- This is why small children ask for candy. No candy for the monsters you say? Ooooh you gonna have a bad time.
I love you guys. You have been so patient. I have been so patient. This took a lot of effort. I wanted every frame to work with the next one. I didn't rush this. I am SO proud of it. I really hope it brings you joy and happiness, even if it's a story about a monster harassing a small boy. Ask me anything about this project and I will try to ANSWER everything!
Is the monster real? No one knows but the boy.
2700 handcrafted still pictures in 18 FPS, shot with a Canon EOS 600D. Animated with Dragonframe, and edited with Sony Vegas Pro.
Super Sculpey and Cernit clay was mainly used. The house was built out of foam board and then painted with acrylic paint.
Music made by Jonathan Chau. Sound effects recorded by me with a Blue Yeti microphone AND downloaded from freesound(dot)org.

Maybe the kid fed an animal (in this case the shape shifting face monster) some candy and then it just kept coming back. At first I thought the kid eventually got scared of the monster, hence the footsteps running around the house, and he throws the candy at it to make it go away. But when he asks his mom for more candy, and I thought he then must like it coming back?
I can't tell if the kid likes the monster, or just wants it to go away.
I was scrolling through some older comments and I'm glad I found yours! What you just said is exactly what I had in mind when creating this.
In my mind the kid is scared. The monster and the kid shares a bond, but there is no bond if there is no candy.

I mean dude just because it's what it's intended doesn't mean they have to like it. Also disliking is a way to show that you... don't. what's going on with the comments? almost every comment i see saying something about the amount of dislikes gets a ton of replies that are just utter nonsense. like some are just weird sentences in different languages, some are promoting other channels, and most are just random letters... this is seriously the first time that i've seen something like that happens, and it all seems recent, since there are comments from 5 months ago saying that there were only 27k dislikes, and right now its at 47k! the video has being up for two and a half years, and there is no reason that it would suddenly get such hate. someone down it the comments said this video got hijacked by bots, but i really don't understand...why??? like, its a stop motion video. sure, a very popular one, but... how come someone would want to hurt this video? its so weird.....

hey, i may have some sort of explanation! you know all those kid animation videos? the ones that are really cheaply made with animations of like, nursery rhymes with superheros? they also share the same traits as this video - millions of views, weird like to dislike ratio, and gibberish comments. if you ask me, i think this video somehow got thrown into the same algorithm as the kids animation channels did, and the gibberish comments as well as dislikes are the young children watching them that get lost in youtubes interface, accidentally liking & leaving comments. i really can't say that for sure but it seems likely based on the title (fantasia is a disney movie) and the genre of video (animation)

Hi and thanks! This was animated using almost only Super Sculpey. I don't recommend using only Super Sculpey when doing stop motion because it's a bit dense and heavy, but it looks pretty and it's great for details. I recommend going for Plastilina instead, mixed with Fimo or Super Sculpey :)

This was amazing work! I love how detailed the head is. This whole video takes skill. While he's busy making the clay and objects moving frame by frame he has to keep in mind how gravity and liquid/fluid works, but at the same time give the creatures movements that's not exactly the most natural yet at the same like it looks like proper movements. The transformation of the creatures and the sound effects are superb. Big fan of studying at different animation typed and people really don't realize the effort put into these amazing animations, but it's people who's out there willing to do these so that we have 'entertainment' and it's because of them that I'm also inspired to do in the direction of 2D animation. Respect and support from me man! Amazing work!

@@norpriest521 depends on the creator's aim. If the aim of the video is just to creep people out while sharing their creativity then they definitely got that they're out to do. Not everything has to have a clear message, they might just enjoy doing it. Back in high school too they always want to squeeze a story out of my artworks but a few is really me just wanting to create something cool, no story needed
I have no words. This video is definitely weird and a little bit creepy and disturbing, but my God, the hours upon hours of effort that surely was poured into this shows. You're videos remind me so much of DHMIS, a series I loved, but have a much more realistic feel about them! There is always suspense, which is something I struggle enjoying with films, but you create a work of art with it! Every second you wonder what will happen, will the creature change? Will the door open? Is there something wrong with the candy? AHHHHH I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!!!!!

I feel like this animation represents the eerie sounds you hear before going to bed.
You close the lights and suddenly you hear water dripping ever so slightly in your bathroom. You open the lights to check, but the moment you enter the bathroom, the sound stops.
You close the lights and try to shut your eyes. Then, you hear footsteps downstairs, but you remember, chillingly, that you live alone. The thumping gets louder, and you open the lights again to check. You step out your room and yet again, the sound stops.
Once more, you close the lights and start counting sheep. Now, a strong gust of wind bellows through the trees, making them tap and brush your windows. You here a knock on the door and your heart starts beating faster and harder until you can hear it ring through your very essence. But this time, you didn't open the lights. You shut your eyes, tight as can be.
But tomorrow you'll hear them again. And when you ignore it more and more, one day it won't come knocking.
The candy, I feel represents fear. The more you feed it the fiercer it becomes.

Wow, the visuals are simply outstanding. the first appearance of the blob thing at the start had the motion nailed perfect, that and the lighting just a perfect shot! I don't think a computer could replicate that...I could intuit the texture and consistency of the blob...and it was gross :D
Your skill set with that of a story creator (and a warehouse of "cheap labour") I'd imagine it'd be a fund-able project.
