This video really resonates with me! I, too, have struggled with self-esteem issues for most of my life. I abhor taking pictures, and my body has always been an enormous struggle to get on with. Society makes it harder on all of us, though I believe it tends to be harsher on women in general. Sometimes I'm afraid that this is just the life I'm going to lead, as I seem to be unable to get a hold of myself and do the things that need to be done in order for me to feel better, etc. As you mentioned, trauma probably plays a big part in it, but I definitely wish I didn't get so depressed over this. Either way, outer beauty is just one of the layers that can make someone special, and it is 100% shaped by societal standards, which are all invented, to be honest. Hopefully, we can feel accomplished regardless. Best wishes from Brazil.
