That make a good logging truck that went on the back with a six-by-six hauling logs

    They really modernized the trucks
My unit in the reserve s got these trucks about 2 years after I retired
My last one was the M 920 with the 16 speed transmission
I hauled many a D8 completely outfitted with no problem with it

My county has one of these that they use to spread calcium on roads before snow and ice. Pretty cool trucks.

The reason for no def is that according to 49 cfr government entity vehicles are not subject and are excempt from emission equipmnet and DOT regulation, thats the reg in a nutshell.

@@xenomethean9304 def systems are the biggest waste of time and money and are more problematic than you think. The fluid itself freezes at 12°f, is EXTREMELY corrosive to anything it touches and insanley easy to contaminate. All in the name for cleaner air, diesels are 30% more thermally efficient in any capasity than any gas engine will ever be on top of being built stronger and better to boot. Why would anyone recycle their exhaust AND put that chemical back in theyre engine is beyond me. Oh wait its because commiefornia and all their bright ideas they come up with. Diesel is what moves the world and that fact will never change no matter who wants to believe otherwise.

Cool video, just wanted to see if you can actually drive these on a road as a daily driver. Thought it would take nearly two lanes at first.

Not a bad wagon except for that awful gear selector on the Allison 7 Speed Autobox, like you are selecting a favorate radio station, cannot beat the old style T-handle . Regarding the transfer box, can that be changed to one that disengages the front axle for on road driving, like the old Spicer Model 80 transfer box used in Ford Broncos. The parking sensor is a nice option but I prefer a beefy front towing pintle or clevis with the sensor mounted above. The front axle resembles a hub reduction axle made by Kirkstall of Oldham Lancashire UK, the rear bogie a single reduction spiral bevel Rockwell SQHD as fitted to Foden S 106,s. Is the Freightliner M916 also available as a 6x4 tractor unit with a KittyCat C16?.
