"Oh cruel Poseidon, we've been scuttled!" Oh my god that made me laugh so much! Will is awesome!!!
Love Andy for not breaking when water is thrown at him.
Love Bill for breaking when water is thrown at him. 😂😅
All my favourite cast members in one sketch! :) also I like how there are old-school pirates and then a jet ski 😂😂
Annika L. yeah, they saw right through it, that is why they killed him immidiately 😂
And also, jet skies are not supposed to be out after sunset 😂
Yeah, there's like three different centuries of marine vessel crew on the shore. 😂
@UCNKr7UO8aNsuL7ZY0vuT38Q
.
2:34 Jason's what the hell 😂
I think the funniest part of any of this is how ridiculously cartoonish the sailors lol, fucking Andy dressed as a piratr
*dead* *gets splashed by water* *wipes face* *goes back to being dead*
"the sea waves" parts were brilliant. so passionate.
"The only whaling here is you whaling on my fanny!🤷♀️"
I love that line.
Age of sail pirates, wartime sailors, 80s/90s jetskier... LOVE IT!
Can't stop laugghnnnig hahahahahahahahahahaha so funny when they throw the water
"do you like salsa?"
-- "I like eating it."
😂
“I do not like your double entendres… I love them.”
I love the guy who’s throwing water at them
Lmao at 3:22 the poor dead guy had to wipe the water off his face
2:40 Jason on the jet ski dying as soon as gets splashed 😂😂😂
Is he the Captain in SpongeBob? xD
Bill and Andy giggled every time the water guy got them wet
Everyone take a moment to appreciate the description which usually includes all the names and what is going on and this one
The rocks are treacherous
1:42 bill hader can't not laugh! ahahaha
bill cant not laugh in any thing its great
2:34 - That moment when you think you hear Tom Hanks.
I like how the dead guy wipes his eyes after the water hits him 😀
This really is an underrated sketch
People throwing water on them are having there own fun. 🤣😂
I had to pause.....cuz that fool said "But they'll also accept a B.J."
LOL
I can't believe this was aired in 2009 and on CZcams since 2013 and today (in 2020) is the first time I've seen it! Funny sketch.
DwayneJohnson is so smooth in this clip 🍿
*🤣😂🤣😂Okay the person throwing the water is having WAY TOO MUCH FUN😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Whaling on my fanny?! Muhahahaha
Will Forte's screams bring me laughter.
Is it a time traveling light house? Lol
1:12 I love salsa!
OHHH CRUEL POSEIDON! WE'VE BEEN SCUTTLED!
Since they're both played by Will Forte, I've decided this is the origin story of the Sea Captain who lives in a painting in Seth Meyers' in-laws' house. This is now canon.
"what the hell!"lmao
Man, this is the reason of why Bermuda Triangle is so dangerous.
Lol those waves
Woaah I'd love get stranded with those guys they seem to be having fun
Im so confused due to all thr different costumes... is it a time-travelling lighthouse? Hehe. Love it.
If Fred was there too it should be my dream cast
"whaling on my fanny"..! I know fanny has a different meaning in American English, but even so that line was pretty scandalous for my British ears!
ClimateAdam fanny is ass.
In England "Fanny" means pussy.
We promise it's just as scandalous in American English
meansquaretech probably about the same as being a douchebag on the internet, doubt he cares
69 likes...PERFECT!!!
"That's what I like to here"😂😂😂
Yeah, get over hear.
@@jamesmcinnis208 what y'all talking bout over hear doe? 😂
Looks like they had fun filming that
Is it important to you that they had fun?
@@jamesmcinnis208well yeah why wouldnt it? You prefer watching people that are miserable doing comedy? 😹
@@leob4403 There's a third option: I don't care if they're having fun or not. What's important to me is that they're funny. That's the job of a comedian.
@@jamesmcinnis208 I'm not sure you understand how comedy works, it's a creative endeavour, it's not a job where you can just do it like a robot, if you are not having fun yourself then none of your stuff will work. The audience will notice someone that are just phoning it in. There's no way you can committ fully to a character unless you are having fun with it. If you are miserable it will stifle your delivery and it becomes awkward. Many SNL cast like Maya Rudolph and Amy poehler even talked about this being the most important lesson they learned, that they have to be relaxed and enjoying themselves and that in turn calms the audience down and they can relax take it in. Every damn comedian talks about their standup being a two way communication with the audience, and you somehow never got that?
@leob4403 Why would you be sure? You don't know me. And yet, you keep assuming false dichotomies to the performers having fun as though you do. Now, you've engaged in a condescending and obvious explanation of Comedy. I guess it's fair for you to go on the offensive, since my initial comment was mocking those who get a vicarious thrill from the pleasure of others. Maybe that's a good thing, and I'm just a grumpy old stick in the mud for wanting to find my own. Let's leave it there, shall we? It has become clear this is going nowhere, tediously.
I’m so disappointed that they didn’t take the opportunity to fit “naughtycal” in there somehow.
You know this is old when the rock has hair
Love the "Rock" 🪨!
a nice, silly sketch. I miss those. Will Forte is always a hoot and a half. I didn't even mind the standard SNL lack of a punchline.
The fact that you say "lack of a punchline" like its some inherent flaw in sketch comedy is outrageously ignorant. Binding sketch comedy to a senseless constraint like that would only make it far less funny, not more. If you routinely struggle to appreciate sketches without punch lines, develop your sense of humor a bit and open your mind.
@Kadakai j darling, my mind is quite open already. I'm quite versed in alternative comedy. Anti-comedy or abstract one like Tim and Eric or totally surreal like Xavier Renedade Angel or Dream Corps LLC are my Jaaaaam. SNL just has sometimes this tendency to just.. end sketches. Like they ran out of time or ideas. I loved the insanity of the Digital Sketches and that cast, but sometimes the writers are just not giving their best (or have the hosts ruin a theoretically great sketch)
@@GinoZumpwhy are you whining about it though? What is the point? They have one day to write these sketches, theyre doing the best they can
@leob4403 is it wrong to have high standards? Some of the older sketches were priceless. It IS possible even in this harsh time crunch, and they've shown it time and time again.
@@GinoZump well yeah Sandler and Farley was my favourite era but I don't think every sketch had some huge punchline back then either. That's not exactly the format of the show, you can't expect every scene to be the greatest ever, or to be the same type of comedy, there needs to be variation too. There were recurring sketches in SNL that I hated and skipped every time. Like that molly Shannon character for example the schoolgirl that they were raving about, she was smelling her armpits and falling through a wall then saying superstar, and everyone throw a laugh riot, was that a punchline? I was like they replaced Chris Farley with THIS? To me that was annoying and lazy writing, but hey if some people like that type of comedy then fine I'll let them do their thing.
And I get it also, not every character SNL come up will be that great and that's fine, they need recurring sketches to reduce the workload or whatever, sometimes I think they feel that if they do a character enough times then the audience will learn to like it because they become familiarized with it or something like that, it's like the Stockholm syndrome or I know there is a more fitting term for it but I'm too lazy right now to think. And the recurring sketch becomes a trademark of the show, and now they have to do it, and it becomes like this sketch didn't really work last time but maybe if we change this and this it will work, and on paper the sketch is great but on air it doesn't work, the delivery is off or whatever, it's not always the writers fault, they only have two tries to do the sketch right, that's dress rehearsal and live.
When it comes to sketches it's a bit like sport I would say, a guy that throws 40% on 3 pointers is considered a great shooter, but if you think about it, they are actually missing a majority of their shots, and something equivalent in ice hockey where Gretzky apparently said you miss 100% of the shots you don't take, and was it Michael Jordan that said something like that the champion has failed more than anyone else, even some of the most highly esteemed musicians like Paul McCartney have released mountains of poor, uninspired material, my point is that failure is a part of every challenging and creative endeavour and you have to let it be. If you want close to 100% success rate start cleaning floors or something, but what is the emotional payoff?
I'm quite sure that the opening lighthouse is Farol da Guia in Macau. It is very interesting to find your home town picture on SNL, considering Macau is a very tiny spot in the world.
Macau is as big as any other place, in the space time continuum its all relative
The guys throwing water hahaha
I love the fake 'waves' ...somebody throwing buckets of water.
That's old school 1960s and 70s Carol Burnett-style silliness.
🤦♂️:What do we do now captain
👨✈️: we wait here..for death☠⚓🚢🌊
oh wait ‘ “the rocks” are treacherous’ now I get it
OMG!
whales are calm by hearing moans then lol
the rocks came outta nowhere
I don’t like this video
I love it
God bless Will Forte!
Poor fellers were raised at sea and have no knowledge of modern times lol.
Cheetah and Black adam
the best thing about this is the water hitting andy and bill in the face
snl writers very very high when thinking of this one
When I saw Kristin Wiig, I got excited to watch this sketch right away. Her presence is funny enough. Very humorous lady.
Thanks, A.I 🙃
Hilarious 😂
The Rock is awesome
How did he switch it back on manually after it went off when he clapped his hands?
Good point.
OUR SHIP'S BEEN TORN ASUNDER!!!
lol thats what i like to hear
As quickly as those accidents happened they had to be headed right into the rocks before the light even went out. 🤣🤣 That lighthouse must have been in the Burmuda triangle for those old pirates to have crashed and be scared of a jet ski. That was so funny.
nice
Haha gets a margarita...on the rocks!
Sooo funny ahahahaha
Why was the water in his eyes more painful than the planks in his back ha ha
Me: *sees the word lighthouse in title* oh no
*Willem Dafoe: what?*
I'm getting bioshock vibes.
Colin Murphy
Uh oh yeah...
Darn, I thought that this was going to be about that Virginia Woolf book that I had to read in high school.
It's not fair how handsome some guys get to be.
That is some expert water throwing. Has to be Ivy League for sure.
The Kraken is slain. lol.
no one is going to point out that he's warring jack's shirt from bioshock?
Cacty Boi yah....and the lighthouse.... it's kinda odd
My fave part is when sudakis was impaled and still moving
The Rock came out of nowhere
How dare you mess with Lilly's territory!
So those sailors went through a time portal?
Funny
Andy mouthing stop @1:00 😂😂😂
so dramatic haha
“We wait here...for death”
Kinda like all of us in 2020 eh?
Just curious why he flipped the switch ON to turn OFF the light. Got some bad electricians over there :)
The Captain was clearly inspired by the late and great Stephen Hillenburg!
wow, even dead kraken hates water in the eyes..
The rock was 36 when this aired omg he was so small
Now he’s huge lol
Honey there's nothing small about that epitome of a man
@@Risingofthephoenixsuch a toxic male muscles are for pigs thats what they tell me these days manly men are a thing of the past 🤔
current viewers of Seth Meyers seeking clues---- Welcome!
hahahahahaha
Cheetah and Black adam together omg
Hey it’s Cheetah and black Adam going on a date
Man...it's black adam and cheetah ...
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
colin wrote that one!
