Miss Biss, one of the unique talents that Vulcan have is the Vulcan Nerve Pinch. All through the original series Spock almost never hit anyone because he never had to. He just reaches out and pinches them very lightly on the shoulder/side of the neck and they pass out. So when he’s fighting Khan he tried to do that and the struggle on Khan’s face was to show he was so powerful that Spock couldn’t just overload his nervous system. You seemed confused, but there’s no way you could know about that since you haven’t watched much Star Trek.

Class M comes from the Vulcan classification (M for Minch'ara) that Earth took as a reference. It describes livable planets for humanoïds like us or Vulcans. IRL we would classify those as Earth type planets.
The big disk on the front of the cylindrical part of the ship is the main deflector, pushes space dust out of the way. Can emmit some EM waves too to serve as long range sensor or transmitter in some circumstances.
Vulcans are telepaths although it requires contact, physical or close. In the Ancient Vulcan practices, Vulcans mindmelded with a dying person to keep that person's memory intact, so their knowledge and experiences were not lost.
The Vulcan Nerve Pinch (on the neck) is designed to make someone lose consciousness. Doesn't work on every species though.
Fun fact, in the previous movie you watched, the Klingons actually captured Nero and tortured him but that scene was scrapped from the movie.
Uniforms color code in those three movies and the Original series: Yellow/Gold : Operations/Command. Blue : Science/Medical Red : Engineering/Security. In The Next Generation era productions, Gold and Red are reversed, Red is Command and Gold is Operations/Engineering/Security.
Kronos should be spelled Qu'onos or I never know where the ' is supposed to be anyway, Klingonese is quite a difficult language (that you can learn for real... but be ready to have mediation for your throat)
Kahn's story is a little different in the Second old movie, you should watch TOS episode Space Seed first. The problem with Into Darkness is that it changes what Space Seed would have been in making Marcus and not Kirk find Kahn, that's why watching the episode is better to understand Wrath of Kahn to see the original succession of events. Although, I don't remember seeing the actual episode before the movie (the movies summerizes what happened in the episode anyway...) so it's up to you.
Don't worry about Into the Abrams trilogy, it just introduces you to the universe in a very condensed way.
The original Kirk is flirty but not as much as young cocky Kirk here, they clearly exaggerrated the "womanizer" side of the character.
You are smart enough to detect a bullshit scenario from lightyears away, that's why you will love the old movies.

If you watch Wrath of Kahn without watching Space Seed, you will be watching all three in reverse order. The correct order and the one that would allow you to watch and not end each with more questions is "Space Seed", then "Wrath of Kahn", and lastly "Into Darkness".

There are going to be people (just like in any fandom) that don't like reboots, or complain about ine thing or another, but as a fan of TOS, the original movies, TNG and the Star Trek universe, I'm glad that these new movies have brought newer fans into the universe and made them curious about exploring more. There are many things about this newer series of movies that will be difficult to understand regarding the importance of because of how it relates to the original series and movies, but if you choose to continue your journey and go back and watch them, will end up making much more sense. So many people choose not to do Star Trek because it is pretty vast, with lots of shows and lots of science things. However, there are many things in real life that have been directly inspired from the movies, including the old flip cell phones, as they look like TOS original communicators and more recently with tablet computers. Don't be intimidated and enjoy the ride. Many of us older fans are just happy that new people take a genuine interest in the universe. 🖖

He is HELL of an actor (but i guess you already noticed that). As for The Wrath of Khan (played by the great Ricardo Montalban) is the 2nd Startrek movie, so it's not such a long way til ya there when you start at the 1st one. Klingons are not really the BAD guys, just a race of awesome fighters who value honour the most. In this time here they were enemies of the federation, but later they even joined the federation. Greets from the "Kohlenpott", enjoy!

Before you watch 'The Wrath of Khan', you need to watch one of the Original Series tv episodes called "Space Seed". That episode is actually the beginning of the Khan story. The movie 'The Wrath of Khan' is the continuation of the story. If you don't watch Space Seed first, you'll be picking up the story in the middle and you will be lost.

Bisscute, in 1984 Gene Rodedenberry (the creator of Star Trek) wanted the Klingons to have a real language to speak for the third Star Trek movie (The Search for Spock). A language scientist named Marc Okrand created the Klingon language for that movie and presumably all the subsequent ones. After the Klingon language was invented, learning Klingon became a fad, and some people even attempted to publish a version of the Holy Bible in Klingon.

Hello Miss Biss!😊 Class M would be similar to Earth (nitrogen/oxygen). Other classes would be where the air is composed of different elements and probably not breathable. The other classes are rarely discussed in Star Trek. Maybe you were thinking of Dr. Who because the man that died with the ring in the beginning did have a recurring roll as Mickey Smith in the "Doctor Who" series. He was friends with the doctor's companion, Rose Tyler. His name is Noel Clarke. The uniform colors and their meaning has changed over the years , since the original series. Some of the more popular designations are Command Crew, Science, Engineering, and Medical. Khan was the result of genetic engineering to make super humans 300 years ago. The experiments were considered a failure and genetic engineering was banned in the Federation. I am still more a fan of "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" than this version of Khan. Great reactions to this well made Star Trek film, Miss Biss!!!🎬👏👏👏👏

    Star Trek planetary classifications:
D: An uninhabitable planetoid, moon, or small planet with little to no atmosphere.
G: An uninhabitable planet, probably with high amounts of volcanic activity.
H: Generally uninhabitable, oxygen-argon atmosphere (the good one are oxygen-nitrogen)
J: A type of gas giant, so no surface. (somewhat like JUPITER)
K: Barren surface, thin atmosphere of carbon dioxide, methane, nitrogen, etc. (like MARS)
L: Barely habitable, a lot of times more carbon dioxide than Earth. Mostly just vegetation-form life (flora), no animal-like life (fauna)
    M: In one word, Earth-like
N: High surface temperature, dense atmosphere from carbon-dioxide and such (like VENUS)
R: like rogue planet, not in solar system, probably vulcanic atmoshpere
T: A type of gas giant (somewhat like SATURNUS)
Y: So-called Demon... radiation, toxic atmospere, freaking high temperature, even dangerous from orbit

Khan hates Vulcan Massage is an alternative title.
Vulcans have the power to pinch a person on the neck and knock them out. Spock tries this on Khan. It definitely looks weird if you don't know about that power.
Star Trek has lots of great stories to tell. Have fun exploring them.

This has been repeatedly said by other commenters, so I'll just add my voice to the chorus: it's ESSENTIAL that before you watch "The Wrath of Khan" movie, you first watch the episode of the original Star Trek series called "Space Seed."
Also just to make "Space Seed" more understandable it wouldn't hurt to watch at least two or three other original Star Trek episodes first, just to put things in context. I'm sure your Patreon members can recommend specific episodes. If you take the time to do this you'll find that all the pieces will fall into place neatly and your enjoyment of all of the original Star Trek movies will be much greater.
