This book sounds great! I'm certainly interested in reading and maybe even reviewing it. Your point about simplistic theories about human nature, which are at work behind the scenes in some books, is quite important. You said you wouldn't have finished the book so quickly if the characters could've been explained easily and simply. Great books usually offer a theory of human nature, while at the same time offer challenges (anomalies) to that theory, as well, preventing the theory from completely swallowing the characters and their fates. Thanks for this review!

Thanks! The author also has another short book "Paradais" coming out in a month that's been very well-received in its non-US releases, so that one might be worth a read too. I'm certainly looking forward to it myself
