Jimin wrote the lyrics not only by himself, but was the only one to send his very first draft to the producers, and it was approved, so no need for a rewrite! The lie is the lie he keeps telling himself. Always in the past aiming for perfection and by doing so always questioning and second guessing himself! Although deep inside he knows better! The other lie is telling himself as well as everyone else that everything is alright when it's not!! Jimin has grown and changed, along with the other members since then. All learning to love themselves for who & what they are flaws and all! Jimin is now able to, as his song Promise says, shine the light on himself, as well, speaking up more when things bother him and allowing himself to laugh off whenever he makes any kind of mistake, knowing now he can always perfect or improve on whatever is lacking next time!!
Fun fact: Some musicians were telling that when he sings the chorus "caught in a lie" there is a shift from minor chord to major chord.. usually minor chord depicts sadness and major chord depicts happiness.. so him singing "caught in a lie" in major chord is in itself a lie.........

Jimin has the most successful and versatile solo songs out of all the guys.His solos become instant hit because of the emotions and the vocals he depicts. Lie is a song written by Jimin considering his own experiences,struggles and emotions..Its a masterpiece.

Jimin's just one of the sweetest people the world could ever have, he's simply an amazing person with a beautiful personality and heart but obviously no one's perfect and all of us have to go through hardships in life... Jimin has always been a perfectionist and tried his best to always bring happines to his loved ones. He have talked about his insecurities and "darker" emotions in the past always trying to be honest with us.
But back in 2016 Jimin was going trough so much stress and having a really hard time ( You can easily do some correct research and get what I mean ), that's when he wrote "Lie" based on his past experiences of never feeling "enough" to the point of harming his own body by overworking himself and extreme dieting...years later he did "Promise" as a response to "Lie" ( It's such a beautiful song ) wich I highly recommend you to ckeck out on or off camera.
I respect and simpathyse a lot with this man bc I've been trough the same experience, He's simply one of my biggest inspirations.

This song is the guilty taste of army, it's a masterpiece but although Jimin wrote it he has said that he doesn't like it, because it reminds him of moments of suffering. The song "promise" that Jimin also wrote is a response to "Lie"

LIE was the only song that chart in BB world digital together with BTS album title track : Blood Sweet and Tears
and it happened before this fandom become ten times than today.

I saw this one Abbie, from the link you posted and I agree with you about the quality of it….especially for a fancam. Some of the others I’ve seen are so blurry or the lighting is such that you can hardly see Jimin dancing at all.

It’s a great song, and when he performs it live, it’s probably my favourite Jimin performance- his dance is incredible - there is also a Wings short film with him doing this choreo - I would really recommend you watch it as well as an actual live performance - I’ll try to drop a link to the film 🙏

This song is magnificent, but it has an overtone to me that adds a different dimension. Do not read this without a sense of humor. That incredible backing voice sounds like Louisiana Voodoo to me. Yep, deep Southern background here. Nothing like hearing a great sound out of Korea and hearing New Orleans. If that doesn’t scream something about not needing to understand words to understand a song…
There is another Jimin solo song called "promise". He telling about his inner struggle at that time on that song. It sounds very very very beautiful n sweet.

I am obsessed with Jimin’s vocals in this song, and with the song itself. As beautiful and angelic as Jimin’s fragile high range is, it’s wonderful to hear Jimin belt in his natural range.

There is a special songs that created from Jimin n Tae's fight over dumpling 😆 Tae (V) made a song about it on 2017,the title is "4 o'clock". It was inspired while he sat alone at the park until 4 o'clock in the morning to meet with Jimin after they fight over dumpling. Jimin meets with Tae at the park after getting drunk with Suga and he is crying because of their fight over dumpling but funnily Tae recorded Jimin is crying while he still drunk lol... the story behind the song is so funny, but the song itself sounds melancholic n beautiful.
and on 2020, Tae and Jimin make duet song about their friendship story n they also mentioned about their fight about the dumpling incident on that song too 🤭 the title is "friends". It's really a heartwarming song about Tae n Jimin's friendship
JIMIN soley wrote, composed, & helped produce along with the song FRIENDS. But as Jimin himself said, he did text Tae when writing Tae's lyric part, to make sure Tae would want yo add or change anything up! He talked about this during their comeback introduction to their MOTS:7 album.

Like others have told, this song's meaning relates to both the BU storyline and real life...
Ok, saw that you have reacted to Awake too, haven't watched it yet, will watch after this video.. just watched Stigma reaction..So Stigma, Lie, Awake all are from Wings album, and they all fall under BU storyline, but the meaning can be taken to real life too.. for example Lie and Awake are about internal struggles of Jimin and Jin, Begin is JK's solo song, where he thanks the other members(his hyungs) for guiding him, And JHope thanks his mom in his solo song MAMA, Suga's song First Love is about his love for music....its like 2 layers, the lyrics meaning is for real life and when combined with video, it depicts BU Storyline..
You should watch the MVs of storyline in order.. these solo songs have short films and the videos interlink to form the storyline...
