I may have missed this bc I was skipping around some but I didn't hear you explain that if you happen to find 2 of the same demi-boss then the second one you kill will drop one of the other tier 3 weapon upgrades. This doesn't happen very often but I have had it happen maybe 1/10 runs where the first 2 I find are the same. This is pretty crucial if you are doing corrupted because you don't have much time. An example would be if you found 2 bears then the first would drop the spike and the second would drop either the string or orb, it's 50-50 chance for either. Hopefully this added bit of info will help somebody out there and gl!
Personally believe that having the boss in the corner to start is the most important piece of information here. The tornado's are killer and it helps so much.

Thanks man this guide helped a lot! Took me 25 deaths to get my first kc, but then after dying once from bad supplies (no fish pools anywhere ._.) I just got 4 kills in a row ;). So I think I have it down now :D. Some tips for people struggling: - Demi-bosses only have a chance to spawn on the 3 middle rooms on the edges of the map north, east, south and west. Also the 3rd demi-boss you kill always drops the left-over weapon attachment. (Example: If you kill 3 dragons you'll have the staff first, then bow or pike, then the remaining one) For the boss: - Instead of panicking when you see the purple prayer disable attack, use this as information: it's always a magic attack, so look at the boss after that attack and you know exactly what to pray if he switches or not. And you know it'll be 4 attacks of ranged if he does switch. - When the boss stomps to spawn tornedoes, try to get this pattern in your head: 1. Try to position yourself next to the boss or in the middle of the chamber before the tornedoes attack. 2. Look at the location of the blocked off tiles and the spawns of the tornedoes. 3. Plan your route: For me it works best to (after tornedoes spawned) first walk towards the wall, then alongside the wall, then back to mid and if all goes well even attack the boss, before heading to the wall again to dodge the tornedoes. If ground tiles mess this up, you can always try to go around the boss, which actually works pretty well since you'll be running in a straight line that way to. Also if ground tiles do show up, just click away from the closest tornedo, and only then click off the ground tiles to make sure you dodge the tornedoes. It's better to take a ground tile hitt or two over 1 tornedo to the face :P. 4. The moment you click on the first tile of your route, look at the boss for prayer switches. With a planned route you need less concentration on the movement part so you can focus more on the boss. Be sure to keep an eye on the boss, but keep in mind that if he does switch styles, you have 4 attacks without pray switches so you can focus on kiting the tornedoes instead. 5. Focus on following good lines to kite the tornedoes around, only attack the boss when the chance for it appears (and it actually will quite often tbh, so don't go out of your way to attack the boss, it should appear naturally by walking in a square ish pattern or straight lines). 6. While following the lines look at the boss for prayer switch, and try to eat up to full health. Staying alive and healing up are your main priorities during the tornedoes attack. The higher your health after the tornedo attack, the more dps you can do before the next one by not eating before then (unless you have to ofcourse). So don't worry about not having landed 1 or 2 hitts during the tornedo attack. There will be times when you can't hitt the boss at all because you're too busy staying alive. That's totally fine, just maximize the dps untill the next tornedo attack. 7. Remember, if you get hitt by a purple prayer disabling attack while running from the tornedoes, be thankfull, because the boss just told you 'look at me, I just did a magic attack and you can see if I switch now or not so you don't forget it :P". - Also I personally like the ranged-melee setup a lot more then the ranged-mage. Because I feel like magic for me just doesn't do enough damage. And also while casting the spell your character doesn't move for a few ticks, which can be fun to jerk around with but really all it is doing is adding another thing you have to account for if you ask me :p. Using the pike also makes sure you're standing more in the middle of the room and that you walk around the boss more often, which for the tornedoes actually kinda works well since you're moving in straight lines to avoid going under the boss. With the pike you are more aware of your positioning, because you have to be :P. I think the maybe 3 or 4 hitts you won't be able to do with a pike because you were too far away from the boss during the tornedoes attack, easily get compensated with the increase in damage it does over magic and the 2 or 3 hitts you can't do with magic during the tornedoes because of the animation stall and tornedoes being too close. But hey, suit yourself xD. I'd rather go kill a 3rd demi-boss real quick for a pike then use the staff :p

geez, hit my time machine and went back to early days of osrs with the mammal guides ALSO, just started learning this boss 4 days ago, and watched several guides. ALL the other guides were not very good imo, and i basically learned it by myself. This guide is way better than all the others.
Did you manage to do it? I feel like I`m doing 0 fucking damage, 99 range, 99 atk, 99 str. Doing it almost perfectly. Some room for improvement but I never got him to under 50% ... Any tips? I even tried with tier 2 helm and chest and full inv of food and failed at 50% due to no food.
@@Inri5 yes! took me 8 attempts to get the first corrupted kill. What i started to do was do the normal gauntlet with no armor just a two t3 weapons. I did that until i was at 15 normal gauntlet kills, then i attempted it again with the gauntlet and killed it. Best of luck!
Just a quick correction - @ 12:57 you mention that it’s seemingly random whether or not Hunllef stomps you when you walk under it. That’s incorrect. It stomps on the same tick cycle as its normal attacks. This can also be used to your advantage, as you could wait for the Hunllef to attack and then quickly run under it with no risk of being stomped.
Exactly this. Especially scouting the rooms around the base. Gather everything. Made me have plenty of time left to prepare. Also a buddy of mine has a hunleffcounter. When fight hunleff and he hits you with the first range attack(when u see the splat) click it and it starts counting down telling you when to switch to mage as the attack cycle is always the same EXCEPT when u run under and he stomps you. That messes it up. Conclussion it makes you focus alot more on movement. Edit: someone mentioned it down below
PSA: THE TORNADO COUNTS AS ONE OF THE FOUR ATTACKS. Took 10 deaths before somebody told me this. I kept having to heal and didn't have enough food to kill it, knowing this.. it's easy now..
The most recent update means you find demi bosses in specific spots, which means you should skip non-demi boss possible sections of the outer wall. you zig zag in and out of the outer walls. Safing is almost always better than slightly more dps, especially with bow/staff, you dont actually save dps with these weapons by going low so just keep hp high.
In his full run example he says and does just check the outer wall, which is not correct. It’s not the end of the world or anything but this was the point of my comment just touching up some minor mistakes in his video.
@@ggtohh7186 They way he did it is faster. Pathing like the picture shows at 8:55 is literally the fastest way to get from one demi-boss spawn to the next. What the fuck are you talking about with zigzags?
The stomp will occur if you're under the boss when it tries to attack. If you're underneath it and it's still on cool down from its last attack, it won't stomp. Also worth mentioning that the stomp doesn't count towards the attack switch, eg the boss would do 2x mage, 1x stomp and then 2x more mage attacks before swapping to ranged.
minor optimization thing- don't start bow every time. Scout the wall opposite hunllef on your first horseshoe run, then craft the weapon that corresponds to one of the demibosses if you find one. Some runs might fuck you on shards and you don't wanna be stuck with the wrong weapon and not enough shards for what you need
Dang... I wish you had like some sort of glossary in the description. For instance have time stamps for every subject/topic you are discussing at that point in the video. Example, I know I heard you say something about them adding an movement/mechanic for each type of attack style right before they change to that new style of attack. Does anyone know at what of this, so i can know where to find it. I’ve had a tendency of kinda getting overwhelmed when I’m do everything else during the fight and lose track of the count of each attack style and it will sometime result in me getting blasted for a 30+ headshot. Lol, so this would be very helpful for me. Other than that I give the guide an A+. Personally I think this is best Gauntlet on YT. Good job, mate!
If I remember correctly I belive the legs are the most important, if you dont have time for full t2 try to grab at least legs they are the better of the 3 t2 pieces for defense

In my experience staff is better than bow with eagle but not rigour. Also have more success making at least tier 2 armour with a piece of tier 3 as its gives better att an def bonus which means less time eating and more time dpsing. I use way less food and consistently conplete gauntlets over tier 1 armour with full invent of food.
How do you have the time to get more resources? Whenever I try to get resources for t2 armour I struggle to either find the demi-bosses or fish for food at the end. What is your collecting strategy?
I always go for t2 armor + t3 weapons with no problems at all, consistently, sometimes even with a minute to spare. I can share my methods if anyone is interested don't wanna type for nothing
I'm curious, I'm more comfortable with the t2 set but I struggle often with it to finish everything in time. Could you quickly explain, what to get drop in base etc.

You didn't touch on T2 armor. Is it just never worth making? I'm struggling a lot on time running around getting 7 of each material, and then dying anyway on the boss is so daunting after 10 mins getting out with nothing...
there are t2 prep guides, imo t2 is far better than t1, sure you can do t1 faster but you will also die more often, so it evens out while being less frustrating. I started with gauntlet this week and my current corrupted gauntlet record is 75 completions and just 13 deaths, tried to do some t1 runs cuz prep are fairly faster but it's just not consistent enough for me, i keep dying quite often.
I assume it does, but with 99 mage range melee. Max of halberd is 42. Bow 41(with rigour) 39(eagle eye) and 39 with staff. So halberd better dps. Youre mostly eating at tornados anyway. When full you can try to get some aa's in while running.
if I'm 80 attack and defence with 85 strength, but I'm 99 mage and range is letting my mage or range (depending on the weapons I get) carry me through the boss fight a viable strat? EDIT: I have Piety, Rigour and Augury as well
I know your comment is 4 months old at this point so you may have grinded it out already, but as a fellow quest hater myself. Slayermusiq1 has a great guide on SOTE you can split screen and it takes just over 2 hours for completion.
I tried (normal) gauntlets a few years ago, and I hated it. Even though I did start to get consistent kills, I still hated it. I just tried it again the other day. Was going to try and get better with it, because I'm a rather poor player, and I want my own Bofa. I almost quit osrs because of this shit. Last kill I tried, I did kill it. but same tick it killed me. Since it's just normal gauntlet, I just go in with 1 tier 3 weapon and a tier 2. Bow and staff, because the range makes me more comfortable. But once the tornados come out, I'm distracted with them and don't see/loose count of the big stupid's attacks and get hit hard. Or I go to switch weapons, to only find out after like 5 hits that I was still using same weapon. "Oh, just get more practice, you'll get better" While true, I just can't enjoy the damn thing. After just 1 kill, I feel exhausted. If I die, I'm annoyed. If I kill it, I don't feel joy. No relief.. Just more annoyance. Mostly because the prep time. It's very disheartening when you spend 5-7mins getting prepped, to go in and die. Or just squeak out a win. As much as I hate the gauntlet, I will keep trying. But there is just no joy in it for me. Just pure aggravation.
how do you get to choose which weapons you use like for corrupted i always need to make a weapon to kill a boss but ill end up making the weapon of the boss i couldnt find in time and only end up with enough time to craft one weapon
there are guides for that, search for t2 prep guide, you will rarely run out of time following what that guide says, and even then you can just send with t1 no problem

When doing your first loop you should scout south wall - this pretty much means you can have enough time to always get the bow T3 :)

Worth mentioning the higher tiers of armour too, t2 can help reduce your damage taken at hunllef a fair chunk if you have time to craft

You have enough time to get all t2 armour, need 7 of each resource. Defo try and get this upgrade if you're finding the boss quite hard
Not worth it. Some people struggle as it is to get the resources in time and it will just tilt people even more if they have to leave

How do you have the time to get more resources? Whenever I try to get resources for t2 armour I struggle to either find the demi-bosses or fish for food at the end. What is your collecting strategy?

The shards can be used on the food to make them no tick. Like Karwambwans. So really you just made it harder on your self lol.

I always go for t2 armor + t3 weapons with no problems at all, consistently, sometimes even with a minute to spare. I can share my methods if anyone is interested don't wanna type for nothing
I'm curious, I'm more comfortable with the t2 set but I struggle often with it to finish everything in time. Could you quickly explain, what to get drop in base etc.

You didn't touch on T2 armor. Is it just never worth making? I'm struggling a lot on time running around getting 7 of each material, and then dying anyway on the boss is so daunting after 10 mins getting out with nothing...
there are t2 prep guides, imo t2 is far better than t1, sure you can do t1 faster but you will also die more often, so it evens out while being less frustrating. I started with gauntlet this week and my current corrupted gauntlet record is 75 completions and just 13 deaths, tried to do some t1 runs cuz prep are fairly faster but it's just not consistent enough for me, i keep dying quite often.

I assume it does, but with 99 mage range melee. Max of halberd is 42. Bow 41(with rigour) 39(eagle eye) and 39 with staff. So halberd better dps. Youre mostly eating at tornados anyway. When full you can try to get some aa's in while running.
if I'm 80 attack and defence with 85 strength, but I'm 99 mage and range is letting my mage or range (depending on the weapons I get) carry me through the boss fight a viable strat?
EDIT: I have Piety, Rigour and Augury as well

I know your comment is 4 months old at this point so you may have grinded it out already, but as a fellow quest hater myself. Slayermusiq1 has a great guide on SOTE you can split screen and it takes just over 2 hours for completion.

I tried (normal) gauntlets a few years ago, and I hated it. Even though I did start to get consistent kills, I still hated it. I just tried it again the other day. Was going to try and get better with it, because I'm a rather poor player, and I want my own Bofa. I almost quit osrs because of this shit. Last kill I tried, I did kill it. but same tick it killed me. Since it's just normal gauntlet, I just go in with 1 tier 3 weapon and a tier 2. Bow and staff, because the range makes me more comfortable. But once the tornados come out, I'm distracted with them and don't see/loose count of the big stupid's attacks and get hit hard. Or I go to switch weapons, to only find out after like 5 hits that I was still using same weapon. "Oh, just get more practice, you'll get better" While true, I just can't enjoy the damn thing. After just 1 kill, I feel exhausted. If I die, I'm annoyed. If I kill it, I don't feel joy. No relief.. Just more annoyance. Mostly because the prep time. It's very disheartening when you spend 5-7mins getting prepped, to go in and die. Or just squeak out a win. As much as I hate the gauntlet, I will keep trying. But there is just no joy in it for me. Just pure aggravation.

how do you get to choose which weapons you use like for corrupted i always need to make a weapon to kill a boss but ill end up making the weapon of the boss i couldnt find in time and only end up with enough time to craft one weapon
there are guides for that, search for t2 prep guide, you will rarely run out of time following what that guide says, and even then you can just send with t1 no problem
