  • Don’t Forget Your Schooling: Practical Obligation for Christians
    (Heb 13:1-6)
    I. Concerning treatment of Men (v. 1-3)
    A. Neighbors (Both Christians & Non-Christians) (v. 1-2)
    a. Your neighbor is anyone in your sphere of influence. (Luke 10:30-37; Jn 13:34-35)
    B. Neglected (Those in Prison & Pain) (v. 3)
    II. Concerning treatment of Marriages (v. 4)
    A. Marriage is to be held in high regard and remain pure.
    a. God’s purpose for marriage has never changed. [cf., Gen 1:27-28; Mt 19:4-6, 8-9;
    III. Concerning treatment of Money (v. 5-6)
    A. Be content with your personal resources.
    B. The pursuit of money can bring much pain. [cf., 1 Tim 6:10; Mt 6:31-34; Phil 4:11-12]
    Points to Ponder:
    1. Start each day with the firm conviction that you will love other people. This can most often be demonstrated in and by simple acts of kindness in doing things that minister to other people.
    2. Start each day with prayer, particularly prayer for your spouse, children, and other believers.
    3. Start each day by thanking God for the resources He has given to you, knowing that if we want or need something, we should ask Him to supply it.
