The Boss has advantage to support both blue and green team. Whoever win, The Boss also win, and it's mean higher win rate dude.

"The freelancer" might have been a better name? Or "the mercenary" for something less modern-sounding, although it is a bit too militaristic. Actually, "the dayworker" is maybe better? Has the vibe of a temporary employment without particular allegiance and being paid less, while still sounding appropriate for the setting

I think it’s supposed to represent the boss and profiteer getting a share of the gold without having to compete ie. putting in work. Also if you average it out the boss will make more over the long run.
I’m convinced nrb’s side quest is to reference obscure and questionable actions of the fanbase in order to trigger small-scale panic

Tilly doing all the heavy lifting here! Collecting all the Rocks just for Sully to show up at the end with his hands out. Sully played so bad even the saboteur helped him fix his pickaxe.
i think that play was secretly genius bc he had Rosie convinced too- didn't know why he was continuing the bit for so long until it actually helped him

Some rules being broken here. You're absolutely allowed to build outside of the 5x9 starting grid. Discarded cards should be face-down so nobody can see what you're getting rid of. Lastly, and I'm not 100% sure if this is mentioned in the rules, but all communication should be done publicly.
Well, they never broke the rules they played by, and it was hilarious as always, so I don't see much of a problem in that.
Cannot discard cards to remove mines. 2 cards not 3 to fix a tool. Can build outside the grid. That corner on the top was an illegal placement.
Also, never check the centre gold card with a map first, if it’s coal, you have to completely split the tunnel. Check top or bottom to give a better direction
I feel like, in a team based social deception game, secret communication is perfectly fine, since there is rarely to never a guarantee that you are working with the right person
And the profiteer and boss also count as winning dwarfs when distributing the gold, so the team dwarfs were massively overpaid here..
Why does everyone forget that Audrey Hepburn was the first to sing “Don't You (Forget About Me)” at the end of Breakfast at Tiffany's. That’s literally where Simple Minds got their song from. lol

I haven't played Saboteur 2 in a couple years; however, I thought you discard cards face down to allow saboteurs to get rid of good cards (therefore spending up the game clock). Also, you cannot place a passage card if you cannot connect to a ladder. If I recall correctly.

I do think you got the scoring wrong as it's the number of winners not the number of dwarves on the winning team. That means the Profiteer and Boss also count and would have reduced the gold awarded.
It was clear you were having fun though and that made me want to play the game again. Great job everyone.

Rule correction:
Based on the rules I have, profiteers and the boss are counted in how many dwarves won.
Round 1 would be 2 points each for the gold miners (Laurie, Tilly, Rosie). Jon, the profiteer, would get 0. Sully, the geologist, gets 3.
Round 2 would be 2 points for miners (Laurie, Sully, and Rosie). Then 1 point to Jon, the boss.
Round 3 would also mean the miners got 3 points (Laurie, Molly), and Jon the profiteer gets 1.
Points would be (before steal):
J-2, M-3, L-7, T-4, R-4, S-7
Rosie probably steals from Laurie, then Jon steals from Sully.
J-3, M-3, L-6, T-4, R-5, S-6. So still tied 😂

Saboteur is so good! Very underrated game. I've found its hard to get the right group for it tho. Its more game than it seems. People need to be paying attention and actually try to play their roles or it devolves quickly. Also important to play it as a series. You want a bit of a meta to evolve and rivalries and bonds to form.

Laurie told them that they couldn't go out of bounds but the rules say that you can, the initial grid it just to place the ladder and treasure. The rules specifically state you are not restricted to the initial grid.

The discarding two cards only goes for action cards in front of you, not tunnels. Making it even more impossible for the saboteur this way.
Did they forget about the discard 2 cards to get rid of a path? They never used it even when it would've been extremely useful.

Haven't watched yet, but my favorite strategy in this game is to play super aggressively to get your hand size reduced to like 2, before playing the "switch hands" card to effectively sabotage someone else
