Guys I'm telling you this dude is a musical genius. This song alone has so many cool music theory bits going on it's actually insane. Bill Wurtz is pretty big, but I still think the world is sleeping on him relative to his skill.

@@_Super_Hans_ pick a spot in the song at random and there's something interesting and usually sorta complex going on, there are some funky chord changes that sort of tease a different key but then end up landing back on key naturally which is pretty rad, I forget what it's called but tempo changes that relate to the original tempo are really cool and he makes very effective use of that, the ways he extends phrases to not fit the traditional 4 or 8 bars is masterful and sounds natural, the rhythmic dissonance he creates by pulling the up beat from 2 and 4 or just 2 in 6/8 and putting it elsewhere then lining it up to land back on beat is really good, calls and answers are great, there's always a rhythm or set of notes that tell the listener where we're about to go, instrumentation is fantastic, etc etc etc. It's like he's floating through the music and can make it go anywhere he wants at will and he just nails every twist and turn nearly without fault.
That's what I remember of it from a few hours ago, but it's true of most of his music. Do I need to listen to the song a second time to give specifics? It sounds like you're challenging the cleverness of his writing but I think it's very clearly quite clever.

I can imagine professors one day discovering Bill and using his songs for classes in music, art, philosophy, writing...
