    John, just a quick suggestion for your next high gain video: There's a free multiband de-noise plugin called Bertom DeNoiser that has a free version. It works really well to curb that awful digital interference noise that comes from your pickups being close to your monitor/tower. You could use it while recording your videos because it's a realtime/zero latency plugin.
    I've been using it for a little while now and it's made my experience of playing into VSTs so much more enjoyable because even aggressive gating didn't get rid of that interference noise behind the notes.

    There ain’t no party like a John Cordy party cause a John Cordy party don’t stop, until someone dies mysteriously in an outdoor pool.

    Have you heard the McRocklin Suite software with included Plugin? I saw a recent video, and was stunned by how great it sounded.

      It's a good plugin imo, but much less metal-oriented than this one. However, for cleans, 80s-90s crunch, leads, and synth-blended fun stuff it's pretty fantastic though. It can chug fairly well if you layer the drives, and the included effects are a nice mix of things without being overwhelming. Combine McRocklin with this Stringer suite and you'd have plenty of tones to play just about anything.

    Had a chance to watch this one and am quite blown away. Being a keyboard player who dabbles in mixing, I am much more comfortable with VSTs that the new era of modelers - or even good pedalboard arrangements. Am currently trying to try out Neural's Morgan Amp suite which does not want to work with either of my UA Apollo Twins USB on Windows 10. So I'l be tearing out my Apollo 8x TH3 off my mixing desk to see if that works. Sheesh! $100 that Neural could have had before Christmas - tisk tisk. If this plugin works I guess these guys will be getting my $100 lol.
    Happy Holiday everyone!

    I came close to buying it, but I don't need a 5150-style plugin currently. I'm more of a doom/sludge kind of metalhead, would love to play Mixwave's take on a Sunn O))) Model T (the one on the Helix is pretty good) or an Ampeg VT series (there aren't any plugin versions of those on the market, iirc).

    As far as I’m concerned, this plugin has everything I’d ever need. I was sad the Neural Granophyre model didn’t come with clean, reverb or delay. This plugin sounds like it was inspired by that modified 5150 sound, and even had a detuner so I can go to Z.

      Gojira is very good plugin but not so much for low tuned stuff. This is great for low tuned high gain out of the box and processing pre and post is very handy

      @@johnnathancordy I'll probably pick it up at some point. I tried the demo and it's a nice little departure from my typical Neural DSP and Helix Native stuff. I think it could compliment a metal-oriented plugin like this one.

    Obviously I'm not afraid of appearing stupid, so what the hell is this Djent I keep hearing about? Is this a style? Old term, or new one?( ignoramous from way down under).

    • @tonystartup3817
      @tonystartup3817 Před 6 měsíci +1

      Not knowing much myself, but it's a fairly newish term and describes that chugging down tuned style that is a popular in some genres

    • @tappistrt
      @tappistrt Před 6 měsíci +1

      It's a sub-genre of metal that's usually associated with downtuned technical riffs in odd time signatures or accented off-beats of 4/4. The guitar tone is somehwat bright and accentuates the upper mids so you can distinctly hear the complex chords or fast note runs. See: Meshuggah, Periphery, Monuments, and TesseracT, for starters. :)

      @@tonystartup3817 Thanks sir, I sort of guessed as much, but I won't be in any hurry to listen to any of it. Rock and roll is already quite physical and vigorous anyway, and it seems like teenage macho posturing in the testosterone twenties to feel the need to make it any more aggressive. Happy new year and thanks for your comment- I'm always interested in learning!

      It’s a genre of progressive metal that is named after the sound that the palm mutes make when running a tube screamer through a 5150 style amp and cranking 1.4k on a post EQ
