The Pixel Watch 2 is a sleek and stylish watch that comes with a *Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip* and *twice the storage* of its predecessor. It also has a *multi-path heart rate sensor* that provides accurate results for sleep and fitness tracking. The watch itself lasts longer, performs faster, and feels lighter than the first model. However, it only comes in one size option and has a less durable design compared to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6.
On the other hand, the *Samsung Galaxy Watch 6* is a more durable watch that comes with *military-grade protection**. It has two display sizes and a classic option, which makes it a more versatile choice for users. It also has a **touch bezel* instead of a crown, which some users may prefer. The watch has a longer battery life, faster Wi-Fi downloads, and more fitness tools than the Pixel Watch 2. However, it only has 16GB storage, which is less than the Pixel Watch 2.
In conclusion, both watches have their pros and cons, and the choice between them depends on the user's preferences. If you're looking for a stylish watch with excellent fitness tracking capabilities, the Pixel Watch 2 is a great choice. If you're looking for a more durable watch with more features, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 is the way to go. We hope this comparison helps you make an informed decision. I have a Pixel 6 Pro (yeah I know I'm behind, but like not being under contract) and I'm torn between the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, Pixel Watch 2 and Garmin Venu 3.
Ooooh tough choice. All really great watch. What do you need it for as a priority?
Which did you get
Great contrast, thank you Marcel
Thank you so much
Great review! What about the performance on the PW2 when doing sports and listening to music at the same time? Does it still feel snappy or does it get stuck? Thanks!
Cheers mate. Yes the functions are smooth and quick but it did drain battery if you run multiple tasks. The Spotify inteface is really good though
Did you compare battery life on each watch while music playing mode and GPS?
@@mp-hj8je Good question and not with GPS on but definitely with music and it was no problem. GPS was very good on this device though. Naturally battery drain is faster.
hey, which watch would you suggest? my main ofcus is punctual GPS / map application, uploading GPX tracing and navigating? thanks
Hello, it's a good question and would say they are mostly on par with one another but the Pixel does have fantastic integration for directions.
Most features are not behind fitbit and have the choice to use others like Google fit, or others if you choose. Samsung have doubled up on the apps, so have a Samsung skin snd appS on top of android, meaning massive bloatware and less than 1/2 storage of the pixel. Also pixel has far more accuracy also. And so what, google only has gorilla glass? Been using analog watches for years with just mineral glass and not stretched the screen. A smaller watch is less prone to getting it knocked anyway
All valid points for sure but I do believe a larger screen will attract more users but you do get used to the form factor and I do like the design and functionality
I got about 4 days and some hours with the GW6. I have no need for the automatic measurements or AOD, I do that manually.
That's awesome! You do you, manual measurements and all!
12:06 Great review but you forget to show the galaxy watch keyboard
Thank you for your feedback.
My question is can you use the pixel watch 2 along with another fitbit, I have a charge 6. Would like to use both on one fitbit account. Can't find any videos on this. Would be a major deciding factor between these 2 watches. Essentially would like to use the charge 6 at work and sleeping and use pixel 2 watch other times, would make any battery concerns non existant
It’s a good question and as far as I am aware just like the Galaxy watch 4 and 6 the results of my wearing them are added to my one account.
I'm gonna say no. I have the charge 6 and my Sense generation 1. You can only have one device connected at a time to the newer Fitbit account. samsung is better because they allow you to switch between different galaxy watches at will.
I have both watches and must say the pixel watch is vastly superior imho. The fitness app on the Galaxy watch is pants compared to the Fitbit app integrated into the pixel. The pixel is a bit too small but i haven't really had any difficulty reading the screen. The lack of bloatware is commendable on the pixel, as it is just straightforward google software, so much more usable. The rotating crown is also way better than the digital bezel on the galaxy
Nice feedback buddy and interesting that you got both devices thats very cool. I tend to agree despite being a Samsung fan Google has done a great job on their 2nd edition smartwatch.
My main gripe with Samsung is that the way they handle notifications with tiles is clunky and outdated. I feel like this is merely a holdover from the old Tizen days and Samsung just can't decide how to change it at this point. I much prefer Google's approach with a clean list.
Interesting point. There's is some refinements needed on Samsung plus people do like familiarity
Great review!! If Google makes it bigger I believe it will be major problems for galaxy watches!
i actually hate how bulky my galaxy watch 5 is and i love the smaller and simpler form factor of the pixel watch. might have to jump ship.
@@braddavenport6346 I was thinking about getting it, but I like the size of my galaxy watch 5. I have pixel fold and pixel buds pro it's just the watch size got me timid about it.
Agreed. A larger screen will be a contender and improve battery
I don't even think it needs a larger screen overall...it just needs to fill out closer to the edges. The thick bezel could be thinner. The watch itself is a great size
On the Pixel watch, which watch face is this? I like it a lot!
Thank you for asking Shannon but I switch through a number of faces. Which one did you mean?
Does the Pixel support Google Fit? Not really a fan of FitBit and have a long history with Google Fit.
Yes they are heavily integrated now.
@@marcelontech Thank You! Great, informative video!
Interesting
Thank you.
I have google pixel 8 pro phone. Do i need samsung phone for galaxy watch 6?
No you do not need a Samsung for that watch. 90% of the features work just fine. There are one or two special features that won't such as camera control but otherwise everything else works great.
On an old version of Samsung watch and it did not play well with Pixel when it came to texting.
Over 120 pulse..oh someone is nervous while recording this video
Haha well spotted although I don't think that's correct as I enjoy making the videos I wonder what I had done before
I’d have to check out the 75% free features because I definitely am not paying a subscription for a watch.
Exactly right. You can certainly live without the subscription.... Which watch do you prefer?
I've been using the non-paid Fitbit service for years and I find it to be very sufficient for what I need..
@@marcelontechThe Samsung. I'm not crazy about fitbit.
I think 85% would be more accurate. Unless you want all the workout videos the subscription is unnecessary.
@@marcelontechI prefer the Samsung. That being said, I’ve never used the Pixel but I don’t like the Fitbit system.
Would the Galaxy watch be compatible with the Google Pixel 8 Pro phone?
Yes it will be compatible for sure but there will be some minor features that won't work like live camera view. Otherwise you will have no problems. Enjoy
Only ECG and Bp won't work unless you mod it
my decission was made after i heard about the subscription servive, so it will "not" be the google watch (80,-$/y are they crazy?...does google thinks im printing money in my basement?)....i will go with Samsung
That is a fair judgement. I think they will lose customers this way. However Samsung will be charging for ai subscription services in 2026
Samsung poorer tracking, bloatware as Samsung have their own versions of the google apps, so duplicate apps, and half the storage memory of the pixel 2, and Samsung has a poor cpu
True but there are some very good Samsung apps to. Google and Samsung are partnering for some Android updates on 2024
But Google Pixel Watch gets updates quicker and far less bloatware @@marcelontech
Don't forget to mention most of the pixel features are locked behind a Fitbit paywall. Samsung has more free health and tracking features. Also pixel is gorilla glass whereas Samsung is using sapphire screen.
@marcelontech I love samsung but their watches I'm back and forth on I'm hearing while it works great with samsung health and lots of them free I've heard it's accuracy in terms of heart rate and energy burn suffers and lags behind all of their current computing. Currently due to thar I opted for fitbit but looking to wither go pixel watch 2 or samsung watch 5 pro/6. Do you use the samsung watch 6 and do you actively using it for fitness? If so what have you found compared to others you may use or have used in the past? As much as I like eco systems fitness is number 1 reason for me to wear a watch in the first place.
