Anna, Ralph Lauren has out his fall fashion show- it is all the gentle beige with metallic tones, chocolate brown and black. I love that brown is going to be big
I agree about pearls being timeless. I love how Jackie O even paired pearls with a denim shirt. The word I thought of when you were searching for a word to describe the chunky flip flops is ‘utilitarian’. I agree that Maryjane’s are not classic. I can think of so many CZcams’s not really that long ago that cautioned us to stay away from them because the strap would visually shortens our legs! ❤️ your hair!
The blue might be called powder blue. And PEARLS! I love them, always have. I've taken to wearing a seed pearl choker almost all the time, even to the gym. Makes me happy.
We wore vests all the time in the 90’s. My mom made me a black vest in high school and I wore that thing ALL the time. Love that they are back in style.
Mary janes are a hard no for me , also wondering what happens with the off the shoulder thing when you raise your arms.😆 What about the crochet trend, especially shorts? Love a maxi .Your silk dress is beautiful btw. Can I just say, I only came across your channel recently, but I’m really enjoying it ! I’m 67 and falling in love with fashion all over again!
Anna, that lovely blue is often referred to as cornflower blue when it's a mid to light tint, imo, also just "light blue". I'm a painter; when mixing this colour I add a touch of ultramarine blue to white. It's luminous, absolutely gorgeous for sky and florals, too. 🥰 Love the video, thank you!
I think you should be in charge of naming the colors. I love blue bird in the sunshine on the marshmallow blue perfect just perfect. Chunky sandals, sloppy sandals, or frumpy. Almost Always. Always some exceptions. You crack me up. Thank you for making my Sunday.
Obsessed with pearls!! I’ve always loved them but they can get pricey for the high quality ones. Your pieces are beautiful! Where did you get your pearl pieces Anna? Love your videos and so appreciative of the tips and options you give us!! Love from Northern GA! ❤
Love your new hair look! I always love your neutral looks and I’m all over the skinny belt and vest “trends” which I’ve worn since the 80’s now & then.
Personally I’m not into the “effortless” trend with all the loose baggy neutrals, it just looks sloppy & blah on me. I like to look like I made an effort 😊
Finally, a fashionable color that looks decent on me. That soft baby blue or whatever it is. It goes well with my summer coloring. I love yellow, but I can’t wear it. It totally blends in with the rest of my coloring.
Anna, I’m convinced now that I need Halo extensions. I’ve been 1 year without a haircut, no heat for a year, biotin, all hoping to grow my hair. Your hair looks very natural.
Love this vid. Right or wrong my rule of thumb when questioning if something is classy, I ask myself “would Kate Middleton wear this”? That question I can answer immediately.
Just wanted to say how beautiful you look, the hair is hairing and the make up is slaying! Love the neckline of that top too. I will keep an eye out for one like that.
I love ur hair! U seriously look young and sassy! How about u do a video about ur new hair! Its blends so well with ur natural hair! Is it clip ins? Extension,or a halo???
I think you look great in vests. I on the other hand, probably wouldn’t (my body type is different than yours). I’m trying to get behind the vest trend, but to me they always look like someone borrowed part of a men’s suit or forgot part of their outfit underneath. I did wear more embellished type vests back in the early 90’s, over a tshirt or button-up shirt, so maybe it’s because I’m older and remembering that trend. Love all your videos! ❤
Isn’t it nuts how we’re alternately urged by stylists to “make an effort” or “be intentional” in our outfits, yet to “look effortless”! How the heck can we do that? Personally, I prefer the intentionality, truly effortless dressing does look sloppy and that’s what I see everyday, people in sweaty gym clothes or pajamas. I don’t mind if people know I made an effort, anything worth doing, including styling ourselves, requires some effort.🙂
Anna you look great with longer hair. Coming with love as a hair stylist the extension color is perfect, but adding a tiny bit more will suit your thickness better😉🥰
I always prefer narrower belts. I’m petite and very short-waisted and there’s literally no vertical space for a wide belt on me. Even when wide belts are trending, I don’t buy them. A standard width, 1.25 inches, in good leather with a simple buckle is always a good choice that gives a lot of wardrobe mileage. Any width between 3/4 to 1.5 inches is classic.
Also, love nuetral color blocking bc it makes outfits simple and flattering. I can mix and match. Also have always loved vests, just can never find one that fits my very petite upper body
I love Lily Silk, but in summer I don’t wear my beloved silk clothes, it’s just too hot. Silk is lightweight and breathable, but it doesn’t compare to the coolness and airiness of linen. For the first time this summer I have an all-linen summer capsule wardrobe. I love being able to pull out anything, especially dresses, that I know will be comfortable to wear anywhere when it’s 100F, as it’s been here in California this last week. Even lightweight cotton is too hot for me in summer. (Around menopause, one loses the ability to regulate one’s temperature properly, at least without hormones, which I can’t get, and the coolest, most breathable fabrics are essential for surviving summers. I always hated hot weather, but I didn’t know what hot really is until the hot flashes started)! The other three seasons I wear silk everyday, on its own in spring and autumn and as under-layers with cashmere or Merino wool in winter. For someone like me with hyper-allergic skin, silk is amazing, nothing else even comes close to its comfort. Lily Silk has been one of my principal wardrobe brands for a decade or so. I know they use influencers a lot and people complain about that, but the discounts do save me a lot of money. I just ordered a silk top and skirt “set” from them with the points I had accumulated, what fun for the cooler days ahead. It’s hard to believe in this weather that they’ll come back, but they will, I can’t wait!
Lplease recommend some brands / stores that have The tailored shirt that don’t hug your thighs ! I like the fuller cut shorts thru the thigh instead of the tapered to the knee !
I have the hot pink linen pants and dammit I’m gonna wear them. And then everything else is completely muted with white I usually wear neutral colors, but I just felt love with these pants so I’m going to enjoy them
Believe it or not, I too have hot pink linen pants too! I wear them with a brownish tan top and I love it ❤️ But I was referring to the bold colorblocking in the video not the colors themselves ❤️
@@ANNAREID29 agreed I’m not a huge fan of the color blocking either and I never thought of pairing those pants with the brownish tan top. I would love to see how that goes together. I’m gonna have to shop my closet this afternoon. Thanks for the idea!
Coming from an Australian beachside suburb, a number of years ago I went to LA with a suitcase full of neutral linens. The locals thought I looked bland. 🤣🤣🤣
Girl, you're rocken that hair. U look fabulous! I have a black and white pok-a-dot skirt, it's a design that's easy and classy to wear. I bought it in 1987, lol. I wear it to weddings, dinner etc.
Mary Jane flats are also having my attention this year, cos I don't like flats, but I've seen some of them, and the meshy ones? It's a positive maybe for me... I also would not wear those gaping tops😂😂😂...love your hair...it looks very stylish on you❤
You look lovely and very put-together compared to a while back when you were wearing those shapeless sweatshirts. I don't like the moon-shaped bags, I think they're awful (not holding back here!). Vests, not for me, a bit too office/grandpa-like, they look good on other people but I get the feeling that they're going to go out of style soon because they're everywhere (at least online) and they're becoming a bit of a cliche. Shorts: I don't like fitted shorts, bermudas, tailored shorts (a young woman wouldn't wear them - for a reason). I like loose linen shorts for a casual summer outfit, I like linen a lot in the summer, e.g. a-line linen skirts, shirt dresses.
The long hair looks AMAZING! That length is perfect for your face.
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely, your hair looks great, but suddenly longer and thicker… did you get a special treatment or new shampoo/ conditioner ? Looks amazing 😊
@@ANNAREID29I it you hair or extensions? Love the look ❤
I love it❤
True
This is the time to. stock. up on linen for years to come. A classic we can wear for years to come! Great suggestions.
The baby blue and light butter yellow are perfect colors for me!

Yes! ❤️❤️❤️
I love pearls, too, always have, they’re so feminine and classic🙂
That Lilly Silk floral dress is beautiful and looks really nice on you!
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
Love how you're wearing your hair today!!
We wore vests all the time in the 90’s. My mom made me a black vest in high school and I wore that thing ALL the time. Love that they are back in style.
Yes, they were popular back in the '80s and '90s except we didn't wear them buttoned up. Those vests shown in the videos are starting to grow on me.
@@julieerin115 True, never buttoned.
Mary janes are a hard no for me , also wondering what happens with the off the shoulder thing when you raise your arms.😆 What about the crochet trend, especially shorts? That’s amazing, Linda! Love that you’re focusing on yourself and style and loving fashion again ❤️❤️
You raise them to create a sudden turtleneck 😅
You look extra pretty, Anna! Idk if it’s the hair, the makeup, or what… but you look stunning!! 😍
Cornflower!! That is definitely the right word ❤️❤️
Great video….can we talk about the hair? So cute, may I ask, extensions 😍
Thank you! It’s called a halo and it’s so much easier 😻
@@ANNAREID29 Ohh… a halo, I’ve used those before, NO hair damage 😇👍🏼 looks good!
Can you link the halo hair extensions?
Pearls so classy, and I’m noticing men wearing them too- so cool-I love the juxtaposition of masculinity x femininity
That's interesting! and me too! ❤️❤️
@@ANNAREID29 The men & pearls thing is all thanks to Harry Styles!
I agree re: the chunky wide strap flip flop- the are utilitarian, functional and comfortable. They are not for fashion.😊
Nope! But they do have a place! ❤️❤️❤️
That off-shoulder look reminds me of my wedding gown...1991😊 Love loved your shorter hair, but the long is pretty and you look good in all lengths!
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for the distinction of classy and classic
Personally I’m not into the “effortless” trend with all the loose baggy neutrals, it just looks sloppy & blah on me. I like to look like I made an effort 😊
Agreed! I think you mean the baggy trend? I’m rarely a fan of baggy on baggy unless it somehow doesn’t make me look like a potato sack :)
Finally, a fashionable color that looks decent on me. That soft baby blue or whatever it is. It goes well with my summer coloring. I love yellow, but I can’t wear it. It totally blends in with the rest of my coloring.

Agree on the chunky sole flip flop….pool and quick dog walk but not to style and outfit
I love how classic neutral colors show off silhouette and accessories become essential
