I guess it depends how you look at it. Seems to me you have a lack of predators in the area. One fox or coyote will reduce their populations in one season.
I don't have a problem attracting birds, there are dozens of them eating seed out front as I type this. What I'd like to know is, how do I keep the freakin' squirrels away? 😂
There are metal squirrel proof feeders that work very well. They are more expensive but likely the last bird feeder you’ll ever need to buy. No more chewing.
@StefanSobkowiak Thanks for responding! I have two squirrel proof-feeders (they are hilarious!), but I like to feed the ground feeders, like juncos and mourning doves. I may have to build a platform on a pole with a metal cone to stop the squirrels. Maybe even a platform between two poles to increase the number of birds. Right now, I go through 1,400 pounds of seed in 5 months, most of which is eaten by squirrels, and the occasional raccoon at night.
I love this!
I love Black Capped Chickadees.
Squirrels, chipmunks and raccoons are the issues I deal with. They really impact bird numbers in my yard--they eat the eggs and baby birds..

More entertaining than TV
When can you start training limbs? After frosting is done?
When leaves are fully out and sap flow is high.
