Celeste TAS: All old D-sides in

- The D-sides are a custom map pack for Celeste (think Kaizo maps). They are a lot more difficult than regular Celeste, and some sections are very precise.
While there is new ones, especially of 3D,6D,8D and 9D, I wanted to get this out since we've been working on it for a long time. Expect a video of the new ones in a month of so.
This is a TAS of all of them. It is over 2 minutes faster than the previous released version, with time saves of:
City: 5s
Site: 3s
Resort: 17s
Ridge: 22s
Temple: 14s
Reflection: 20s
Summit: 53s
Core: 1s
I've been working on this on and off after the previous release 9 months ago. Huge thanks to Fishmcmuffins and Euniverse for helping with various levels, and Rubydragon and RichConnerGMN for some strats. I hope it is enjoyable.

If the spikes are moving towards you by platform wind etc you can keep doing spike jumps and not take damage. Idfk why that works but ok
When I first saw d sides by watching the prologue of another video, I thought, "this is fake." Then I saw this video and realized it had to exist. I read the description and found out that they are custom maps.

Yeah sorry, unfortunately this was completed literally a week before the new d-sides came out. I wanted to publish it since it's been in the works for a year, but definitely a bit misleading. Updated the title and description to clarify. While it's hard to say when the new all d-sides will come out, it probably will be around a month.

i was surprised to see that d-side hearts are purple. I always thought of the 4th harmony color following red, yellow and blue was green, so seeing purple here was a bit of a surprise

Great question! I personally found cycle rooms very difficult, so 3D in particular was hard because of that. However, each chapter has its own difficulties, so hard to say for certain.
And how long did it take, each chapter and overall?

i used to play celeste a lot, and i was pretty good at it. i did all the b and c sides, got all the crystal hearts. i came back to it a while later for chapter 9, and i did that too. i recently tried the game again and now i’m a lot worse, but i’m confident that i could do these (with a lot of trial and error) if it were 2 years earlier.
The TAS has become far too powerful, I think we might have to put it down, If we even can at this point.

What inputs does the TAS do to just phase through the ice spikes? Is it possible for a human to do it?
In the dream chapter, a bird is confused about button inputs. But it's actually the combination for a demo dash, I think.
Also, no fear. If you press a direction on the spikes other than where they point, you ded. If moving in their direction, feather jumps. Not that I can do either trick.

Yeah, there's a lot of different ways to jump on spikes. Basically, if anything other than you is moving (including the wind pushing you), you can usually jump on spikes.

I’m not very experienced in speedrunning. I’m fairly sure TAS means tool assisted but was this performed by a person? If so is this one run or a spliced version of the theoretically perfect run?

not only is it a bunch of clips spliced together but they can replay individual frames and have loads of savestates to do frame-perfect tricks

if you're moving away from the spikes, even at an extremely low speed, they won't kill you. so you can just alternate pressing right and pressing nothing every frame to go really slowly
