DBZ Broly gets painted in such a bad light bc everyone thinks “his backstory is he didn’t like Goku’s crying. So lame” NO THAT’S NOT IT! Goku’s constant crying brought attention to him and Broly (right next to him) was getting upset about all the crying. Him being upset spiked his power level to 10k and King Vegeta ordered Broly and his father killed. So Broly doesn’t so much hate Goku just for crying. He hates him for crying and subsequently sentencing he and his father to death
Also just seing Goku/Kakarot reminds him subconscionsly of the worst day of his life, being stabbed thrown in the trash and having his home planet explode . . .
Yes, he suffers from terrible PTSD, the cries trigger his bad memories when he got stabbed and thrown to trash with his father and had to escape the planet explosion which can be seen in this movie and especially in movie 10 where he links the crying thing with his last defeat vs Goku so the cries make him remember bad events and the pain he endured and this is why he gets so angry. He got angrier in movie 10 where he lost most of his sanity, hatred blinded him to the point where he mistakes Goten and Gohan for Goku, probably due to their ki feeling the same as their father, just like when Goku met Zamasu and they fought together, Goku noticed that Zamasu's ki was feeling similar to Goku Black's ki. Anyway, all of this PTSD thing is confirmed by Shigeyasu Yamauchi himself in a jap interview where he literally says that Broly suffers from terrible PTSD.

I always thought this movie was funny and I'm so hype because Broly transforming is always been one my favorite DBZ moments.

The Broly movie would take place in the week they had to prepare for The Cell Games, wich is funny because Broly is atleast as strong as Buu 💀.
I say this because he destroyed South Galaxy, now Buu (Kid Buu specifically) destroyed several galaxies through his life. But here is the thing with DB lore : North, South, East and West Galaxies are quadrants (meaning that they are individually a massive collection of galaxies wich probably reach the millions), so Broly pretty much nuked a chunk of the Universe while being in base 💀.

Spineless DBS fans always try to mock this by referring to his retcon on his second movie where he fought Gohan, Goten and Trunks.

At this point in the movie I definitely see broly as equal to or nearly as strong as perfect cell. But super perfect cell definitely puts him in the ground at this point if we using him from the first broly movie
Broly certainly looks super tuff
Goku and Gohan were fresh out the time chamber at this point, and while Cell was stronger than him, Goku was able to hold his own. The fact that Broly took on all of them at once with little to no effort puts him above Cell (before he regenerates from his explosion)
@@YungandRekless545 Not rlly. It took one punch from an amped up ssj to beat this broly. We also see in the gohan vs cell fight that cell was holding back heavily vs goku because perfect cell powered up to full power enough and had enough speed to catch ssj2 gohan offguard with a punch which definitely puts him above broly from the first movie

@@weebclub I mean it's the same lazy pattern in all DBZ OAVs, Z fighters pass out after 2 punches, Goku/Gohan tortured for a good 20 mins, villain gets killed with a punch in stomach or spirit bomb. Earns the title of shittiest writing in the history of manga lol
