I never heard Freedom call before, but Listening to This, i bet This guys are pretty good. This is by Far the Best Cover i ever heard of Doctor stein... They add keyboards, the solos are amazing, Just fit with the Song atmosfere. The vocal is great, i like his performance here... What a Fabulous team work. Now i understand why Sascha was a member of This Band.
Lots of bands have covered this classic track - but Freedom Call in my opinion do it best. They add some lovely keyboard tinges over the top, up the heaviness, layer the vocals more, and add that amazing orch. hit at the very end. Nailed it.
Most powermetal fans don't speak english as a first language. Helloween is also German. And have a huge german fanbase. Remember powermetal is dead in America. But over seas from here it's still strong.
Why the f**k do you always argue so much!? It's always Megadeth vs. Metallica, Di'anno vs. Dickinson, Deris vs. Kiske!? Just enjoy the music these guys bring to you! As a singer I can say that this dude really sounds like Deris, but his voice is not that powerful though! In this world, there is no one better compared to anyone when it comes to music! You can all try to do things better before you judge anyone! All I ask that you think before you act, for metal's sake!!!
i think who ever sings this song as long as they have a high pitched voice the song sounds killer,kiske,deris,dickinson and bay all have killer voices and do a awesome version,my personal favorite is deris
Sometimes I wish Chris Bay was the vocalist of Helloween instead of Deris, I think he would have been a perfect fit for Helloween all these years.. Haven't been entirely too fond of Helloween as of late, Freedom Call imo is the band that Helloween should be..
+John Rankin Chris Bay is a good singer, no doubt. But his range is not big enough to sing Helloween. I know it's hard to hear, but Bay never goes that high, in fact, he doesn't even try! And when he tries, he does it with almost zero power :/ He hardly go up an octave, and even though that can be fine, it would never work in Helloween. Deris cannot sing the Keeper-songs that well, but i'd say he does a decent job on some of the songs. He has lacked a bit in the last couple of years, and I think he should say goodbye with dignity, but I would definitely NOT have Chris bay as replacement!!!! I'd say only Kiske could work for them, or someone completely unknown :/
@DemonRaziel123 it IS on Dimensions ;-) If you listened better to bass, you'd realise that it's played with fingers, not with a pick like on the earlier albums ;-)
These guys are great. Not like I can do better. But I have to say the solo is CRAP when compared to the original!! Not necessarily the guitarist isn't good enough, they just failed to execute it with enough drama and effects. At the same time, they didn't take a artistically different route, as bands are free to do with covers, they just played like a plain piece of bread. Also, I'm noticing the singer, enough though he is good, doesn't seem to have the range of Kiske, as in, he doesn't even try. Where kiske went up and then up again, he goes up and then splat. Nothing. Like a piece of bread. Rise and fall. Unnecessary song reference. Whatever. But besides these things making the cover version kindof flat, the did execute it well overall. Anybody notice these things I mentioned? I'm not saying that the singer is bad because he's not kiske, I'm just saing he doesn't even seem to tr and it comes off as restrained and lousy. But of course, these are minor selective problems. Sounds like a good band.

in a crude sense mtldemon6 is right, power metal bands are more popular in latin countries for whatever reason. oh well, it's your video so you make the rules
Does nobody but me notice that the timing of the vocals is awful? And to be honest... his voice is as squeaky as Andi Deris' ;) more powerful in the highs, but it lacks something on this song...
Chris bay must be very proud of sascha gerstner (Original FC guitarist) for joining helloween.
Chris Bay from freedom call grew up listening to Helloween and he loves it,and I do too!!!
Grande cover mt bem feito , feito a maneira da banda , freedom mandou bem p caramba

Nice one! I prefer the Helloween chorus better but the whole orchestral arrangements from F.C. give this song a very nice touch!
The original had a better movie horror sounding pipe organ solo than this cover crap ;)
this is like a deris version, with his best performance!
Helloween inspire all the bands of power metal in the world...
Never heard of Freedom Call before....but I LOVE this cover. :)

Helloween would be proud
What ?
Because Kiske is power metal God, he cant be compared to anyone else. Kiske has very unique voice range, no other metal singer has it like he does.
Kiske lendário, im from Brasil fan kiske
El mejor cover que hay de Dr Stein.

Most powermetal fans don't speak english as a first language. Helloween is also German. And have a huge german fanbase. Remember powermetal is dead in America. But over seas from here it's still strong.

Freedom Call did a good job, but Helloween's version is still better :D
Sounds like Deris style. Very nice (y)

Di'anno vs Dickinson it's even a bad joke only to mention it.
AHH AHH AHHHHHHHH *PFRRRTTTT* lmao

@kim2re91 No, they played in live Invasion

Sascha Gerstner guitarist freedom call
@khanz1994 I like them both. :)
Live Invansion Disc 2
@DemonRaziel123 it IS on Dimensions ;-) If you listened better to bass, you'd realise that it's played with fingers, not with a pick like on the earlier albums ;-)
@kalumollerton93 You forgot Rob Halford. :)
@kim2re91
Det sa brura å!
nobody beats kiske on this one...
this is pretty kool. but the solo could've been better. u gotta go all out 4 a classic like this!
Not a big fan of helloween, but this is a good song.
@khanz1994 It's just ... different
Wow. This ain't a bad cover at all, I think. Pretty close to the original. The voice is cool, too!
I'll give it a... uh... 4/5*!
very
Hahahahahahaha but is a nice cover xD
still deris haha
good revival cover:Dbut the original is clearly better, but the effort was an excellent first-I thought it was a mix
:DDD
0:17 he is in the toilet o.O?
i love bay`s voice, but kiske is more powerfull. however it`s a great cover
@kim2re91 seguir hablando en inglés.....it' may seems a bit dificult....amigo ;D

Sounds like he's pushing a big one on the Jon in the beginning. Should have toned down the sound effects.
in a crude sense mtldemon6 is right, power metal bands are more popular in latin countries for whatever reason.
oh well, it's your video so you make the rules
is great to see a good band covering this great song, but i preffer the original, and i hate the unarmed version
I still Prefer Kiske's Vocals on this song.
kiske is mutch better than tgis but this band put the power that heloween needs for this song for that reason i prefer freedom call in this song
Better than Kiske's version and as good as Deris version :pLONG LIVE POWER METAL !!!!!!!!!! :D

Hard to debate with people who write Spanish !
ur not right, check Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge...btw range isnt everything...
This guy sings it better than Deris! Not better than Kiske though! ;-)
kiske la mutch better than this but freedom call put mor power to this song for that i prefer this "dr stein"
Don't say "gay" to insult someone!
Does nobody but me notice that the timing of the vocals is awful? And to be honest... his voice is as squeaky as Andi Deris' ;) more powerful in the highs, but it lacks something on this song...
Kiske is better and Chris ( Freedom Call ) is beautiful!!
LG Gully
this is wrong album.
