  • Welcome to BANDUNG one of Indonesia's top culinary hot spots. This city was highly requested by you for me to visit, so here I am and it's time to eat! In this episode I'm taking you for a massive street food tour to 7 different unique Bandung stops. From street food frog legs to udder sate, we're going to feast.
    The Sundanese are a tribe native to West Java and Bandung. Their food is simple and eating alongside fresh herbs and veggies. Besides the street side delights I'll also take you to one of Bandung's top Sundanese restaurants : Warung Ibu Imas.

    Hes even more “indonesian” than me, dipping crackers to the mie kocok soup, eating with hand, and he ate sambel as well. What im proud of is, he pronounced Bandung correctly, unlike many other foreigner.

    This is one of the few Indonesian Street Food journeys I can appreciate.
    The Sundanese appear to take pride in their cuisine and their cooking environment.
    Bandung is definitely a city I can look forward to visiting.

This area reminds me of my travels through Mexico, Canada, the USA, Europe, and the Mediterranean Basin, while living in Europe. Each Culture has their own ways of living.     Yes, cheese and chocolate are going very well together for dessert. It is one of the most preferred flavours/toppings in Indonesia. And people are so sceptical about it until they try it. 🤣🤣

    Sate is definitely reminiscent of Southeast Asian food, I almost drooled when I saw it!
    That stinky beans looks so special. I wonder what it smells like. Is it really stinky?
    Sundanese roast chicken with rice is absolutely delicious, all the food in that restaurant looks delicious!
    You dare to eat frogs, I really admire, you really have courage!
    Glad you still remember Taiwanese desserts and you're right, usually Douhua is sweet and tofu is salty! Douhua is amazing!
    The last Martabak Manis is so charming, I would like to eat it even if I will get fat, thank you for your introduction and sharing! 👍🤩🙌

      @@giannishen there is another kind that taste better, Made from dogfruit...but the aftermath on the bathroom is worse than when you eat stinky beans
      Stinky Beans/petai is lightweight compared to dogfruit/jengkol

    Although it’s quite common in Chinese Indonesian food, not all of us are familiar with the frog dish, swikee. The name comes from Hokkien 水雞 which means “water chicken” as people would always say “It tastes like chicken!” 😅

    Ibu Imas' sambal (and also that bitter salad) is really really spicy, even many Indonesian people can't handle it :D But still, my favorite Sundanese restaurant
