Very nice video. Thank you for sharing. I suggest the following optional modifications to the recipe:
1. Use Taiwanese cabbage specifically. It is similar to the green cabbage used in this video, but it's slightly flatter in shape and is naturally higher in sugar content and more tender than green cabbage. With this you can reduce the amount of sugar added to the sauce by about 50%.
2. Use the hard part of the cabbage leaf, but keep it separate from the tender part. Add it to the pan a few minutes before the soft part and they will all cook together nicely.
3. For the sauce mixture, add a small amount of corn starch before mixing and it will be slightly thicker, but still taste the same. It helps with the final texture and coats the leaf better.
4. Use Chinkiang vinegar specifically for anyone that wasn't sure which type to use. It will taste much more authentic than balsamic.
5. Add ginger (same amount as the garlic), for some additional flavour. You won't regret it!
6. Leave out the Sichuan pepper corns.
7. When tearing the cabbage, use larger pieces of cabbage (double the size used in this video) as it will be easier to pick up regardless of whether you use chopsticks or a fork.
I’m about to try this out tonight!! 🤩 also you have the nicest voice ever like wow✨
Just tried it without vinegar, very yummy. Added everything bagel seasoning and red pepper flakes...loved it

Great Dish!!! I happened to have a cabbage in the fridge so I tried this. It was so easy I didn't even have to write anything down. I used dried red pepper flakes & a bit of chopped fresh red pepper for color. Thank you!!

What type of vinegar, do you use ?
Black vineger, regular vineger works too.
Look for Chinkiang vinegar for the most authentic taste!
Why do you add sugar la ??
Hello paldan la good jop
Can we make it without the peppercorn or is that important
Yes , you can make it without pepper.

What kind of Vinegar was that?
It's best with Chinkiang vinegar!
Jangyuel is Soya sauce?and what is Tsue?
the latter is vinegar
@@PaldensKitchen Thank you..
What language is this? Sounds new to me
Lhasa Tibetan
wyakpo dugh pey shinboh dugh
Hi
What language are you speaking?
Tibetan.
@@PaldensKitchen cool! I love languages but I'm not familiar with Tibetan so I couldn't recognize it.
What language is he speaking?
Tibetan
Is this salad? It is not cooked properly. Also at 2:15, it says "add 1 tablespoon soya sauce and 1 tablespoon vinegar." But it looks look like you added 2 tablespoon soya sauce. Or is the second one a type of vinegar (black one if there is one)?
I used black vinegar. Stir frying the cabbage in a hot pan cooks the cabbage fast, no worries.
@@PaldensKitchen
ok. Thanks. Black vinegar is new to me. I have seen it!
