Thank you for going into so much detail. I watched several other videos on calculation groups and yours dug a lot deeper. Great to see.

This is excellent. The explanation of WHY things work how they work is not easy to come by. It helps to understand how to do things before I learn it wrong!

This was a very valuable video to me. Thank you for taking the time to explain the issues surrounding this feature.
I'm looking forward to using this in my models.

Hi Alberto, I experienced much better performance with calculation groups instead of using switch with huge data models. I assume that switch evaluates all the nested measures but I haven't found any documentation to backup my thought. What do you think is there a significant difference in terms how the engine works with CG and Switch?

I have 4 pricing type 12 sales total - Contract , Standard, buyin, Override. We want to see sales impact by price increase 1%, 1.5%, 2% and so on. but want to exclude buyin and override from calculating but they should return 12 sales total without any increase.
So my total should be Contract , standard with price increase and Buying, override without price increase. I used calculate columns to use "If" and "switch"function but the result is not dynamic when i change % increase.

Hi Alberto, great explanation. In my case I would like to calculate MTD, QTD, YTD, Current and prev FISCAL YEAR... In all these that are not allowed to do it using time Intelligent cause the Fiscal YEAR starts in September. How is the best way to achieve this? I think I have an idea case In my calendar date table I have columns that identify those times with strings but I want to know if there is a easier way. Thanks !

In specific with dimension type columns so that we can use statements like ALLSELECTED or REMOVEFILTERS
