- đ Learn how to classify the discontinuity of a function. A function is said to be discontinuos if there is a gap in the graph of the function. Some discontinuities are removable while others are non-removable. There is also jump discontinuity.
A discontinuity is removable when the denominator can be factored such that the factor that makes the function discontinuos can be cancelled out with its common factor in the numerator. Otherwise the discontinuity is not removable.
A discontinuity is said to be a jump discontinuity when the function approaches a certain point both from the left and from the right but the function is not defined at that point.

I cannot explain the joy I feel when I look up how to do a math concept and this mans vid shows up.
bro just thought the same
itâs a blessing because everyone is so much worst then him
@@foodisgood7607 fr he explains it so well
literally same hes so good at what he does fr

Hi sir, what would i do if i am ask to find the value of x for which the function is discontinous.. for example 3x/x-5, do i have to find its limit? Then graph?
what if the function is not a fraction how do you find the value of x?
Informative -!-
Happy to help
Hey, If I have an equation in which two different factors are cancelled out when factored, how do I know which one to use for the x value of my POD? Are there two PODs?
Yes, there would be 2 then
Iam confused.Is this function discontinuous at x = -2?
no it's +2. because if you use x = 2 the denominator would equal zero. and that's not allowed
I am confused. Wouldnât there be an asymptote at x=2? Instead of hole?
Yeah me to like if xâ 2 it should be an asymptope
There will be no an asymptote at point x=2 because it is a removable discontinuity instead we will have an asymptote when we come to essential discontinuity
When the top and bottom cancel out like that, theres a hole. In this case, a hole at x =2
Razia Sultana Shushanta an asymptote is an indicator of discontinuity
after canceling out, if there was still a value that makes denominator zero, that would be our vertical asymptote :)
How is this not simply the continuous function f(x) = x+2?
i dont know
you cannot cancel out (x-2) without applying limits
I think we can
We can cancel itđ
We can
