other hand multiple batteries could solve that issue if you remember to keep them all charged. On the other hand if you forget to keep the batteries charged you can always still use it right away with the DeWalt.
Great review, I never knew they had a blower feature.
+Jerry Hoskins thanks
A *"Vacuum"* that doesn't *Blow* - *SUCKS!!!*
JestSayin'...
I’ve had the dewalt for 2 years now and the motor has stopped working a little before a year and again a week ago. The first time was covered under warranty and this time it’s $69. I only use it to vacuum my 2 cars and my kids little messes at home. I can only imagine how long it would last if I used it everyday for work. Thinking about getting the Milwaukee but all my tools are dewalt 20v.
Javier ya lo estaba esperando.!!
... nice review, if you don't mind, I have some info on Dewalt.
First , wen is plugged in to 240 v the power is less then the battery mod .
Second , the dust filter is getting warping very fast and the power suction is reduced.
To be honest with you after I used dewalt vacuum I was very unhappy, and I could not send it back because after 10 minutes of used luck like crap .
Hi Javier, could you also include the price of the tools you review that would be of great help for the viewers.Thank you for the videos and keep them coming.
I do, I said the price of both vacuums in this video and in all my new videos
The whole purpose of a portable vac is....portability. Knowing it's a battery tool means short run jobs that don't required long periods of usage. If I were going to vacuum out the whole room then the big commercial Shop Vac comes out. If just the top of the workbench or floors in the car then this thing is perfect. My idea of a vacuum cleaner is that you can never have too much vacuum. For that reason the Milwaukee wins. No need for the AC cord on a battery unit. If I use the AC cord then the good ol Shop Vac is called in. Match the size of the tool to the job.
Awesome analysis! Thank you!
Not a bad little thing for being battery powered🌼 might suck a little harder plugged in. Extremely portable, good design, i just wish the exhaust port was in the back or other side. Seems like everytime i go to use it, the exhaust is pointing toward the debree with my first choice of attack. But i love it. Keep in mind, it's tiny, for small areas, smaller diameter hose.
great reviews, great channel overall. WHY DO YOU HAVE LESS THAN 11k subscribers??? That's what more surprising to me!
+AFTRMTH thanks man
Thank You great job!
I got 12amp biggest one it fits and works awesome little heavier but u dont need to keep changing battery
Besides performance, I always want to know how much surface area the filter has
Awesome thanks Javier I was waiting for this one! The milwaukee did look real good in performance but like U said the Dewalt has the cord option and runtime, I have both of these lines but I might just be Lookin out for a deal on the Dewalt vac! Thanks bro!!
Mike Z you're welcome Mike, I didn't know you had both lines, cool
Yea Javier I got into m18 line cus of DR and Crisk :) they helped me out with a battery and charger for a m12 tool and then U know from there lol! Plus there mechanic tools really are awesome my 2763 is a beast!!
yeah I remember you had the Dewalt 20v and M12 line. Cool! DR and Chris K are great dudes for helping you out
Great vid love your reviews
+john gibson thanks John
Evrything work better with a modification or two. But i dont see the point of getting either until they both have cords and charge thr battery also. And I really like the box shape for the fact that it stacks. Works as a little work station and or chair/stool depending on how much one weighs
well produced vid! going with the Milwaukee! all three tests were well done.
Thanks
You just make sure that you have 2 battery pack with the kilwakee .if you need more than 15 minutes.
Id rather a cleanup job be done in half the time rather than double runtime so I would have to say Milwaukee gets the nod.
What is that music background and where can I download it
Thank you for this. I made my decision with your help.
Sounds good
can you compare them to ridgid's 18v shopvac
I own and use the dewalt every day and I will admit it is very under powered but still is handy to have.
I have both Milwaukee and DeWalt tools and lots of batteries for both. After watching the video I will buy the Milwaukee. After seeing the video. Thanks
I have used both and purchased the Milwaukee. It has noticably more suction power and can be sat on/stacked with the flat top. The two downsides are the lack of a cord option and the shorter run time. Both of these concerns can be solved by buying a larger battery or two. DeWalt's cord doesn't charge the battery anyway; otherwise, that would be a solid advantage. Because the DeWalt cannot make up for the lack of power; therefore I chose the Milwaukee.
the dewalt has a 90 degree turn in it when it reaches the cover from the hose and is very small and very small stuff plugs if...this happens often and is very fn frustrating.
As other people have said, The Milwaukee probably won't need a long run time if it is picking up the mess faster. It looks like it can do more work in the 14 minutes than the DeWalt could do in 20. It only takes 30 seconds to change the battery so the run time only matters if you only have 1 battery. I recently got the Milwaukee and I was very impressed with the suction. Now I just need some M12 9AH batteries.
befru a 4.0 battery takes longer than an hour to charge on a standard charger.
The dewalt is garbage. Just picked up a milwaukee one.
Not bad for milwaukee model which age is couple years old now.
I have two cars vacuum and i do not use them due to poor performance and power.
So I vote for performance - simply you will do more job much quicker with RED that with yellow. But Milwaukee should refresh this box with brushless motor and some new features.
Compact m12 vacuum is just awesome!
Javier - thanks for good video, very interesting!
What about to test heavy duty 1/2 wrenches from red and yellow?
m301aa you're welcome and that could be a possibility in the future
2 advantages Milwaukee has over the DeWalt is that with the flat top you can sit on it if your are working close to the floor and also you can stack other stuff on top because of the flat top for transport or store.
And everything else is a disadvantage with its floppy hose and short run time
ESAS SON LAS BUENAS COMPARACIONES. DESDE COLOMBIA.
+paddy perez (cromagnon) saludos amigo!
Even though the dewalt has more run time some task take a bit more time to complete so it seems shorter battery but faster clean up but he dewalt probably still gets you a bit more clean up. It's a tough decision since the dewalt comes corded. That makes me want the dewalt even though I run Milwaukee tools and dont have dewalt batts.
Battery life is the big thing with vacuums. Working in data centres we have to use vacuums as dust extractors whenever we drill, and are constantly cleaning up after ourselves. Heavy battery consumption equates to not having a vacuum a lot of the time (and having to run a lead across the room and carry a corded vacuum, which is a lot of work when you're doing in-ceiling or underfloor). It makes a world of difference that I have a brushless (Makita) vacuum, the other guys are constantly borrowing it. The only problem with it is that the reservoir is too small to use with the (rotary) hammer drill, I'm considering the DeWalt box vacuum for that reason. Milwaukee tools are very good, but I think they're overpowered (break too much, hard to feather the trigger, get through batteries too quickly). A workmate of mine has the Milwaukee backpack vacuum, and he had to go out and buy a 9Ah and 12Ah battery to run it. The 12Ah takes half a day to charge, I'd rather run a lead!
I will buy the Milwaukee.for better performance I can just add the 9.@mp battery and will also prefer 5 years warranty
Or use the 12@mp battery 🔋
Stick the 9 ah in the dewalt and you’re still double the shitty Milwaukee run time other then blowjobs red china is inferior as a few seconds is fuck all .
W3TFART might wanna double check to see where alot of dewalt stuff is made... Smh
Good review!
I think I prefer the enclosed tools on the Milwaukee. It's too easy to knock accessories off outside mounted units. It's obvious why the run time on the Milwaukee is less, it does more work, I'll just put a larger battery in for a longer run time. Space is always a premium in my service Van so being able to stack on top of the Milwaukee is a plus. The only pluses I see with the Dewalt is the cord and hose storage. On the other hand, just about every Tradesman will or should have plenty of batteries ready to go.
I think the Milwaukee just barely edges out the Dewalt for me. The next generation Milwaukee wet/dry vac will more than likely have the cord option and better hose storage.
Does the DeWalt have any more power when used with the cord?
power is the same when powered by the cord or battery
TNX! Great review !
Thanks!
Thanks for the vid
spyderx92 youre welcome
Great video!! I really like the dewalt because it has a power cord and battery operated. It would be really neat if it could charge the battery that's in it while being plugged in. I'd like to see Milwaukee come out with a corded and battery operated vacuum also. Bottom line is if your into dewalt platform or Milwaukee platform you're going to go with the one that you already have. I have 3.0 Milwaukee batteries I wonder how long it would run the vacuum. Probably close to 10 minutes I'm guessing.
Love2boat92 thanks, would be great if Milwaukee had a cordless corded one also like you mentioned.
10 mins seems about right more or less with a 3.0 battery
Tool Craze Welcome. I suspect Milwaukee will come out with one after I buy one of the old ones. Lol.
seems about right ha
Tool Craze Yeah thats how they like to plan things. Lol.
***** Yeah. I saw that. Wonder how much the 9.0 will cost though? So if I get about 11 minutes with a 3.0 battery. I should get about 33 on a 9.0. That's a long time.
It all comes down to which brand you are invested in and nothing else matters. For me, I'm going to get the dewalt.
I'm not really arguing that the Milwalkee isn't more powerful, but in the blowing test it looks like you had the angled nozzle of the Dewalt oriented backwards.
The down side is at 100 ft away will that dewalt still reach being plugged in? The whole idea behind cordless is so that you do not need the cord ?
I said in the video that the DeWalt is cordless. Did you not see the 20v battery pack?
Great purchase And value
If it takes you 2 times longer to do the job with the dewalt because of it's power the battery times becomre similar
What about filters? Are the filters washable or only replaceable? How expensive are replacement filters?
The included filters are reusable. I wouldn't wash them. What I do is I dust them when they get full by smacking them on the wall of the trash can and they work fine afterwards. As for price, you can check out pricing online for replacements.
Will the Dewalt charge the battery when plugged into 120VAC?
no
As you use a vacuum the filter gets clogged and your suction goes down. If the dewalt is weaker, than that suction gets to a useless point much sooner. The milwaukee still has enough range to work with.
Great video mate
thanks
Did the dewalt have a rubber seal between canister and top ?
I no longer have the DeWalt vac and never checked that specific feature when I had it so I cant say either way.
Does the Milwaukee “Clamp” or “Lock” into the Packout toolbox system?
It's not part of the pack out system. Those came out several years after the Milwaukee vacuum
Tool Craze Thank you Sir. You’re the best!
I own a bunch of dewalt but have used both vacuums and prefer the milwaukee, just keep an extra battery charged. Can't go wrong with the square form factor either, good for stacking and sitting. Its pretty loud though.
👍🏼
Have never used the Milwaukee, but we use the dewalt at work. In the past year I have been there we have killed 2 without the the power cord and one with it. So yeah.
Has anyone used either of this to pick up ash and charred wood chips from a Bbq?
Does the dewalt charge the battery?
To be fair the Milwaukee design is actually quite a few years older than that particular dewalt. I do like the 120v feature that dewalt provides, but I'll stick with my Milwaukee. It's casing is tidier on the shelves of my work truck and with the 5ah and 9ah batteries runtime worry isn't a thought in my mind. I'm a Milwaukee guy simply because they have a better warranty and they manufacture certain tools for my trade that dewalt can't touch. And there is nothing worse than having two battery systems in one vehicle.
I like them both but I dont know how much the power difference will translate into time saving for all those small clean-up jobs unless you are using this for jobs that are in fact meant for larger vacs? Also runtime shouldnt be that much an issue for people with multiple batteries. The kicker for me was the Dewalt corded version but both seem great all around.
+Philip Merritt for most jobs the power difference isn't a big deal. That is until you start vacuuming upholstery like in a car. You'll definitely see the difference there.
Protecting the attachments under the top is more important, as is being able to stack items on top or use the vacuum as a seat as one other user mentioned. This is a much more valuable feature. The attachments exposed on the top on the dewalt, will be banged and broken as will the clips that hold them since they are all exposed. Protecting them is very important and will extend the life a usability of the tool. I have no issue with how the hose stores on the milwaukee. My vac sits in the truck and I step on it, store things around it and the like. The dewalt would have been broken many times already as would the attachments.
There are no clips that hold the dewalt attachments, the body itself is molded to fit the attachments
When sucking water what filter needs to b used?
foam filter
Do you know if ryobi has a cordless vacuum?
Love2boat92 they have an 18v dust buster. And according to dr99 they used to have a wet dry vac
Tool Craze Wonder why they quit making the wet dry vac?
I'd take the Dewalt the power of the Milwaukee was slightly better but the Dewalt had much better runtime and milwaukee wasn't twice as powerful 3 seconds faster isn't a deal braker
it's definitely much more powerful by my guesstimate about twice. Keep in mind twice the power doesn't always equal twice as fast as most people would think. Will double the horsepower in a vehicle make it twice as fast? will it accelerate twice as fast? The answer is NO.
So try them both vacs out for yourself and you'll see the difference in suction and blower performance
The Milwaukee it's a blast! Put a 5.0 battery fully charged; and voilà!
Yeah you may stretch run time to 15 mins then lol
Is the dewalt stronger when using the cord?
I honestly don't remember as this video was made almost a decade ago. I do however have a review on the DeWalt vacuum so you might want to check that one out for the answer.
Yes I saw that but we buy cordless for a reason. I bought the milwaukee seems to do the job fine . The reason I bought the milwaukee is I have many battles and dewalt for some reason has been changing the battery profile. The milwaukee has stayed with the m18 profile.
DeWalt is compatible with both batteries. Also Milwaukee changed batteries a while back also from their v18 to m18. Basically all brands except for Ryobi have changed batteries so it happens to all brands
the high out batteries for milwaukee also boost the suction power of the m18 vacuume :P
did you use the Milwaukee 9.0 battery?
Milwaukee M18 9.0 not out yet
Does the Milwaukee use both 18 and 28V batteries??
This one is only m18 and v18 batteries only
theres another completely different milwaukee cordless vacuum that looks the same but takes only M28 batteries
Do a review with the new Makita vacuum too agains these 2 vacuums
So, the test shows exactly what you'd expect. Dewalt has twice the runtime, and looks about 3/4 as powerful. Both of them aren't going to replace your big shopvacs and it will just depend on what you are planning on using them for as to whether or not you need that extra bit of suction.
I personally have the DeWalt and hardly use it because it's so weak. That additional power, if it is significant enough, might be nice, especially since I rarely use it for more than 5-10 mins of runtime anyways. Well, let's hope they come out with a large Flexvolt/120v shopvac on wheels that's reasonably priced. I would buy it for sure and get rid of this little car vac and my standard size vac...
dewalt has a flexvolt vac that's not a "big" vac or has wheels or 120V but it is larger than these and has more power toolcraze.net/dewalt-flexvolt-60v-dust-extractor-dcv585b-dcv585t2/
If you watch the video the Dewalt is barely even a second difference in the time it took to suck up the same pile of dust so having the advantage of longer run time and the corded option has to make it the better choice.
not true, watch closely and the pile was done much sooner than dewalt, what you see is the milwaukee continuing to pick up small bits left over but the bulk was done much sooner.
how long are the run times?
That info is in the video
I just bought the dewalt , used in swapmeet, it didn't come w 2 attachments, thx god for amazon😊
Nice!
Try a new 60 volt battery on the vacuum cleaner
The flex battery doesn't change performance, the flex battery just means you could use that battery on both the 60 volt line & the 20 volt line, it makes no difference in performance
Bro sup with the Cakita brown room
Jealous?
Ha, I spoke to soon on my last post. I would go with the Dewalt just because it has the cord.
The silly thing is the whole purpose of these products is to go cordless. If I am going to rely on a corded vacuum, I will pull out my corded vacuum which is more powerful but still convenient in size. I keep a corded vacuum as well but I hardly use it now because the milwaukee is very powerful and they make bigger batteries anyway such as the 5ah, 6ah and 9ah. If a vacuum like the dewalt is not powerful enough, it is useless and takes too long so runtime means nothing at all.
