Nice
I’m 4 minutes in and already want this interview to be longer! Smh
I can’t stop watching Seven Hunnid on CZcams 😂his CZcams videos are addictive
As a black kid in the early 2000s who grew up in a small white town, gym class heroes music really spoke to me. I liked rock, rap and r&b but I always had to code switch when talking to my different groups of friends. Listening to Travie always made me feel like someone else understood that feeling of being the weird kid. Will always have respect for this man. Great interview
I feel this.
Yes! Being biracial in Northern England Gym Class Heroes were my Peace Ground
hell yeah same here
Felt this bro 🤘🏽
Big facts..
That first album was BANGING!!!!
and he could spit too!!! These were the good ole days.
This dude is the reason my music taste expanded. Went from “hip hop head” to “music head.” Thank you, Travie.
🧢
Super cap
👁 👄 👁 ....ok.
Low key same I loved rap and liked some of the pop songs on the radio and a couple rock songs but then I got into GCH and then started to listen to a bunch of other shit
Introduced me to one of my favourite bands of all time.
90s baby where y'all at??? One of the goats forreal. His whole image was refreshing. Just sucks he went down that path alot of us including me go down. Heres your 💐 big homie T. Btw, I'll be 27 tomorrow! '94 forever! God is the Greatest
Happy bday my guy, love from Australia 🇦🇺🙌🏾
1997 baby here, happy birthday man!! 🎉🥳 Blessings from Texas!!
Thank you two for that. We been thru alot the past couple years so a chance to celebrate is a chance to celebrate. One love 💯
@Texan White Panther hey bro, I'm good, can't complain.
@Texan White Panther how's everything with you?
I love Travis , I worked with him at a tattoo shop, and still talk to him to this day. He is a great guy and deserves everything great that is coming to him.
Why you lying for no reason?
@@joelking8588 I don’t have to lie brother, I know him, I worked at extreme graphic with him, I still talk to him on a regular basis, if you want to write me on the gram I will gladly prove it to you
@@jordonpratt2604 you lie for what
-I personally don’t understand why people think you’re lying if you know someone who is famous. People don’t realize they were just normal people before becoming famous. They have friends outside of the fame. I knew a guy who was really good friends with a running back in the NFL. They talked a good bit. Went to highschool together and always stayed in contact. It’s not rare. It’s silly why everyone always has to say “oh you’re lying.”
@@ChrisBrew1518 exactly. They acting like he said something foul like people don’t actually know celebs. Like they’re robots and factory made. I think it’s dope when people in the comments can share knowing someone who made it. It just shows how miserable others are in life.
damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
this man was one of the kings of warped tour/myspace eras with Gym Class. I hope he makes a comeback in the 2020s. Praying for your success.
Bruh people just don't know
✨✨✨✨✨
Adam finally got someone his age, grew up kind of like him and understand both sides
Definitely not his age Adam old AF lol
@@tyrushbk within a few years lol

Don’t Forget Adams Bestfriend Aaron Carter Cuhh 😅🤣
I’ve idolize him half my life he was my first celebrity crush Gym Class Heroes was always top tier, it’s such a blessing that you did this interview😭😭💗
Omg yes girl me too lol 😂💗!
Would you still let him hit?

Cupid’s chokehold, papercuts, make out club, clothes off, viva la white girl.. endless classics.
Plus his Lazarus album was solid, dudes a legend 💯
Dont forget The Queen and I 🔥
Viva la white girl remix with Wayne 🔥🔥🔥🔥
On My Own is still my shit! It makes me push for the life I want to live, while simultaneously making me feel like it’s a carefree, summer day! 🤷🏾♂️ 😂
Met this dude twice and was cool af each time.
Travie is honestly a living legend and one of the first along with g.o.a.t.s like Pharrell to experiment and fuse genres like hip hop and alternative rock vibes together. Respect 👑
Frfr
He represents kids that can’t be labeled..black, white , Asian Mexican, bi racial etc..we just like what we liked..
Nah The Clash were really the innovators of that but that was the late 70s and 80s. Wouldn’t expect the kids to know that

Travie DEFINITELY put Tyga on! When I was in high school we tried to get Gym Class Heroes to perform for our culture night and they couldn’t make it so Travie sent us Tyga. Straight facts, he went up on stage saying he was Travie’s cousin!
AAANNNDDD did covers of GCH songs too!!
I’m sorry, but Cookie Jar is by far one of their most underrated songs. Still blast it to this day.
Facts he went in on that. You can tell he was rapping from personal experiences lol
I loooove that song.

He’s from a time when you had to have actual talent to stay relevant.. Glad he’s doing well and living how he wants. God Bless
*This man helped Hip Hop culture move forward yet, he is forgotten. I’d like to hear him do an album with Madlib.*
I feel like GCH was one of those first acts that blew up through social media. I remember seeing them everywhere on MySpace back in 06-7
The addicted life is no joke, when he talked about the chewing on the fentanyl patches, it hit home, love the honesty and candidness of this whole interview, really helps when you see some of your favorite artist talk about their stuggles. Was my daily dose of therapy, celebrating a year and four months today💪🏾‼️

Just realized that when I've pictured Trav in the past 10 years I'd really been picturing Joakim Noah.
Bro, GymClassHeroes was one of my favorite groups when I was kid. Cool to see Travis doing good

Finally someone you interviewed that I have a lot of respect for!! First time I saw Travie he was opening up for FOB 2003? 2004? In Boston. Instant obsession with gym class. I was 14
Been waiting on this man to surface
It was actually the first concert I ever went to… I can remember waking up that morning with a hangover at my friends house. I was up before anyone else and took a shower before anyone had woke up yet. There was a little CD player in there. I just hit play and got in shower. I had never heard of gym class heroes. Never heard any of there songs. I can remember taking a shower, and after hearing the “take a look at my girlfriend” I kept getting out of shower to relisten to that same song. Then when we was on our way to warp tour. I was asking my friend about what that cd was who that band was… I was so pumped to find out Gym class heroes would be playing that day at warped tour… they was probably the best live band there.
I remember waking up before school turning on MTV to them playing the music video for the queen & I fell in love with gym class hero’s ever since. Last tour I saw travie on he was opening for Patrick stump of FOB both on their solo acts. Hope he goes on tour again sometime soon.
What a trip down memory lane. Had to pause and go listen to a few songs throughout this interview. Still know the lyrics after 12-13 years
Oh my god, dude, Travis is such a rare and intelligent FORGIVING and talented individual. I am genuinely blown away by his incredible ability to forgive his grandfather and actually mourn the loss of him after he basically shunned his existence for his entire life based on the color of his skin. Like wow.
Just listened to Cupid’s chokehold yesterday. Ah, the timing of the universe
Lol same went on a GCH binge couple days ago
Him bustin' moves in FOB videos.
No lie, i been thinking about him n gch lately and wondering wtf happened to them and where they are.. couldn’t find one bit of info.. n then he pops up on no jumper.. which is possibly the last place i wlda expected to see him pop up after all this time.
The universes timing is indeed amazing
He made more songs than that you know
Take a look at my Johnson
The song Shoot down the stars by gym class heroes spoke to my soul as a teenager. I consider him an Alternitive music goat.
That was so underrated
The interview we never knew we needed!! No Jumper coming through AGAIN!! Dope ass interview 💯‼️🔥
Going back to the ‘Cupid’ video and remembering Katy Perry being around before she was famous is wild
My 17 yr old self is totally fan girling right now! 😍 I was obsessed with Travie and everyone made fun of me for it. LOVED this interview, thank you Adam!
I met this dude randomly at Walmart in Helena ,MT. They were touring to Canada. We took him, his dj, and body guard to the lake and kicked it with them. All of them were some of the most down to earth people you could ever meet.
Travis was such an inspiration for me when I was in high school. (2004-2008)
Happy to see he is doing better and ever happier to see him happy.
He should deff start interviewing all the bands we grew up on. Itd be nice to here there stories and what they're doing rn
I feel like I jumped in a time machine back to 06' - 07'. It's nice to see he's doing good.
Thank you for this. Gym Class Heroes was a huge inspiration for me in high school. One of my all time favorite groups.
And lmao until this I still thought Tyga was his cousin
This brought me so much nostalgia. I’ll never forget the first time I saw the Cupid chokehold vid. Man I miss those times
Man I watched this whole thing, big up Adam and trav for this
I really enjoyed this interview. You can tell that Travie is super intelligent. Gym Class Heroes was the shit. I remember hearing their mixtape in Minneapolis
Sitting in Minneapolis right now I think the world miss this dude
Always loved this dude's energy. This is the dude you somehow didn't meet during the party but you somehow ended up having a deep talk over a joint at the end of it lol
This interview is what’s up. Travis is one of my favs underrated and rly helped my childhood growth
I remember waiting in line for merch at a Warped tour and chopping it up with Travie before knowing who he was. When I saw him on stage after blew my mind!!!!!! good ol days man
Yoooooo this literally gave me chills. I was just googling this man this weekend. If only I could show y'all my browse history. I recently came across "Cookie Jar" and thought to myself "what has Travie been up to?" and than this comes up. This finna be a good one 💯

Such a great interview.... Ughhhh nostalgia is STRONG
Adam you’ve interviewed 2 underrated people I love so much this year: Kat Stacks and Travis McCoy ♥️
Travie is a great human being, love what you do man, take care of yourself, glad to be a fan.
It's cool to see he's back making music.. felt like every 3 months out of a year I'd do a Google search for new music and interviews.
I'm late to the interview and music but at least I found it.
This is the only interview I’ve needed in my life ❤️
Just found papercut chronicles & as cruel as school children again recently
Both really helped me out as a kid much love to Travie!
Adam needs to do a "best interview" award every year and let fans vote. This one would win.
YOOOOOOOO!!!! This was needed!! Travie was a B I G influence on mixing genres and being YOU!
Awesome interview Trav. This documentary you are working will need to be a miniseries because your story can’t be told in 90 minutes. Anyone else wondering why people in Upstate NY like to live in rural areas aka the woods, if you visit you’ll get it. First, NO noise ordinance. You can blast your stereo till it rattles the windows and nobody cares. We spend a LOT of time outside on our properties or at the lakes in summer because winter sucks sooo bad. Privacy. Nobody cares what the neighbors are up to. Commute time....yeah, the mall or work might be a half hour or more from home, but we drive directly there with no traffic. In the city it may take a half hour to drive two miles. I love that Travie always pays respect to Geneva, the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier of NYS. Looking forward to the new album. It has been a very long time coming and I’m confident it will be well worth the wait 🎵⚡️🔥💜
It’s dope hearing y’all talk about hardcore back in the day. Super sick
I dead ass spent 3 years with a goofy ass monroe piercing just because being a light skinned curly haired puerto rican hardcore kid meant constantly getting told I looked like this dude back then. What a fucking time.
Lol put some respect on your Monroe's name it served it's purpose
dope ass interview, loved gym class heroes back in the day and the papercut chronicles still goes so hard. very unique sound at the time, glad he touched on the pill addiction pillimatic is one of my favorites on that record along with everyday forecast

First time I ever seen or heard dude was in Kansas City. My ex was obsessed with dude I had never heard of him back in 07, I remembered dude bumping into me hard as shit in the crowd I was about to grab him for not apologizing but then he hopped on the stage and start performing… one of the best shows and memories I have from that era. Glad to see him still doing well. Remember when he was with Katy Perry early too lol 😂
I love this!! Being in jr listening to for the kids! I had the mixtape on a hard drive somewhere. Travis is one of the only artists who’s whole discography I can listen to without skipping a song. He was a crush of mine actually to this day. Paper it chronicles spoke to my fucking soul. I deal with heavy depression and that got me through a lot
