My wife had a Toyota Camry that for some reason was better than they claimed. I have no idea how it happened, but she was getting 46 miles per gallon. We never thought of it until we made a trip to Califuckednia. We left Mesa Arizona on a full tank and we got to San Diego non stop, and didn’t put gas until 3 days later on the way back home when we stopped in Yuma… burning 13 of the 17 gallons. And she doesn’t drive slow. We had it for 10 years and it was in mint condition, but just traded it for a PASSPORT TRAILSPORT. Whoever bought it will be a happy camper, even if they never know about the excellent gas milage.

It was a way to get a "Lexus" without "showing off" in the way a Buick Electra was a way to get a Cadillac DeVille without "showing off" (Back when the names "Buick" and "Cadillac" still had their original meanings). Yeah, if I remember correctly, the Mach-E “Mustang” was originally supposed to be the Mach-E Escape, but they rebranded it last minute to get more sales as a “Mustang”. The only ones I’ve seen that come close to real Mustangs are the track models in the commercials/tests that are so heavily modified they’re totally different vehicles. Nice enough electric SUV’s, but definitely not “Mustangs”. Sacrilegious to call them “Mustangs”, in my personal opinion. Great find with the Avalon! Those are fantastic cars! I had a ‘99 and it ran fabulous as long as I had it. Miss that car!

Ford saved the Mustang in 2005 by going retro with the styling.... only to fall back into modernist perversion of the car in 2010. I don't see Ford ever going back to the Mustang as a cheap fast car for the masses. It's time to retire the Mustang for good.

Did you happen to own the first year of a new model? I've been cursed that way. My 2013 Lexus GS 350 had a weird intermittent electronic steering rack problem. Other than that it was perfect! Owned a 2007 GS 300 before that, it has weird intermittent transmission issues. I now own a 2007 Tundra and it has some quirky issues. All of those vehicles have been first year models. From everything I read on the forums and knowing how Toyota operates, they iron out all those issues by the 3rd year of a new model. So when buying a used Toyota product always keep that in mind.
