@@anonymous-qb8nd even tho you’re right about the microtransactions...2K actually tries to put depth in modes like franchise mode while EA strictly doesn’t give a shit. Look at the PS5 version of 2K21 vs PS5 version of Madden 21...Madden 21 looks exactly like the PS4 version while in 2K21 you can see the difference
@@DADON99 yep ur right about the graphics with 2k there good but the gameplay is horrendous on both next and current gen.. and 90% of animations are recycled from previous 2k games.. i guess both companies in same boat
NBA Street is automatically a good game because of the EA sports BIG intro

NBA Street Vol. 2 has my favorite basketball gameplay ever. I got a PS2 back in June because I wanted to play a lot of the games you mention in your video and bought many of them (Madden 07, NCAA 06, Nascar Thunder 04, NFL2K5, etc.) and once I got my hands on NBA Street I was instantly in love. It's gameplay is so much fun and addictive and the only sports gane I'd take ovet it is probably 2K16 and Thunder 04. It is a true masterpiece in sports gaming
You can’t forget about Fight Night Round 3 that was so fun
NBA Street 1 & 2 was prime sports gaming
They need to remake this game. It was dope and still is to this day

This was honestly one of the best basketball video game I have ever played. It's been a while since I've popped this in the ps2. Might have to dig it out of the box in the attic after this. Thanks softdrinktv, very nostalgic.

NBA Street Vol.2 is my favorite game to play. I still have that and other games like NFL2k5, Ncaa 06 and Madden 07. Street OG wise is still very fun to play and even your friends will roast you too and hype you up so it was 2x the chaos in fun form.
I absolutely loved these games growing up. They definitely still hold up, and they are still games that i adore the hell out of
I like how the original gave you Jordan right out of the box, like "here you go, an op player to get you started"
It's also cool how he becomes the final boss at the end of the ladder.

You're right about the accessible to other gamers part. Not alot of people around me played a ton of sim sports games which made it less enjoyable to play but when I put on NBA Street, NHL Hitz or Mario Strikers, everyone wants to play

Nba street vol 2 has the best startup song of all time "they reminisce" was and still is a street classic no cap. I was sitting there on pcsx2 after i got it going "wow this song and game is great" not only did nba street introduce casuals to our type of basketball (the people in the cities and the hood with different rules and ethnicities) but our type of music. Yeah, I think I can say the same. Thats honestly how I discovered new music, from the games I played. Burnout. Tony Hawk. SvR. But Street Vol. 2 holds a space in my heart. I played the hell out of Vol. 2 as a kid, and whenever T.R.O.Y. started to play, I would always nod my head. Good times

If I remember right, "Hoops" for NES used street ball scoring. But I haven't played that game in over 30 years so I could be remembering it wrong. Love NBA Street though.

Actually when I first played this game it not only reminded me of nba jam but also street hoops from the NeoGeo, which had a gamebreaker type dunk as well as being streetball
Nba and NFL Street 2 are games I still play today along with many other PS2 games because with the CD you get EVERYTHING and you had to work hard to get what you wanted. No paywall

Still playing NFL / NBA Street series to this day since I was 7-8. I am 24 now lmao. NFL Street itself spawned a massive love for football even more but NBA Street is truly the reason I started to get to know basketball overall. Great video as always my guy!

As someone who never plays sports games, NBA Street Vol. 2 was one of my favorite games growing up. So much that I actually completed it. From Dunkin on fools to styling on them and then hittin em with an off the hezy just to hit a 3. Good times, Goooood times.

I remember playing this game, lots of fun, really enjoyed it. I didn't realize there was goaltending allowed until after I played a few games and that was disappointing since any outside shot could always be taken away. But still a fun game.

NBA 2K had a street mode. I remember playing it on Dreamcast around year 1999-2000: very fun.
I remember when you would have the game on easy and you go on a winning streak the announcer would constantly bug you to change the difficulty. Me being a curious kid I wanted to ling he will say it. He literally wouldnt stop bugging me about a difficulty. Small details but games today don't have emerson like before.

Street vol. 2 is the GOAT, I don't know of what, but it is. Few things were as bad ass as the double dunk.

1:08 That's the FIFA Street reboot there. The one you're thinking of has Ronaldinho flipping the ball over, pretty cool cover art and a hell of a game to boot. The reboot was alright, sort of played like regular FIFA at the time (which wasn't all that bad).

My mom took me to GameStop one day and told me I can get a cheap game lol and found this for 9.99 on the GameCube and fell in love with it and put countless hours in this game with my cousin when we were kids I remember teaching him how to play and now not too long ago I taught my son how to play and he loves it this game is really timeless

2:15, while i like older hockey games like NHL 7 to 12, NHL 14, NHL 2K5 to NHL 2K8, simply that hockey games i like the most, i enjoyed the most, sixth gen NHL 2K5, NHL 2K6, my favorite generation is the seventh gen, NHL 7 to 12, NHL 14, NHL 2K7, NHL 2K8. i missed 11 hockey games that is actually great to legendary.
Am I the only one that likes Street 3 the best? The level of customization in the game, plus moving the trick moves to the right analog stick made it easier to flow from trick to trick.
