    I like that the table widens to the DM side, giving every player the opportunity to face the DM while roleplaying. Great work!

      Thank you! That was my exact intent with the design. I appreciate the comments!

    I would also recommend installing some slides on the play trays that will pull out below ti give the folded out part a little more support so you are not totally relying on the hinges to give that support. To slides on each on below

      I like that idea and it is something that could be retrofitted. One thing I am seriously considering is building a full base for the table and factoring some kind of additional support will be high on the list. Thanks for the suggestion!

    It's a really neat idea. My main complaint would be, this table is only usable for TTRPGs, there's no secondary functions. I have a large square table where I put a cover over the monitor, and now I have a large space to play other games and such.
    Also, just my 2 cents, but if you wanted the 3 player areas to be connected for the sides, you should have made a solid base, rather than individuals, and used one 2x4 instead of two 1x4 and had room for better hinges.

    I would really like some deminsions on the build. How big is the player boxes, overall length and width, and how big is the DM area? What are the deminsions of the center play area?

    get a plexiglass sheet to go into the TV slot to protect the screen

      @@progressiveDND do you only have the 1 USB/ power outlet, or have you added others?

    • @progressiveDND
      @progressiveDND  Před 2 dny +1

      I haven't added the others yet. At minimum I am looking at adding some single usb plugs to each play area. That will just require a single hole that will be much easier than the whole box.

      @@progressiveDND cool. I'm looking forward to any updates like that you make. And what's the current screen status? You mentioned breaking a monitor or 2? Yikes!

    • @progressiveDND
      @progressiveDND  Před 2 dny +1

      Yeah, the first one was a obvious mistake when I was running some wiring under the table. the other, a newer tv, the screen just cracked and I lost half of it. I am sure it had to do with me hitting a corner or something. both of those were 50" tvs mounted underneath. I have a 43" that I am going to mount on top. I am going to try to recess it, but that is a problem for future Dan. Actually, probably a "this weekend Dan" since I would like to get it fixed before my Sunday session. :)

    @ProgressiveDND, You put your player names on the table? That will just become a hastle later on because as I've found players are flaky and as a DM you'll always end up replacing people. Then what are you going to do? You'll have to replace that section over and over again.

    • @progressiveDND
      @progressiveDND  Před 2 dny +2

      Yeah, that stinks when your players flake out like that. I have been super fortunate and most of my group have been together for 5 to 7 years. If needed, I could replace one pretty easily, but so far that has not been a problem. I am a very lucky DM

    You added some really good ideas to your table. I think with a bit more usage you will find ways to improve it. One question I wanted to ask was, Did you spray contact adhesive to the plywood & the fabric? It works best when sprayed on both surfaces.

    • @progressiveDND
      @progressiveDND  Před 2 dny

      No, and not for sny reason other then I didn't think of it. Well, other than I had a little less than I thought I had so I want to make it last longer, but there were some areas that would have helped. Thanks for watching!!

    This table looks amazing! And don't think I didn't see those tongs you used at the table saw... ( I'm not going to lecture about safety, but I don't recommend using smithy tools for a push stick) you got yourself a new subscriber.

    One of your cut issues is the material you lose during the actual cut process, when using a template, you need to space each section apart to accommodate this problem.

    • @progressiveDND
      @progressiveDND  Před 2 dny

      So I need to compensate for the width of the blade? That is a great point.

  • @jessicaalvis7063
    @jessicaalvis7063 Před dnem

    Nice table :) but you talk about safety, which is great. But then you follow it up by doing a freehand cross Cut which is just irresponsible and dangerous. One slight wrong movement, and you will pinch the blade, shooting that piece right in your face like a projektile. Potentially ending up with very bad bruisings and a broken left thumb. So please get a crosscut sled or a miter jig. And your angled cuts are just… I won’t even say it. Just please dont ever do that again.
