      Omg…that sounds amazing. I’m a first time mom and have a 3 week old. I just took my solly wrap out of the box. Tried to put it on but baby wasn’t too patient with me, so I’ll revisit once hubby is awake. Can’t wait to eat too! All I do is hold her.

    love a stretchy wrap, and I really like how light the Solly is, but as a babywearing educator, I do not ever recommend putting baby's head under the panel; this doesn't allow them to move their head if they need to and often leads to baby being chin-to-chest, or neck hyperextended. I learned a cool trick to roll a burp cloth into the pass across the back and it works as a little extra bumper for tiny babes who still have very floppy necks!

  • @chipomwape3668
    @chipomwape3668 Před 3 lety +81

    Wow, this is complicated (not criticism but am just in awe). Us Africans (Zambia to be specific) just tie the baby once at the back and we can still move the baby to front for feeding, while doing some chores, without untying the wrapper. After feeding, just push the baby to the back and carry on with your chores. No time to criss cross or weave the wrapper around the body.... Chores have to be done. However, we can only carry a baby like this after they are 2-3 months old when their neck is stronger, otherwise you have to hold their little heads throughout.

      Always great to see once people answer their own questions or falsify themselves in the same statement.
      Makes things noch easier, almost as easy as if they wouldn't have posted in the first place, saving their - and others' valuable time, for example for those important chores.
      As stated already before, that's the newborn carry, from day zero.
      There are of course many other options later on with a stable neck, including simple one shoulder sling carry etc.

    Complicated and no matter what you do it gets loose. Especially for newborns their head has no actual lateral support and so links sideways. Maybe better for larger babies which, at that point, your better off with something that has structure to support your back. Looks cool. Actually use was marginal at best.
