I’ve been living in China for twenty years , the only time somebody stole my belongings was two months ago when I landed in the Beijing Daxing international airport from Hong Kong, I was sitting on a bench in the International Arrival Hall playing with my phone, and when I left, my wallet fell out of my pocket. Five minutes later I realized my wallet was gone, so I went back to look for it, but it was gone. I went to the police station to request a surveillance camera, and found out that it had been stolen by another foreigner.😅😅

The PRC restricts residents' access to certain domains. Isn't this something the Myanmar military government learned from China?
You're only using a small portion of China that you see to define the entire country, just like how not all of the United States is filled with homeless people living in tents, as you well know.
And Chinese people clearly discriminate against Xinjiang people. Of course, the majority of people are friendly. Isn't that the case in the United States too? Are there more racists than normal people?
Do you know how many people were beaten and arrested by the police during the Hong Kong anti-extradition protests? Do you know what happened to the journalist who first reported Wuhan as the epicenter of the COVID-19 outbreak in China? Her name is Zhang Zhan. You better find this journalist and hope she's still alive.

Freedom of buying medicine from drug stores everywhere without a prescription? Not always. I tried to buy some medicine for pain relief but couldn't because I did not have the certificate required. Had to ask my wife to buy it.
Freedom of fishing at random lake or river without a license.. There are a number of places where fishing is not allowed and there are signs saying so. However, they are generally ignored. Where I live, Fishing has been banned from March 1st to May 31st on inland waterways. Again that has been ignored as there are dozens of people fishing. No one gets arrested for breaking the law on fishing.
Drones are allowed in China under the following conditions:
Maximum altitude: 120m (400ft); anything higher necessitates a CAAC commercial license. Most drones, including the famous DJI brand, automatically set the maximum altitude to 120m and warn you if you manually adjust the maximum altitude settings.
Maximum Distance: China, like many other countries, requires your drone to have a VLOS, or “Visual Line of Sight.” Put another way, you must fly with your drone in sight.
Maximum Weight: China requires real-name drone registration for drones weighing more than 250 grams (.55lbs). Any drone weighing more than 7kg (15 lbs) requires a special CAAC license. And, yes, because the DJI Mavic Mini weighs less than 250 grams, you do not need to register it.

      Longer than that
China is a harbinger for these Western Countries electing these right wing Governments looking to close off their borders
China spent the better part of a millennia trading places with what is now India for top economy in the world
By the 1430s it was the top economy and technological leader in the world . But their emperor at the time started the slow process of closing in on itself closing off its borders/a type of nationalism
Like we are seeing with far right Governments and the Americans these days
This lead to 400 years of decline and then an eventual semi colonization of China for 100 more years
Where even up to the 1980s China was 88% in abject poverty
These days they are back and they never did run up the external debt like the Americans are running up these days

What’s interesting is that many Western vloggers love to use the Chinese police as their video covers - whether they love or hate China. It seems that in the eyes of Westerners, China is a military state/police state, and Chinese people are very afraid of the police.
On the contrary, we Chinese call soldiers "people's son & brother army". The most reassuring thing is to see the soldier or police. In the eyes of most people, the police/soldiers are the most trusted people besides their own family members. A mother with her baby in public who wants to use the restroom will hand the baby over to a nearby police officer. People who violate traffic rules but are not convinced will loudly argue with the police without any fear. There was a shortage of masks in the early days of Covid, and people would donate their masks to the police station. When drivers drive pass a police officer on duty, they will hand them a bottle of water. Some little kids even hug a policeman when they see him on the street.

Most settlers were unarmed. The rich weren't robbing the poor land owners as a matter of course. Why would they? Most of the country was effective empty. You could go days without ever seeing anyone. There was some land theft but it was Federal Government who granted the railroads 2 miles to either side of the track. If you had a homestead in that zone you had to go. Lastly Shane is fiction.
