Glad to see Doom and his buddies the X-Men, it's kind of funny that Doom has kinda had a friendemy relationship with in the comics... so this doesn’t feel as weird as you'd think, also glad to see Doom is at least decent

Great video. I just completed this mission myself. I love this game

Thanks for the video. You should gain full power when you saved a bystander btw. (That’s helping a lot)

Shoutout to @maxducoudray for finding these!
    Some mishaps:
    - I said Brutes are worth into 1xp “unlike Guards in Zombie Mode.” But Guards are also worth 1xp. Only Heroes are worth more than 1xp.
    - On Juggernaut’s first turn, he moved freely through a Zone with two Walkers. It takes one extra action per enemy to leave a Zone.
    - When you activate a spawn zone (like the green one on turn two), you are meant to flip it to red. This isn’t technically necessary, but it saves you the effort of remembering which are active.
    - In turn three, you forgot to actually spend 2 Power with Doom to finish Colossus. When you thought you accidentally robbed yourself of an action later, you inadvertently restored the correct game state. 😅 Also, you spawned Mystique one Zone closer than you should’ve, getting a free attack on Kitty.
    - When Kitty almost died to the Runners, you technically couldn’t spend the Power to save her because you have to pay that at the beginning of the enemy phase, but I support fudging this for the playthrough to continue. Also, you said the Runners would move in and attack twice, but it would be two total activations: move and attack once. Of course, it made no difference since they got Abigail on the first hit.

I’ve really been enjoying these videos. Definitely has me feel like I have a rough handle in the rules enough that when my pledge gets here I’ll be able to dive in and play.

Cool! Glad to hear it :). Any idea which heroes/zombies you're going to start with?

I just finished the historic Claremont run on Uncanny X-Men from 1975 to 1991. So I’m really pumped to play different versions of the team from that run!
But also if a game lets you be undead Doctor Doom you be undead Doctor Doom!

I've really liked your playthroughs. It's amazing how some characters make a big difference in the way the mission plays, especially in the red level. I was not expecting Kitty Pride to be so good, especially after I found Mystique quite disappointing.

I really like that about the game, hopefully that means that some heroes, who might seem weak, can actually be quite powerful in certain scenarios or situations.

I’ve been enjoying your playthroughs of MZ as I wait for my copy here in the US. I listed lots of corrections, but I wanted to post separately to add some positivity. I’ve played Zombicide almost one hundred times and we all make lots of these small mistakes when we’re first learning the game. Keep at it!
I thought I’d offer two small strategy tips, as well:
First, try to take actions with indeterminate outcomes first; that is, those involving rolling dice or drawing cards. An example from your first X-Men scenario was Colossus rescuing a Bystander and then opening a door. If you had drawn a Rush spawn, zombies would’ve moved onto Colossus and he’d likely take some hits. But if you open the door first, in that same potential scenario you can attack because you didn’t commit your final action before learning of the unknown outcome.
Second, I think you’re too enamored with Powering Up. That action essentially provides two extra dice on an attack, but all attacks generate at least two dice already. In this scenario, you spent a turn with Juggernaut on Power Up, Attack, Power Up, Attack for ten dice. Four attacks would have been twelve dice. While it’s critical to get a lot of hits on Heroes, you should never Power Up your attacks against Walkers and Runners unless you have some special benefit (such as Kitty generating extra Power for an ally). Not only is it no extra dice, but your overcommitting actions (you might get lucky and kill on fewer dice, leaving additional actions after all enemies are dead).
    Thanks for posting these!

Loving these. How are you picking the heroes? Doom was a surprise addition given the predominantly X-men roster. Wonder how a full team of telepaths would do (Prof X, Phoenix, Emma Frost, and Psylocke)
One note though, Guards also only give 1 XP. Only heroes (living or zombie) give XP based on their toughness

I picked the heroes according to what people asked for 😅 and I also really wanted to play Doom tbh.
I’ll keep your telepath team in mind for a future run 😁.

When issuing corrections at the beginning, you said Brutes are worth only 1xp “unlike Guards in Zombie Mode.” But Guards are also worth 1xp. *Only Heroes* are worth more than 1xp.
On Juggernaut’s first turn, he moved freely through a Zone with two Walkers. It takes one extra action per enemy to leave a Zone.
When you activate a spawn zone (like the green one on turn two), you are meant to flip it to red. This isn’t technically necessary, but it saves you the effort of remembering which are active.
In turn three, you forgot to actually spend 2 Power with Doom to finish Colossus. When Kitty almost died to the Runners, you technically couldn’t spend the Power to save her because you have to pay that at the beginning of the enemy phase, but I support fudging this for the playthrough to continue. Also, you said the Runners would move in and attack twice, but it would be two total activations: move and attack once. Of course, it made no difference since they at Abigail on the first hit.
You put a note on screen that says “Doom could use X power to increase die rolls + X,” but his orange skill specifies you may not select the same option more than once, so you can never get more than +1.

Great playthrough, just a few mistakes but not that gamebreaking. Don’t be so harsh on yourself because I’ve played plenty of zombicide and sometimes I still overlook some stuff. Plus you’re playing by yourself so there’s no one with you at the moment spotting any mistakes.
Just a few tips, don’t power up all the time just to kill two or three mob at a zone. Saw too many overkills jajajaja. Pull traits often, those are very helpful. The rest is up to you to gain experience with more games. Cheers.

Gain trait action is only once per turn. You took 2 traits with Dark Phoenix with her last 2 actions.

      @mihaiovidiu82 Před 10 měsíci +1

Skills that allow you to draw traits are not included, but as an action you can only get one.

      Good catch, thanks!
I think she lost the second trait later on so I guess that was karma then 😅.

When you power up Juggernaut in turn 1, why did you go to 2 instead of 1? You started his turn using his 1 power to use Know Who I am, thus bringing his power to 0. And using Power Up cost an action too.

    • @somanygamessolittletimesmg7725
      @somanygamessolittletimesmg7725  Před 10 měsíci

He started with 1 power, so power up reduces it to 0, then power up increases it to 2 again. I think that’s how it went.

  • @mihaiovidiu82

Yeah Jugg can take all the hits, doesn't say like Kitty that you can't allocate them.

The game spelled Pryde incorrectly. It’s always been spelled Pryde in the comics.
