The birds not only systematically feed all the babies, they keep removing the poop from the birds and carrying it away thus keeping the nest clean. That's amazing!
This is such a beautiful wonderful nature video. These creatures go against all odds and protect their young. Inspiring yet so lovely to watch. Rains at the end, mesmerizing.
4:17 Lol how often do you see a bird chasing its own tail. Seems to have something stuck on it and the bird seriously wants it gone. I love these birds, they have so much character, they will also impale large prey on thorns so they can pull off chick sized portions to keep taking back to the nest. It is why they are also called the butcher bird
I have listened to audio of red-backed shrikes a lot, but now for a video of their actions during their time for nesting, it goes well for how they can feed such amount of chicks. Very enjoyable to watch this video of those hook-billed passerines! I liked the part where the mother red-backed shrike was chasing for the contents from an another animal (I assume) that came stuck on its tail, it's also funny a bit. xD I even loved the part where the male red-backed shrike was singing quietly on the rain and also getting washed by it. What a pleasurable, yet mesmerizing experience to see from this bird. Thank you for the videos! Never thought I would expect a video of red-backed shrikes from you, Dmitry!
Great video. Thanks for sharing. God is amazing. It’s mind boggling how after feeding the little ones, the parent says, ‘give it up now,’ and sure enough - poop! I wonder if the adults eat the little ones’ poop 💩…?! 🤔
Nice shots...as always...Infortunately in Northern Italy (Po Valley) the Shrikes are very few and in my area less and less so filming them is really hard
There was a female in my garden this summer. She spend two days around and then left. I hope she comes back and makes a nest. Beautiful bird and video!
💕👍👍👍💕wonderfull,we got to be gratefull to our Lord to be able to admire his creation, good job friend,it’s the calm before the storm, repent and pray Jesus to overcome the coming storm.
Thank you for this gorgeous film, the details are fantastic! How close did you put the camera to the nest? I hope she succeeded in removing the "foreign" feather off her tail!
Dear friends, thank you for your kind comments!

I was wondering what that was!
It’s like the bird world’s version of a diaper.
Don't we all? :)
It's actually so the smell does not lead predators to the nest.
Also the parents can eat it for nutrients.
This is absolutely superb! To watch this mother feed and listen to all the bird sounds is such a treat. Thank you!

if they were crows the other one would do that for it
Lol those feathers stuck in its tail, I've never seen a bird chasing its own tail before. Funny but cute
Is not feather, is a insect stuck at the tail.
